Easy checking. Assistance provided with parking costs, cut by half. Arrived early, room was ready and was able to check in and access room. Staff helpful and friendly. Great location, fridge in the room. Comfortable and quiet. Love this hotel.

excellent location, nice room. very pleasant reception staff, very comfortable bed. only problem was the bar service and food service..My wife tried to order salad for meal on arrival. One salad was unavailable and no salmon for the other. Orders soup , very small bowl and no bread. Happily supplied on request.Delay for my Thai curry . it was defrosting./ some small problems next day ordering coffee /tea in bar. delays with lattes and extra hot water for tea. Nevertheless would stay again for location comfort and friendly staff

Nice hotel in a brilliant location in the very pretty Chester centre. If you fancy a nice meal out there are loads of choices in the town, plus plenty to walk around and enjoy. In addition you're next to the roman amphitheater and the grosvenor park which is lovely for a walk or a short jog. Parking is in the multi storey car park on pepper street and is 1/2 price if you tell the hotel, but the spaces are very small (not ideal if you have a big SUV). There are other car parks available.

Great location & our overall stay was very good, although we were abit disappointed when we called in the bar on the Sat night that they had neither of the drinks we ordered - Thought it might have been better stocked up. Also the beverage tray in our room was full of sugar - a minor thing but for the price we paid for our stay I thought this was quite poor and the room should have been checked before hand.

Great stay in Chester. This property couldn’t be closer to the city centre and attractions. Very nice staff in particular the friendly girl on the bar on Monday night. Breakfast was excellent but missing hash browns from the menu for some reason. Room was decent for the price we stayed as a family of 3 and had plenty of space. Also very close to a lot of dining options in the area. Make sure you ask for the parking discount before you pay for parking as we fell foul of this (did get a refund so no real dramas apart from the hassle)

Everything in this hotel is fine , we have stayed here before and not had a problem with anything but this time it was disappointing to have our christmas night away spoilt by the hotel bar closing at 11 pm on a friday night meaning we had to go elsewhere on a really busy night instead of relaxing in the hotel lounge, otherwise it was a great stay as usual

Hotel staff were very friendly, gorgeous hotel and right in the middle of everything you’ll need from Chester. Only problem was the parking, NCP, £10 for 24 hours but you can’t leave and return with that price, you’ll pay to exit and the 24 hours starts again.

Nice hotel, very similar to a Premier Inn but with better breakfast and bar area. Right in the centre of Chester with discount car parking at £10 per night 100 yds away. Only odd thing was my wife found some clothes in her bag that weren’t hers. Initially we feared someone had been in the room but with the help of reception we realised the clothes had been left under the bed by a previous guest and then unwittingly thrown in the bag in the dark by my wife. Receptionist was really helpful checking records of door entry etc to proof nothing untoward had occurred

Not impressed staying at a supposedly 4* hotel which has an empty fridge in every room yet no bottled water for guests! Hotel bar closed at 10 pm also. The room was disability abled and had the red pull chords and low sink, again sorry but not happy with this either. We paid a lot more money for the room than was advertised the week before our stay (and even the day before) yet we were given a this room. We arrived early (13:45) and check in wasn’t until 15:00 (I hadn’t realised) it was no problem, we left our luggage and went for a wander and popped back at 15:30. An out of date notice was on desk in the reception apologising for the bar closing early(10pm) for the whole of January. Our stay was February. Overall. There are a lot of hotels out there - would I return to this one? … no. Recommend? … no again.

Room was visibly not clean, including prior occupants dirty underwear behind bathroom door!

We arrived and were allocated a room on the first floor, overlooking the front of the hotel. As we put clothing away I noticed female underwear, socks and a corset clearly left within the drawer. I couldn't tell if these were dirty or not so closed the drawer and returned to reception. In fairness, the reception clerk was apologetic and offered a replacement room. This was along the corridor and overlooking the kitchen fan, which although not really noisy did transmit low frequency humming throughout the night. The hotel is tired, it appeared that this was previously a Premier Inn, same carpets and bedroom furniture. Our furniture was marked with a clear lacquer which had set solid on the surface top. Marks on the wallpaper etc only sought to add to the feeling of a tired hotel. The only redeeming feature was the shower power which was next level, albeit the mould on the tiles and door was far from perfect. Location wise, this is situated in a briliant area, close to the town centre. We parked at Little Roodee car park, 10 min walk away. This is a council run parking lot and is very secure. For 3 nights, 4 days out cost us £33, great value. We didn't breakfast here, £16 if you attend without booking, booking the previous day this drops to £13. However, nearby are some great cafes, Zanger and Marmalade, great value as well. We loved Chester, great city and we will return. Next time we won't be going to Leonardo Chester, unless it is refurbished.

Good, few minor issues with dust and bottle cap under the bed which my daughter found

Disappointed to arrive to a bag of rubbish outside the door, and lipstick on the cup when we made a drink. The room was very nice, and the bed comfortable. A pity to be let down by basic oversights

The bed was really comfy My biggest issue was that the bin had not been emptied from the previous occupant..

Room very good, location amazing. Housekeeping needs attention. The Duty team dealt with our issues quickly and without fuss, but at this price, dirty cups, grubby pillows (no pillow protectors) and grubby mattress protector are not acceptable. Breakfast was good. We will stay again when in the area but will be checking the room on arrival.

Lovely relaxing stay, and the service from the reception team was warm, inviting and friendly. A great central location to explore Chester made this hotel ideal. The only points in terms of feedback which isn't so positive is that we had to wait over 30 minutes to be served a drink in the bar and ended up going elsewhere which was disappointing. The cleanliness of room was also not great, a shaver head from orevious guest was on bathroom floor as well as a pair of socks in bedroom near wardrobe. Overall a lovely weekend.

The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Very quiet even though on a main road and blackout curtains helped a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good too.

We stayed in a double room, pros and cons are below: Pros: - reasonably priced stay - excellent location - really comfy bed - warm (sometimes too warm at night), quiet room - bathtub was useful for little one - amazing blackout curtains which knocked us all out for 12 hours after a tiring weekend! Cons - fridge wasn't working so food we tried to store went to waste - bathroom/corridor didn't smell so great - we were out until 12:30pm, came back to nap our little one and the room hadn't been cleaned. We left our room again at 2:30pm and we saw cleaners outside in the corridor. We left the sign on our door requesting a clean both times but it didn't happen. - the bathtub tap had black build up in it which was breaking off into the water when I was bathing my little one, which wasn't great to experience.

The fridge in our room was effectively a box with an internal light. No chill whatsoever. (room 211)

Room 253 was small but clean and modern. Big Samsung tv and nice shower. Only downside was a view of a brick wall with a nearby vent from their kitchen so could smell the food even though the window was shut. Also couldn't get the a/c working. Overall nice hotel with a central location. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants to choose from. Id stay again if the room was a bit better. Overall 4/5.

Nice place in a good location (very close to walls, couple of minutes walk to main area). The staff were all nice, polite, professional And friendly. Downside was the windows don’t open at all. This makes the room very stuffy and warm. Air con was quite poor. The rooms need fresh air.

Large room which was very nice, all modern. The only downside is the big step getting out of the bath after having a shower. This would be very dodgy for someone with limited flexibilty. Staff were all helpful... Location is perfect, Would recommend this hotel all day long.

The hotel interior is lovely, the rooms are a little plain and functional by comparison, but they have everything you need and seem clean & quiet. Knocked a star off for the bed; such a hard mattress, neither of us could get comfy and I woke up with backache. If firm mattresses are for you, then great! The location is perfect for exploring the centre, walking the wall or taking a stroll to the river. Parking is inexpensive in the shopping centre multi-storey next door (£10). Great cooked breakfast, nice coffee and plenty of choice of cereal etc, with fresh cooked eggs. Book ahead for a reduced rate. But there are plenty of eateries to choose from locally if you prefer to explore!

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. Just could have done with a bath mat in the bath for use with the overhead shower. Did find the bath very high to get in and out and i am tall.

This trip was made extra special by the friendly and helpful staff, but especially Jules who understanding and friendly professionalism made our stay perfect

Lovely stay again, second in a month actually, and because of the service and friendly helpful staff who understood our needs and acted on them with efficient but friendly service, made us feel especially welcome and thst nothing was a trouble, especially Becky on reception.

We booked a standard room and we got an accessible room. There was no explanation for why a room that had been booked so in advance was changed without any warning or permission. The receptionist was not very friendly and did seemed phased with the situation.

Was only there for one evening, check in was easy, reception very friendly. Told them I’d be leaving at 6am, and they said because I had breakfast included they’d put together a take away box for me, which they did - great unexpected service.

Staff were the highlight for me, both ladies at reception were fantastic and friendly. Breakfast was again brilliant, you are greeted straight from the start, cleanliness was 10/10. The chef went the extra mile for by brining us extra crispy bacon. Thank you guys.

Lovely staff , really helpful and particularly Zornitsa ! Lost a necklace and when someone found it and kindly handed it in, she went out of her way to make sure we got it back before we headed off back home and went above and beyond, thank you

reception checked someone into our room when we where already in the room and issued keys to them we got a shock when they opened the bedroom door as did they,this raised a security issue for us.If we had not stsyed here many times we would have been very concerned and annoyed.

Overall, this hotel was great; the location was good, the room was clean and the restaurant staff and breakfast were both excellent. My only criticisms are the fridge in the room did not keep anything cool - when we reported it, we were told it was a ‘common problem with all the fridges’; and a couple of the Reception staff, although not overtly rude, were definitely quite brusque. But I would still recommend this hotel based on its location, price and room & restaurant facilities

Great location right in the centre of Chester, close to restaurants, the Rows and shops. I was pleasantly surprised as to how quiet my room was even though it overlooked Pepper Street which is a busy road- I didn’t hear any traffic at all.

This would have been a 4 star review but the breakfast let it down. Location good, checkin quick and female staff member very helpful. Bed comfortable and bedroom/bathroom of decent size. Breakfast - at the time we arrived 9.35am had to ask for juice canisters to be refilled, to be told the hotel had ran out of pure orange juice, had to make do with only apple. Had to ask for glasses for the juice, for them to arrive hot. Had to ask for cutlery on table to be told take it from another table. No pastries were available. The female kitchen member of staff couldn’t be bothered, everything seemed like a hassle for her. The food itself was tasty enough.

Decent hotel with a great location. Breakfast buffet was ok but ran out of things (not near the end).

The hotel is a nice hotel in a good location, unfortunately the breakfast lets the venue down, we stayed for two nights each morning the breakfast was cold with limited availability of the items included in the buffet, we did bring this to the attention of the receptionist who informed us we were not the first to complain. We intended to have a drink at the bar during the evening the drinks were so limited we didn't bother, these things were very disappointing.

A very good quality (city break) hotel, well positioned for visiting central Chester. We booked three rooms for our family visit and all were functional and spotless. Public areas are comfortable and well designed. Breakfast was great! Would definitely recommend.
