Room was clean and comfortable. Staffing was absolutely horrible. Five minutes after checking in desk person was gone - waited about 10 minutes and never showed back up. Had explained we made two separate consecutive reservations because of weather and wanted to stay in same room and supposedly was taken care of but the next day we were locked out of our room. Called the phone number on door two times and spoke with a reservation agent who stated she would leave a message (apparently it went to the front desk nobody was manning). After approximately 1/2 hour the maintenance man showed up and contacted someone to help us. So after about 45 minutes we finally made it to our room. The next morning I received another charge on my card for the room we’d already paid for. They stated it was because they hadn’t been paid by Hotels.com and when they got paid the charge would disappear. I have used Hotels.com for many years and have never experienced this before. It’s been three days since we’ve checked out and the charge is still pending on my card. We will definitely stay somewhere else next time we visit Salida.

There always has to be one and I’m it this time. Booked 1 night for basketball tournament and a few days later booked another night because the weather was turning bad. Notified hotel at check-in and via message on website of 2 separate bookings but 2 nights together so we could stay in same room. Chose pay at hotel for first booking and was charged on card full amount 2 days after booking and before our travel. Directly after check-in we went back to the office needing something, waited around for about 10 minutes and nobody showed up, they were gone. After 1st night went out to eat and keys didn’t work on door when we returned. Nobody was in the office or anywhere else. Called their phone number twice and received answering service that stated they’d send a message to the computer nobody was manning. Finally the maintenance guy showed up and he phoned someone to let us in our room after about 30-45 minutes of trying to contact someone. Leaving today and see they’ve double charged us which is pretty irritating after everything else and a night of loose sheets that came off the bed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but we can hear all the traffic on Hwy 50. I understand things happen and off season but all events combined has become too much. Staying here again is a definite no.
