The Queen's Hotel is in great condition for a grand old building. The Palm Court style restaurant is very attractive. Generous free parking is a welcome feature.

I stayed in a single room, or should l say shoe box. The room was more like a corridor with a single bed on it, terrible to say the least and charged £241 for two nights. It the third time (will be last) lve stopped at the Queens Hotel in the last 2 moths and second time the lift was not working, luckily lm quite fit and can readily use the stairs, but on several occasions there were elderly/infirm people struggling on the stairs! Management where not helping or ensuring an accident did not occur! Shame on you management not to inform potential guests before booking!

A lovely stay at a really impressive hotel. The hotel is stunning, it’s right on the seafront with free parking. The grandeur of this building is impossible to ignore. Our room had a sea view, it was quite small but perfect for one night. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely book here again. Thank you 😊

I’ve walked past this hotel on many occasions without realising how nice it is inside. The staff were great, particularly Tilly on reception who was really helpful. I enjoyed a very pleasant meal and bottle of wine in the bar. Highly recommended if you’re in Portsmouth.

Great rooms but could use air conditioning for the summer and then also the bathroom plexiglass could be improved. The water gets all over the floor regardless of you move the plexiglass.

We liked the size of our room and the facilities were fine for what we wanted. It was a short notice visit. We were disappointed with the smell in the room as it was very smoky, clearly someone had smoked out of the window and the smell had got into the sheets. It wasn’t so bad we felt we needed to complain at the time but had this been a special occasion we would have. Otherwise a comfortable night.

Clean throughout and well-presented Hotel with well-appointed rooms Our room backed onto Osborne St, so some light noise from surrounding night clubs but nothing too bad, At times Breakfast service was disjointed with different staff attending our table, at least we were not ignored! Shops and tourist attractions within 10-20 minute walk, Bus stop out the front. Definately worth staying when visiting Portsmouth.

Very clean upgraded room in an old building. Smelly elevator and basement exit to street. Lobby dated but well kept. Front courtyard splendid with lots of seating and view to sea. Staff very helpful.Did not dine in. Local shopping 5 min walking distance. Good restaurants,train station & wharf 5 mins with Uber.

A very basic hotel. Cost doesn’t quite associate with this hotels basicness. Downstairs is gorgeous, The rooms are the disappointment. Some of the staff were a little frosty and unwelcoming, one lady on the evening shift however was absolutely lovely. Mould in the bathroom which is always a bugbear of mine.

We stayed 2 nights at the queen's hotel- the facilities/decor was a bit worn, but was still pleasant. There was some mold in the bathroom, otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. Having only a few outlets in the room was challenging. The staff was very pleasant.

Was v disappointed as we got little sleep. The room was v hot even with fan on and window opened. The pillow were v hard and next door there was a party going on at 2.30 in morning.so it wasn't v relaxed at all. Room was smaller than expected, bed was pushed up the wall which caused a problem getting in and out of bed, but was very clean and had everything we needed. Outlook was horrible looking over the back of the building and a dome like roof and a loud constant dripping sound most of the night when the window was open. Apart from thst we had a nice stay hotel is lovely.

I stayed here for one night and was very impressed with the decor in reception. The lift up to my floor was slow but when I got to my room, it was spacious, light and clean. I was very pleased and the bed was great

Although a Good location . Rooms are somewhat basic . Unfortunately our room was at the side of building , our window above a road junction , scaffolding and work being carried out on building across road. This hotel was recommended to us by a family member who stays in the area. Three members of our family came down from Scotland and booked into hotel. We were shocked when this hotel did not accept Scottish banknotes , in bar area . Staff were nice but they had to ask hotel manager if they were allowed to accept these who point blankly said NO. We did not drink or eat at this hotel after this incident , deciding we would rather spend our cash elsewhere. We found good resturants and bars closeby ( who all accepted Scottish notes ) Be aware if you are travelling from Scotland , this hotel does not accept our Scottish notes as sterling. I wont be returning , and my family member staying closeby to hotel certainly wont be recommending this hotel again.

Great location, just by the seafront in Southsea. Very close to the eclectic Southsea centre with it's many restaurants & bars. A great place to stay to explore the wider area. Right on the bus route as well so very easy access to Gunwharf Quay & the old naval museum with the Mary Rose, which is a must visit if you haven't done it already. If you do stay at the hotel there was a 20% naval museum discount for us curtesy of the Queens hotel.

A two night birthday stay. The location was great and the rooms were lovely and had obviously been tastefully refurbished recently. Very conveniently placed for Old Portsmouth, D-Day Museum, Southsea Common and Gunwarf Quays. Only comment some corridors smelt a bit musty but then it is over 200 years old and the hot water was a bit in short supply on our second morning.

Poor room, poor view, nice staff, part cold cooked breakfast Had to return a beer twice because it was off, barman eventually replaced it with a bottle but did not adjust the £1.50 price difference.

Beautiful and elegant hotel with incredibly lovely staff. Stayed a couple of nights for victorious festival and we had an unbelievable view of the main stage - such a bonus. Would absolutely come back - especially for the breakfast and fantastic cocktails.

The whole experience was wonderful. I felt very spoilt. Food was outstanding. Perfect location for visiting the Portsmouth Naval Memorial which was one of the reasons I chose the hotel.

The hotel looks really good though out including our lovely room with a sea view. The staff were very friendly although there was no one there to carry your bags up a very imposing set of front steps. The restaurant was a bit of a let down as for some reason the music that was chosen to play was jazz which really did not match the beautiful surroundings and they played it in the evening as well as the morning, I thought it was me but I heard other customers complain about the noise. But it's not all bad, my solution was not to use the restaurant again and by that I found some really good places that are local with great aesthetics especially in the music department and great food
