Riu Palace Kukulkan - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Overall enjoyed our stay. Very clean property with staff constantly cleaning all times of the day. I liked how our room was cleaned multiple times a day. The proximity to the beach is nice and the beach is beautiful. The activities were really fun especially around the pool area. I don’t really like that they close the pool in the evening, but I understand that’s part of the cleaning procedure. Transportation to the Riu parties at caribe were convenient and the parties are very lively. I wish there was karaoke! I feel like that would be a really good activity to add, maybe even just showing videos to sing along on the Riu stage. We loved the big buffet area, a convenient area to reconvene with everyone in the party. Lots of variety and healthy options available like fresh fruit. The restaurants are very beautiful inside and I like how they are all colocated in the same area. The food is okay, our favorite was Krystal, the octopus main dish is a stand out for us. We would come back again :)

Property was amazing, it was clean and beautiful, room was big, nice and comfy. The fact that you don’t need to make reservations for dinner was great, we were able to try all the restaurants, and food was delicious with tons of options. Servers at the pool were on point checking in all the time and bringing the refills. The only thing that they don’t have is options for nightlife inside the hotel, they do take you to other locations for parties but nothing in the hotel, but if you want to relax, this is the place for you. Will definitely return.

The hotel staff, food and dining options, rooms and pools were all wonderful. I would like to see more night activities. The weekend we went to visit we had to get transportation to their hotel to enjoy the night life. I will definitely stay here again!!!

Everything you need for an adult only resort. All the food is amazing. With it being small, it is nice and easy to get around! There is always something going on and if you want more of a party, free shuttle to their other resort theme nights.We will book again.

We had a wonderful stay, the property is clean and elegant, staff is friendly, always cleaning and your drinks are topped up regularly. Special shout out to Cocom- he’s fast, efficient and somehow knows which drink is for which person with incredible accuracy. He’s one of the many pool side servers. There’s an abundance of food variety at each meal, no excessively lineups. Cappuccino bar serving coffees and snacks and late night snacks at the other bars. The rooms as clean and modern. The beach is big with many chairs and umbrellas and the 2 main pools are big with one being heated and a swim up bar/pool for people who like to be close to constant top ups. Liquor is quality brands and there are fun classes and activities plus nightly shows. You won’t be disappointed coming to this resort. Being adults only the ages range from people in their late 20s to their 70s- it’s a chill vibe, all the guest are having fun, no negative energies- people dancing no one severely intoxicated even though liquor is endless so that’s a plus. The resort has activities you can pay additionally for like Cenota visits, parasailing, seadoo rentals and snorkeling if you want to go off the resort on guided tours. This is the place to go if you don’t want to be disappointed- the staff is wonderful - friendly smiling faces, constantly cleaning the floors and the windows. You won’t regret choosing this resort. Thanks for the great time, we will be back!

This was our first time staying at a RIU and we absolutely loved it. The staff overall was incredibly nice and attentive. The hotel, facilities, and rooms were kept spotless. The restaurants for dinner were great with our favorite being the Asian fusion option. The gym is small but fits the need. I would recommend going before dinner to avoid the crowd. The only true drawback was for breakfast or lunch the only true option was the buffet. The buffet is huge with a large variety of options daily but it gets boring. I wish they had a sit down option by the pool or etc.

The staff here is fantastic! Really made my bf feel special on his birthday with cake and champagne. The resort is very clean and you see people in the cleaning 24/7. Direct beach access, multiple pools and access to the parties at another RIU. The restaurant are hit or miss and they could have more activities, but if you want a RIU on the more chill side this is the one for you.

Our trip to the Riu Palace Kukulkan was amazing. My wife and I stayed for six nights. Here is how we felt about everything: The room- we had a jr. suite ocean view. The view wasn’t the best as we were on the first floor for rooms and the roof of the lobby obstructed some of our view. We upgraded to elite club halfway through our trip and the 3rd floor ocean view was amazing. The rooms themselves were spotless, modern, and had the most amazing shower. Housekeeping was always very timely and responsive to any needs that arose. The food: The food was great! The elite club restaurant, steakhouse, and Asian were our favorites. We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning. There were many options and food was always fresh. Pools/Beach: There were 4 pools: one had a quite vibe, the next was an activities pool, the next had the swim up bar, and the final one was for elite club guests, and was pretty quiet. The beach was pristine and weather conditions permitting, great for swimming as well. Service: the staff is amazing! Rubi made sure we had a constant supply of snacks and drinks when we were at Daiquiri bar. Staff interactions were always wonderful and they went out of their way to be helpful. Activities: their evening programming was very good. They also have parties free of charge that you can attend at the nearby Riu Caribe. As far as programming at kukuklan, my wife and I enjoyed the silent disco, and the live singers on different nights were good as well.

The room and overall hotel was immaculate. The staff was extremely helpful and personable.

Property was extremely clean, food was good quality and the staff were also very friendly. The location was beautiful for watching the sunrise, with clean sandy beaches.

Riu Kukulkán has a very good entertainment programs. I love the live music every night. Buffet is the best one among all the resorts I have stayed in the past. Room is clean , stuffs are friendly. I enjoy the stay very much. I highly recommend this resort. And I will come back again in the future.

The accommodations, staff (all areas), management, food/ beverages, entertainment, activities, services and amenities were above 100%. this was my first time out of USA and RIU has set such a high standard for my next trip to the next destination. Every aspect of the RUI was impeccable..............words don't even say enough

Resort was clean and well maintained. Staff was nice. Exceeded my expectations.

The restaurants, waitstaff, food, and cocktails were excellent. I really appreciate that there were plenty of vegetarian options and multiple cuisines, but vegans would not have the easiest time finding meals here. The pools and beach and the areas around them were always clean, and attendants were always available to bring drinks or an umbrella. Entertainment was pretty meh for a five-star hotel (there were only 1-2 small activities/shows going on each night after the pool closed at 7pm, so you don't have much to do besides drink and eat or go back to your room). The room itself was also set up oddly, with a soaking tub in the center of the room, and the toilet and shower each in separate smaller rooms in pseudo-hallways divided by a partition. Room service was extremely limited for a resort of this size, and the housekeeping/restocking of room amenities was super inconsistent: I had to call multiple times to get things restocked, and it always took over a day. Housekeeping also walked into our room without knocking while we were still in bed (about 9am), which was off-putting. Overall it was a nice stay, but not at all what I'd expect from a supposedly five-star resort. If I were to go back to Cancun, I'd try another resort.

We come to Cancun a few times a year. Chose this resort because it was new. Beds/pillows were terrible- and service was the worst we’ve ever had at any resort. Servers/staff did not seem happy, especially bartenders. Pools are small, and the temps were off. Food was mid. Our friendliest waitress was Ana in the buffet every morning. Without her service- this would have gotten 0 stars. We had this trip booked for months, and when we arrived they tried putting us in 2 double beds with no upgrade option. The whole thing from start to finish was terrible. Save your money & go somewhere else.

The hotel was spectacular. Very clean, fairly new, well maintained. Food was incredible. From restaurant options to the buffet. Quality of the food was excellent and fantastic choices. Staff was above and beyond. From the cleaning staff, to restaurants and bar staff, to service desk, to entertainment staff. A+++ Our room looked over the lagoon which was quite nice but I don’t think many rooms have this view. In looking at the rest of the rooms, I would likely stay away from the sides of the hotel rooms as the views from those rooms would be to the walls of the neighbouring hotels. The only thing to be aware of is that all rooms for more than double occupancy only have 2 double beds which are small for sharing. Hotel was spotless in all areas, pools, public areas/washrooms, hallways and bedrooms. Beach was beautiful and sea weed removal was done constantly.

It was very noisy from the road side, and at night sounded like a construction zone banging with hammers couldn’t even fall asleep.

The property it-self is very clean and nice. Buffet is great, but the other restaurants are just ok. Staff is very friendly. The downfall is the rooms are not soundproof, or remotely quiet. The noise from on street or the pool party as well as people in hall and ajoining room is very noisy. If you are looking for rest, relaxation, or peace and quiet you will not get it here.

At the Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan, the staff were friendly, accommodating and engaging. The property and decor was clean, beautiful and very well laid out. Our junior suite was on the side of the building and we still had a great view of the plush green gounds and stunning blue ocean. We were extremely disappointed about one thing. At check in they offered to upgrade us for $125 to a king size bed suite. That's how we found out our suite had 2 beds. We didn't take the upgrade and soon found out that the 2 beds were very small (will give Expedia feedback about that). The buffet had a nice variety of food. Breakfast was the best! For dinner we tried 2 of the 5 specialty restaurants, the Steakhouse and the Asian cuisine restaurant. Their food was flavorful and delicious! When we weren't in one of the pools or relaxing poolside, I played bingo and did water aerobic. They were always grilling some of the staple grilled foods plus something special daily. We enjoyed walking along and sitting on the beach and we had so much fun at silent disco, a mini concert with a local band and a musical showcase of Mexican culture. We went to a couple themed parties at a sister Riu property with more drinks and food there as well. For me this was a perfect balance of relaxation and fun.

Bra service hela vägen! Rummet städades 2 gånger om dagen, bra bemötande på restaurangen och topp service. Vid stranden hade vi också topp bemötande och bekvämlighet i form av servicen hela tiden.

Wonderful resort! Bartender José at the lobby bar was incredible! He was friendly and cool, always had a smile on his face. Doorman Richard was great! Knowledgeable & always ready to help. Server Alexander at the steakhouse went above and beyond everytime we saw him! Such a young, charming guy! All of the staff at the resort were wonderful! No complaints at all. The facilities are lovely and the food is great! ((Especially for an all inclusive.)) Fun vibe for anyone no matter what you’re looking for. Will be back!

We have been to Cancun many times at many different resorts in this by far was the best stay we've had despite a couple of issues. Our first night our air conditioning was broken in a beautiful room but Pamela came to the rescue and made everything right and was more than accommodating. The issue was resolved we got to move rooms and ended up with a better view than we had to begin with. This was by far the cleanest resort, with the best food and the best drinks... not all just drinks sitting out in the sun and drink machines, but real bartenders actually shaking, hand-poured Margaritas and drinks, which is hard to find at many resorts. Also one of the best beaches I've ever been to and with the mall just across the street where you can go get a Starbucks coffee and many other upscale restaurants within walking distance. We never felt unsafe and took a bus down the road to the marina to get on the ferry to go to the island and never felt unsafe at all. We're already thinking about going back and for the first time ever we would definitely go back to the same resort property. For the price compared to the amenities it is definitely worth it. To be honest this resort is probably underpriced. Thank you to Pamela and the entire staff for a wonderful vacation!

El servicio de transporte fue terrible desde el inicio, tuve que esperar más de 1 hora en el aeropuerto. Y el de regreso querían buscarme con más de 5 horas de anticipación a mi vuelo. No me dieron más alternativas y me tuve que ir en uber. Adicionalmente otra reserva del transporte dejo esperando a otros huéspedes q estaban en nuestra misma reserva y también se tuvieron que ir en uber. Llamamos a la compañía pero no atendieron

The service in the restaurants and bars was amazing, but if you’re booking with the promise of the $850 resort credit, don’t hold your breathe. The resort credit is actually $10 or $20 coupons towards individual services, like a $300 massage, or $10 towards a romantic dinner. You can only use it once per person per stay. You essentially have no chance of using it. Completely misleading and more of a scam than not.

When I had planned my trip here where it says “all inclusive” food & drinks the bartenders were a bit confused I guess, because I was given a limit of 4 shots of alcohol each time I would ask for drinks stating I wanted 7 and they were also very rude saying things in Spanish thinking I didn’t understand it so I will not be booking here at this resort in the future

Our check-in was a disaster and the staff at the front desk were extremely rude and unhelpful. They run a scam where they charge you for 2nd in room at 'last minute' premium rates, even though I notified them 2 months in advance that we would be a party of 2. I asked to speak to the General Manager, they sent me the activities co-ordinator. I wrote the GM personally and never got a response. The rest of the staff and experience was OK. There was construction throughout the night unyil 3 AM, and no apologies or make goods from the resort... you hear the traffic highway noise inside your room at all times. Food was OK. Drink was OK. I've worked in hospitality and tourism for 25 years and have been going to Mexico for that long... I will never book at a Riu property again. They had an opportunity to make good on the terrible start, but never caught up... they really need to focus more on Hospitality training. Unfortunately, they lost a client that could have booked many room nights with them throughout the year. If you look at my previous reviews, you will see that I don’t make bad reviews easily, as I have empathy for hard working hospitality & tourism staff. So take heed of this one. NOT RECOMMENDED!

The ocean view was amazing, the beach could have been cleaner. Lot of weed on the shore , did not enjoy it

The hotel is amazing. It is in walking distance to high end stores. But you don't have to leave the resort if you don't want too. Conchi was amazing server at the dining hall!

Room was very clean and the bartender at the Daiquiri bar was everything. Armando in Don Julio was awesome as well. Please bring tip $ cuz the staff deserves it. The area itself is walkable to shopping and the casino

Fantastic hotel with great dining options! Buffet was delicious (with crabs, ceviche and other seafood). 4 other restaurants give you a lot to choose from. Freshly squeezed juices - all fresh! Best hotel food I've had! Clean, spacious rooms. Staff was great! Shoutout to bartender Angel for making cocktails each evening for all guests - everynight new cocktail/mocktail options.

We are a big riu hotel travelers but this one was not much to our liking. The food was not great and the pool bars were not so good. There are much better riu’s hotels in Cancun.

Spa & GYM are too small, no heat whirlpool. Buffet has a lot of choice and food quality is better than average. Unfortunately Speciality restaurants are very disappointed especially Asian food and the steak house menu is too simple and both steak and lobster were over cook and not hot enough. But the services excellent. Room is clean and good size.

Riu Kukulkán has a very good entertainment programs. I love the live music every night. Buffet is the best one among all the resorts I have stayed in the past. Room is clean , stuffs are friendly. I enjoy the stay very much. I highly recommend this resort. And I will come back again in the future.

This was a decent resort pretty clean they did really well with keeping up with the sargassum on the beach. Service was great at the pools. Wasn’t impressed with the food options. The restaurants were small and all of them were hot. Not air conditioned well at all. We ended up leaving the resort 3x to eat food much better and it didn’t affect my stomach like the resorts food had. My room was on the ninth floor great view but again it was not very cool in my room. The worst part for me was on my last morning I woke up at 7am to get ready to check out and catch my flight and NO water!!! No explanation just that they were working on it. I understand things happen but I had to spend my travel day unshowered. Luckily we had 3 large bottles of water in our mini fridge that was cold we used to freshen up. I did enjoy myself but I really don’t think I’d recommend this resort and definitely won’t be coming back
