GR Solaris Caribe Adults Only - All Inclusive

The property is well kept. The staff is very efficient and extremely courteous! We were there for our 20th wedding anniversary July 31-Aug 3rd. We experienced one of the coolest things EVER on the beach!! Two nights in a row we walked the beach about 9pm and there were multiple female sea turtles coming on land to bury their eggs! It was incredible! They are protected so once they returned to sea, the workers watching them dated each nest. The incubation is 50-70 days. I wish we could return to see them hatch!! Our only dislike of the property was a lack of evening entertainment.

The resort was a short drive from Cancun airport. The staff were all very helpful. Property was clean and well kept. It is joined with its sister resort, Royal Solaris, so we had the use of their facilities as well. We preferred to stay on the GR side though as it is a smaller and quieter resort. We had great meals at the A la Cartes and the breakfast buffet in the Solaris Cafe was excellent. This resort is at the beginning of the hotel strip so you would need to take the bus to get to the shops. Just a few cons for us: - Although the beach was nice and there were lots of chairs, we weren’t able to swim much as red flags were posted all week. We had a couple of days where one small section had a yellow flag. Hopefully it was just a fluke of the weather that week. - Our room was on the 4th floor. We had to climb many stairs to get to it. There were a lot of stairs all over the resort to get to different places. - The air conditioner was quite loud. Our room had a bit of a smell to it. - The resort was a bit outdated. We would have liked to have a balcony off our room. - The lobby bar was small so not really anywhere to go for a drink in the evening. No beach bar either. So had many stairs to climb to go for water, etc.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. However, the GR Caribe which is undergoing renovation shouldn't be opened until completed. There was no internet, the elevator wasn't working,

Property going through major updates. Found a really cool speak easy on the property and there's a nice quiet rooftop bar area that's brand new. The price is great and the specialty dining was great

Beautiful property, excellent service, extremely clean, food and drinks were great, pool was amazing, beautiful beachfront. Only improvements they should do is the WiFi situation it’s not that good and also more outlets in the rooms.

The property is nice but some areas are under construction. The food is really good. If you want to rest and relax this is the place but if you want party and have fun this is not for your.

Im gonna start with the good. The property was clean. The staff were friendly. It was right on the beautiful blue beach. I enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi overlooking the beach. Now to the not so good part. The bars shut down at midnight. All the restaurants are closed by 10 pm. They offer room service for $5.00. The first night I got there kind of late so I ordered room service but forgot to take the do not disturb sign off so they left a note on the door. I ordered it again and still got charged for the order I didn't get. I brought it up to Pedro who called to verify spoke solely in spanish while I stood there and then said I would still be charged for food I didnt get. On top of that when I did get my order I didnt receive the french fries I ordered so they had to come back yet again. The food was bland not worth paying anything extra for. They give you beer in the fridge but my room didnt have a bottle opener in which I continued to ask for one and never received one. They sent someone to confirm my room did not have one built into the wall and never gave me one. I had to go out to find someone in the lobby whenever I wanted a beer. They also put me in a handicap assessable room in which I did not request and called it an upgrade. If you are into a resort with a nice nightlife this isnt for you in fact it was a lot of retirees that came in packs. Almost felt like a senior citizen resort. Overall I give it a 3 star but would of given it a 4 star if it wasn't for Pedro.

Property is dated, needs renovation. Furniture looks old , buildings could use a full renovation. Love the beach, Gr caribe doesn’t have a restaurant to use with out reservations at night.

The property itself is fine. However, the dining options are poor. You have to use an app that is very poor quality to book reservations. Menus are limited. The open buffet restaurant doesn’t advertise what theme nights they have, so there is no way to know what is a good night. The pools close at 7pm.

undergoing renovations, poor to no Wi-Fi access in the rooms. Elevator didn’t work. Meats with sometimes under cooked. Very nice property.Very nice staff. Great location. Convenient for the price. Upon arrival you get hounded to sit and schedule an appointment to listen to a hotel club membership before you get to see your room.

The property is in urgent need for a renovation. I saw cockroaches in the hallway. A couple of those even made into our room. There are a few open to the sky spaces without proper grading that leads to water pooling up so you have to tip toe around it. Few of the lift buttons were not working. I saw exposed wiring from the wall lamps in the corridor. Mold along the grout lines. All in all a bit too shabby. Won’t recommend.

Just returned from an incredible stay at GR Solaris Caribe Resort and I can’t say enough good things about it. The staff went above and beyond from the moment we checked in friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. The rooms were spotless, the views were stunning, and the resort was beautifully maintained throughout. The food and drinks were far better than what you typically expect at an all-inclusive, great variety, fresh options, and no shortage of made-to-order meals. We especially loved the poolside service and nightly entertainment, which gave the whole place an energetic yet relaxed vibe. Whether you're looking to unwind by the ocean, enjoy great service, or just escape into a stress-free vacation, GR Solaris delivers. Already looking forward to our next visit.

I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw cocroches in the hallway. That ended my vacation. Will not be returning to this resort. ....

Hotel was clean

Property is well maintained. Room was beautiful and clean. All staff I encountered were very nice and helpful. Hotel is right on the beach. Only complaint would be the food. It was hard to get a reservation and the buffet food was terrible.

Property was nicely kept. Room felt like the walls were super thin and the outside noise was so load you’d think we left our door open.

My friends and I were there for 5 days. We had a great time there. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were very nice. We felt welcomed despite the WiFi service. We were not able to get the network inside our rooms.

We love that it was a quiet hotel. The pool area is clean (but very cold water) and the volume of the music was so decent. Snacks and bar is decent too. We had issues with A/C, maintenance arrive quick, but unfortunately the issue wasn't resolved. The rooms are very clean but the mattresses were a little hard and uncomfortable. Fits one person each (when two beds in a room). The beach was clean and nice, but there is no food/bar service near by.

We spent 3 nights at GR Caribe. We were upgraded to an ocean front room upon arrival which was awesome! The room was very clean. However, the bathroom was pretty small. The shower and toilet were in the same space and it was cramped. The property as a whole is a bit dated. The elevators in particular are horrible! One of them stops at every single floor even if no one is getting on or off which was annoying. Several staff told us they were getting new elevators installed by the end of the month. The food was pretty good. The breakfast buffet was really good and the poolside restaurant with the burgers. We didn’t stay long enough to try all the restaurants but we highly recommend Marco Polo. We ate there on the last night and it was excellent! Great food and service! The beach is beautiful…the best I’ve seen so far in the Caribbean!

The room was nice and the Plunge pool out back was totally worth it. the staff was very nice until it came to check out. It seemed a bit like checking out of a hospital. I did go back a days later and they had found my buddies shoes. they were very nice staff and the beach was so close and clean. The food was sub par. I am not a drinker but all my travel buddies are and they were not happy that the bar service was not open till 11am and closed at 11pm. Also one bar tender at the pool bar could not keep up at all. It was a long wait to get a drink. We also got kicked out of the hot tub at 7pm nad that was kinda lame cause there was nothing else to do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at GR Solaris. We booked the sea view room with private plunge pool overlooking the beach and seconds away from the sea. The coffee shop was conveniently situated a minute away and the restaurant meals were 10/10. The chef came out to greet us and the service was spectacular. There aren’t any activities on site but we had access to Royal Solaris which had daily shows. They have a VIP lounge onsite which is open till 2am daily. The breakfast buffets are like typical buffets with the same meals daily. However, the key is to focus on quality meals and enjoying those rather than quantity for the sake of trying everything. The property is beautiful and there were barely any lines or waiting. You should make dinner reservations as soon as you check in. Also we arrived at 8am and even though check in was at 3pm, they gave us a wristband to begin enjoying amenities immediately and gave us our room at 10am as soon as it was ready. Finally if you enjoy a quiet resort with additional amenities and entertainment this is great. If you’re looking for a resort with more amenities, hustle bustle, large crowds, and around the clock entertainment, I would look elsewhere. This is a budget friendly resort and worth the money. I’d like to give a shout out to our waiter Misrain at Veneto who provided the best service. We were assigned a personal service rep Kenia who took so much care of us and provided a courtesy fruit basket and treats during our stay. 5 stars ⭐️

Second stay at this hotel and it was just ok this time. Beds were terribly uncomfortable and room was smaller than last time we stayed. Foods is good, but breakfast staff is not very attentive, hard to get coffee. Overall good experience.

The beach was beautiful. The first room we were in was beachfront but no balcony and was very noisy from the adjoining room. The property was a little old but very nice. Moved to a room with plunge pool and it was better and worth the $$$.

The GR Solaris Caribe and Royal Solaris both had a team of staff that treated us like family! We felt the genuine warmth in their customer service. Both resorts were clean and enjoyable, and attention to detail was outstanding. Mariam and Kenia, from guest services, went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of, as did Darwin and Lilian during our dining experiences. We felt like we were leaving behind family when we left.

They looped us into a 90 minute presentation to become a “member” and get cheaper stay in future. Near the end we figured it was just a timeshare presentation ( they name it something else) that needs thousands of dollars upfront cost. The high pressure sales pitch ruined our day and it took close to 2.5 hours. In the end they gave some useless freebies like a tshirt and a bag with their branding. They also gave a free photo session which we did not use. Future guests, Please decline invitation for “member preview” stuff. It’s going to ruin a day of your vacation.

Family friendly resort, food is okay limited dining selection. This was my second visit in two years but will probably be my last. Guest service rep was incompetent and almost caused me to miss my shuttle transportation at check out. She tells me that there’s a balance from a restaurant the night prior. This restaurant required reservation ahead of time done through the app. I never made a reservation never stepped foot in there. She tells me they have receipt with my signature on it allegedly. They bring the card and it’s a completely different printed name and signature. I explain that’s not me look at my passport and look at my prior restaurant reservations. She doesn’t listen to a word i say and insists thats my signature even telling me Brian was the waiters name as if I can’t read . maybe language was a barrier if so they shouldn’t have someone with limited english at front! I tell her i have to go she calls the security and tells them i didn’t pay. I decided to just pay and call later for a refund because shuttle was leaving me. I call once i get to the airport and a guest service rep before i even gave my name said were you in this room #, he then says my supervisor looked into this and there was a mistake you're getting a refund. The mistake isn’t my problem, mistakes happen however it was how she handled it very unprofessional and treated me as though I was trying to get away without paying my dues! I was very embarrassed and offended by her behavior towards me.

Staff was great. Ignacio from las fuentes restaurant treated us very nice and went out of his way to create a wonderful experience. Ricardo from Cafe Solaris made sure were happy with the food. Sergio from the lobby bar was very nice. Overall a great week at GR Solaris Caribe.

Our flight was strongly delayed due the winter weather conditions, we spent all night at the airport and were able to get to the hotel in the morning. It was only 9am, I was looking for a front desk person to check in and finally start our trip. Daniel, who was sitting on the side, rolled his eyes on us, came to the front desk, and told me to come back at 3pm. I know we supposed to be there last night, but our flight was delayed and trust me, spending night at the airport instead of hotel, which we paid for, wasn’t a pleasure. He only rudely said „it was no show” and ignored my questions, asking to wait at the lobby for another 6 hours. Thanks God for another HUMAN at the front desk, Adrian. When they switched I went there again to ask if we can leave our baggages somewhere and eat, it’s been exhausting journey for us, he was very sweet, explained us that we can get a breakfast literally next door, leave the suitcases and even take a shower at the gym, which the first person didn’t even mention and ask me to just come back at 3pm. He even got us a room, that we „supposed to” wait for 6 hours. I never got my $ back for the extra day we “no show”, my late check out was declined too. Overall the hotel staff is super nice, from cleaning service to waitresses, except the one not very welcoming guy on the front everyone were just excellent over the trip. It was hard to make reservation, but The French restaurant was amazing! Rough start- great trip!

This is the sister resort to Royal Solaris. Not much to offer for families pertaining to room accommodation. On-going construction with a constant damp odor on the ground rooms. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star resort, but the use of the connecting resort helps to ease your stay. The staff was great but the reps were a bit annoying with their constant questions on when did you arrive to schedule you for their pitch for timeshares meeting.

We loved the customer service, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the breakfast. However, there are several issues that the hotel needs to address. The food at the buffet was not the best. I understand that we probably visited during the beginning of the slow season, and the kitchen staff was new. I believe they should receive proper training before handling guest orders. Another issue was with the front desk; they never had change available to give back, either in dollars or Mexican pesos, which was inconvenient. We have stayed at Solaris two times now, and honestly, this time was not the best. I would like to give five stars to the housekeeping team members and the servers in the restaurants for their excellent service.also 5 stars to Hermelina the lady that works by the pool making pizzas.. they were amazing.

Property away from busy downtown. Very close to airport and night life. As well as ports to get to different places like Isla Mujeres.

I highly recommend staying at GR Solaris you relax by the pool but if want more party you can also walk to Royal Solaris pool area they both have excellent service. The hotel Is close to airport ,close to the shopping center la isla and the night clubs. Good location I always stay at GR Solaris two or three times a year.

The beach is good, free canoeing at a beautiful lake. Food is not bad with restaurants in two hotels.

LOCATION

This property is a little dated but a great place to stay for the price. Service and location are excellent. if you are going to Cancun to use the beach, this is perfect. No long walk or shuttles to get to the beach like the huge resorts. Staff was super friendly. This is a great place overall. If you want to go to the mall, you can take the public bus for $1. it stops in front of hotel and they come by every 2 minutes. Very convenient. This is an affordable hotel. Everything is great for what you pay. The hotel is older but still a great stay.

Excellent location near ocean, good food - great staff. We went as a family our kids enjoyed different swimming pools, various food options, great views - building was little dated but well maintained. Staff is so good - we had ocean view it was very close to ocean it was fantastic - Thank you team for doing great job - it was our first time but will plan to visit again

We enjoyed our family vacation here. Overall friendly staff and nice property. Food was okay, not spectacular. Beach was clean with clear water - spectacular. Very good resort for the price. I would return but likely would not want to stay for more than a week because of the limited food options.

Pretty decent for the price, my one complaint was the food. Each restaurant serves 5-6 meals and it doesn't change. So, if you're a picky eater like me, you're out of luck.

Outside of some food options—- for all inclusive—- party food was the main course. Chicken nuggets, tacos. You need to make reservations for everything else. Not ideal for being on vacation and not wanting to make plans. Otherwise. Staff— excellent. Building— excellent. Area—excellent. Loved it and will go back.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were reasonable clean. The daily buffet needs to be improved with more variety. Every day was the same thing at lunch and dinner. By our fifth day, we decided to dine out as we were tired of eating the same thing everyday.

Very cheap on buffet food. One night at 7:00 pm they supposedly ran our of fried whole fish. They still had 3 hours remaining. They only had fish for one hour, and that is rediculos. I will never recommend thos hotel. Food outside at the snack bar by the pool, was terrible

I love this place , except the buffet area. This really matters in an all inclusive place, since this one don’t have much variety. Other things are very good and well accommodated.

el lugar es muy tranquilo el personal principalmente del bar, súper que atentos , en general todo está muy bueno , solo deberían de trabajar en lo que es el bufet (no hay variedad todos los días lo mismo ) fuera de eso muy buena atención y excelente servicio
