There is no parking lot only street parking in case anyone else misses it in the fine print. The room had a broken shower knob, broken bathroom door handle, and a leaky faucet. Otherwise the bed was super comfy and it's located in a clean walkable area.

Everything was fine for a one night trip. The room was relatively clean but there was an interesting smell. I couldn’t tell if it was the cleaning products or that because it’s a dog friendly hotel, it was a smell I’m not accustomed to. All in all it was OK.

The short version: Looking for a 4-star hotel that isn't downtown? This isn't it. I left and moved to The Oaklander. The long version: The driveway was filled with cars on arrival, so I parked a block away. When I got to the entrance, the valet person was in a little office with their feet up, looking at their phone. Didn't ask if I had a car or needed help...glanced up and went back to their phone. The front desk was junky. I was checked in and handed my key cards and a streaked black-and-white printed sheet of paper with info about the hotel. I started to walk to the elevator and noticed the lobby furniture was in poor repair, with stuffing coming out. The terrazzo floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned... ever? The "premium" room was not like the photos - very sparse (no area rugs or upholstered benches, etc.) and, worse, didn't feel clean. Stains and pulls on the top of the bedding (which makes one wonder how clean it is underneath), other stains on furniture, and the bathroom floor looked unclean. I was afraid to take my shoes off. 😒 I left after 45 minutes to meet my daughter. Came back to get my bags and check out. I thought I would explain to the front desk person why I was leaving, but as I walked up, they were leaning across the desk, pulling something from a colleague's ear with tweezers or something similar. The Oaklander was great.

The staff was very kind and courteous. The wall decor was unique and fun. The breakfast food unfortunately had no flavor and was missing key ingredients like cheese, and ketchup. They didn’t have any apparently. There were no desserts to order from the dessert menu the night before either. They don’t really have any understanding of how to make coffee drinks. Parking is very difficult and expensive. The beds were quite hard and we had nails sticking up from the hardwood floors. There were no carpets in any kind in the room. The floor had some kind of cleaning residue on it. Location was good for our purposes, but probably won’t be staying there again.

You’re paying for the location with this hotel. The staff was kind, but the room felt outdated. The wall unit air conditioner was rather loud, waking me up a few times during the night, and the comforter was a little thin.
