Amigo Motor Lodge

It was so comfy and welcoming. Each morning there was free coffee and a grab and go breakfast, along with free use of a hot tub, and hammock chairs. This place was within walking distance of a Walmart, a great Mexican restaurant, and many gift shops. I couldn’t recommend it enough, and we are already planning on coming back next year !!

So much value for our stay! We typically don't want to hang out at motels we stay at but the rooms and outdoor spaces were so comfortable that we wanted to hang out. Staff was very friendly, and beds were very comfortable. Only minor issue was weak wifi but not a huge worry since we were there for outdoor activities.

Fantastic experience! Rooms are newly renovated and super clean and comfortable! We loved all the thoughtful amenities - from the vibey lounge room, to the steamy hot tub, to the cozy hammocks - we felt like we were living in luxury for a very reasonable and affordable price point. This will be our new go-to lodging anytime we’re visiting Salida. Can’t recommend enough!

I surprised my husband with this "glamping" experience on a Colorado roadtrip getaway. I highly recommend staying in the Velma -- an Airstream. It was very fun. The staff is SO NICE and everything was very clean and well-maintained. The towels were plush and the grounds had a fire pit, cornhole and a nice big hot tub. The location is very convenient, just a short drive to the river and downtown area. The 5 Airstreams share a bathhouse with two nicely appointed bathroom/shower areas. They were very clean and we never had to wait.

TV and Ice Machine were broken and staff were unresponsive.

Amigo Motor Lodge in Salida delivers on style, comfort, and hospitality. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the room was spotless, and the décor felt thoughtfully curated. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the shared spaces (hot tub, lounge areas, etc.) made it easy to unwind. Even without on-site dining, the quality of the stay and attention to detail make this a place I’d gladly return to.

The accommodations were incredible. The feel of the property was exactly what you would hope for. The friendliness of the staff was the absolute best. Fire pit, hot tub, games, hammocks, beautiful setting.

Love this place! Provides everything we need with a fun atmosphere. Friendly staff, squeaky clean, great hot tub. We will be back!

The Amigo Motor Lodge is fun, creative, convenient, and comfortable! #1 - The beds are incredibly comfortable and uses nice sheets. The bottom sheet is actually a real fitted sheet. It's not one of those folded top sheets that come untucked as soon as you sit on it. #2 The cool retro red mini- refrigerator is fantastic. It holds a ton and it has a REAL FREEZER section with it's own separate door so you can re-freeze blue ice or other reusable ice packs. #3 You can park your car right in front of your room. All the rooms are on one level, no second floor. #4 It is very quiet. There was NO street noise and we were in room 17 which is closest to the street. No problem. #5 It is very creatively designed with fun thoughtful touches. #6 The staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. When I read other reviews stating that there was no coffee maker in the room, I called ahead and requested one if they had one and/or an electric kettle; they put both a Keurig coffee maker in the room for us (with 4 Keurig cups) and an electric kettle. Very impressive service. They DO plan to put coffee makers in ea room #7The room was large and plenty big enough for ski gear or other items needed for a mountain vacation. #8 It had some fun elements like a game room, outdoor fire pit, indoor sun room with a fire and a jacuzzi. We did not use these this time but hope to next time. #8 The Lodge is close to fantastic Restaurants. I'm out of space! But I could go on! It has real room KEYS!

The room was very clean and modern, and the staff very helpful. The bed was very comfortable! Worth the money.

My husband and I stayed at the Amigo Motor Lodge last weekend and had a mostly pleasant experience. We loved that it’s pet-friendly, and the decor was absolutely charming. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides: the bathroom fan was broken, the TV didn’t have channel access, and we found some trash left behind by previous guests. While we understand it’s a budget-friendly, 2-star motel and adjusted our expectations, these issues were a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the hot tub was a great bonus, and the ice-cold drinking water in the lobby was refreshing. Breakfast is minimal—grab-and-go options like muffins, granola bars, or oatmeal—but the coffee was fantastic! Overall, it’s a good value for the price, especially in the off-season.

Stayed in the airstream for one evening as we passed through Salida. Great staff, clean room and the shared bathrooms were also spotless. Quirky, great place to stay. Really enjoyed it.

Really nice upgrade of a classic motel along the Rainbow Highway in Salida. The room was super comfortable with really nice touches. The bathroom was super clean with a nice tub and good water pressure. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows are terrible and need to be replaced (not to mention that they are too small for a king bed). Also, the A/C is far too small for the room, and the room was very warm, so if you need a cool room to sleep, I recommend opening the window, even in the winter. I do wish that they had the top-down, bottom-up shades so you can have privacy with an open window, but I do like the shades they have as they let in a nice, diffuse light. The common area for playing games and just chilling is wonderful, and is great for groups staying in different rooms. The service was awesome and the staff super friendly.

Location was perfect. Airstream was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were immaculate. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the laid back and comical twist that was added to signs around facilities.

Nice staff. Breakfast was a misnomer with juice, coffee and packaged muffins. Shower liner was covered in mold and room had a peculiar odor from whatever they used to clean it. It was worth a try, just not right for a couple in their 60’s.

This place is so cute- lots of details that make it feel homey. The staff was very helpful and kind. Comfy beds and clean rooms. We stayed in an Airstream and a room, both felt dusty and musty and had an underlying “People smell”. Great price

Great place to stay for one night as we were passing through town to head west. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Only negatives were the thin walls - we could hear guests in an adjoining room. Breakfast was grab and go, which suited our needs, and the coffee was good.

I travel for work. Always stay with a major chain. That chain isn’t here so rolled the dice at the Amigo. Couldn’t be happier. Clean. That’s first for me. Spacious room. Comfortable. Easy parking. Great staff. Kate is the best. And to top it off as needed grab when you want glass water bottles from the lobby fridge. I’d stay longer but the word is out and no availability for my stay in Salida. Stay here.

Overall, good stay especially for one night. Easy to navigate to, check-in was quick and reception staff very friendly. Rooms have window cooler for A/C that pretty much runs constantly so a bit noisy for myself to sleep through. Room and bathroom were clean and parking right in front of our room, which is a great asset for many "motel" type accommodations.

We started in Merle. The airstream was clean and cute. We will definitely stay again. We wish we'd arrived earlier so we could have made a fire in the lobby before it closed. The coffee in the morning was really tasty. A couple of tips: 1. There aren't bathrooms in the airstreams. It's not far but there are only two toilets and two showers, so plan ahead. 2. There are TVs in airstreams, but no television service, so they are unusable unless you have a streaming service.

Old-style hotel fixed up very nicely. Management worked with us and even changed rooms to make us more comfortable.

Person at desk helped clear up a mistake about the reservation and was friendly and helpful. On the outside looked like an old motel but the rooms were modern, clean and well furnished.

This hotel stay was a last minute unplanned stopped in between destinations. It turned out to be one of the cutest hotels we have ever been to. The staff were all super friendly, and helpful. The room was immaculate, comfortable and private. Everything about it. I love this place. Salida was an unknown place, now I want to go back!

Very nice place! We stayed in a vintage airstream trailer. Great, clean quiet, nice furnishings in line with the 1950’s theme. Close to town with coffee shops, restaurants, breweries within walking distance.

The room was clean and very cute, and the bed was comfortable. We unplugged the mini-fridge, though, because it made a high-pitched noise. There was also some noise from the other side of the wall (possibly the ice machine.) The staff was friendly, and the location (just off the highway) was convenient.

This stay was excellent! The airstream was clean and had a mini fridge which was perfect. Parking was accessible. The shared bathroom facilities were spotless, and the hot tub was also sanitary! The staff were friendly and checking in and out was a breeze. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the downtown area, or a short taxi ride! Was a perfect weekend away. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

We stayed in one of the airstreams and LOVED it! Probably my favorite Motel that I've stayed at so far! Bathrooms for the airstream folks were spacious, modern and super clean. Front desk staff super friendly and lots of places to hang out and chill on the property. Only complaint would be the extremely limited offerings for the 'breakfast'.
