Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Lubbock Southwest

We stayed 2 nights to move our son home from Texas Tech for the summer. We prepaid for 3 nights but didn’t stay the third night. They did give me a refund for the night we didn’t stay. The Hotel was clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the room had a mini fridge and microwave. The outdoor area and pool was nice but it was too cold to swim. The outdoor cushions were a little dirty though and the fire was not turned on. The staff was very nice but the breakfast was a huge letdown. There were only a few options and it was never restocked once it ran out. We didn’t even eat the second morning because all of the food was gone by 8am and the coffee was terrible. It was Very disappointing. There was also no bartender at the “bar” so if you are leaning towards staying based on that it’s not really operational. Definitely not a fun bar scene to unwind like some hotels have. It was 2 beers in a cooler with no attendant. Overall stay was ok. Five minutes to campus.

Hotel is ok to stay at. Front desk lady was very rude to check in. Pool was closed. Breakfast was not great. The hotel is outdated and rooms have a smell. Will not stay here again.

The person at front desk was VERY helpful and informative about area surrounding hotel. I was expecting a fitness center with a little better equipment. That’s the main reason I stayed at this hotel. The treadmills were so outdated and only 1 worked half way correctly. It would be a better investment to have 1 or 2 Peloton treadmills & 1 bike then continue to spend money on cheap equipment that one of your customers can get injured

The day receptionist was not very friendly. The night one was much better Pool was not open until Friday. Breakfast was par. No milk for my grandsons.

The pool was under construction and when traveling with three children we were very disappointed. No one told us when we made reservations or checked in. My kids just had to look out the window the whole week at a drained pool.

I booked a one night stay for my husband and I, and although it was my fault for not reading the description of the king room before booking, the pictures of the king room show an office area with a couch. My husband wasn't supposed to join me until later in the evening so I was looking forward to getting some work done on my laptop in what looked like a well naturally lit office area. After checking in I headed to my room and noticed that the door was already open. I figured it had just been cleaned but as soon as I walked in I was hit with the smell of mildue. Making the realization that the room actually booked didnt have the open office space or couch and was considerably smaller than the pictures. While it does have a desk area, it was not what I was hoping for when spending over $150 for a room. Moreover, I was hoping to get into the outdoor pool as it is still summer in Texas and one of the primary purposes I booked this hotel. As I picked up the phone in my room I noticed it wasn't working at all even plugged in. So I Googled the hotel's number so I could ask the front desk how late the pool was open, and I was told until 10pm. Upon walking down to the pool noticed it was dark, no lights in or around the pool, no towels, no people period which at that point made sense. The website shows hammocks in the pool area, and while the frames for the hammocks were set up, no hammocks. At that point we decided to get in our cars and go home. So disappointing...

Ice machine was out on our floor

Staff need to wear a badge or something that identifies them as staff. Be more friendlier and have better hotel conditions. The elevator was not working and I asked how long it would take to repair and the answer was, “very much” I think that is not an appropriate answer.

The staff was super friendly and were a 10/10 I couldn't have asked for better experience with them. The rooms were VERY clean. However, the condition of the hotel was awful. Elevators didn't work so we had to take the stairs. The exterior door near the elevators was broken. and our room would hear the sliding doors of the lobby open and close ALL NIGHT LONG. If they fixed those few items we would stay there again. Again VERY CLEAN and Very friendly staff. This is an ownership issue.

Sheets were dirty, restroom was dirty and we could not even get an extra blanket. The refrigerators were broken and no snack options.

Checked in and went straight to the pool which smelled like fish and is straight salt. Went to dinner and came to our room to see pee stains on our sheets, burn marks all over the curtains. Hair everywhere. The walls are disgusting and the elevator has stains all over the flooring. For this to be a “new” hotel, it looks worse than some of the older ones we have stayed at. Would not recommend.

Mis Lilly and staff were awesome . Only issue the breakfast area wasn’t very clean- the lady did keep it clean. Hotel does need some TLC and more cleaning. Someone next door to us was smoking weed. People above us were so loud woke us up - called front desk and taken care of promptly.

We asked for housekeeping every day, and our room was never cleaned.

Found dirty sports bra and panties beside bed in floor. Service dest said there was nothing they could do aboutit because I used hotel.com to book room. Will never stay at that hotel again. Give it a 0 out of 10.

Check-in and check-out were fast, and they were attentive and quick to fix our issues. That said, we did run into a few problems. Our toilet barely had any flushing power, we found a pair of shorts and pants left in the restroom, and our comforter had lipstick stains. The room also had a damp smell that was stronger in the bathroom. When we asked to switch rooms, unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. The staff did address the issues by removing the clothes, fixing the toilet, and changing the sheets. The rest of the stay was fine, but breakfast was underwhelming, so we chose to eat elsewhere. Overall, the hotel has potential, especially with its great staff and convenient location, but with the room issues, I’m not sure if I’d stay here again.

The room was great, the AC worked great, everything was super clean & fresh. The only thing I saw as something that could use improvement was your liquid body wash & shampoo. They were so diluted that they were like washing with water only. Not sure if your staff is trying to save $ by diluting it but it was pretty bad. The other nitpick is …one ply bath tissue. Really? At a Marriott? Not only one ply but very thin ply. You know people use twice as much than if you just used two ply. Not really a savings there. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Front desk individuals are polite and courteous. I do not like that you need to schedule room cleaning. I did one day and they never cleaned the room.

I would have given it 5 stars, but room service skipped our room for both days we were there.

There was no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash in the dispenser. *I did not ask for any cause we happened to have some in our bags.

Very well located. Small but clean rooms. Had all the facilities one needs for an overnight stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My room that I stayed in was close to a Main Street and I heard cars all night. Also the A/C unit was making a noise.

I had a room that needs updating as the AC unit is older and it makes a very loud sound so this made it hard to sleep! At times it was very loud, unfortunately not much rest.

Everything was amazing but the bed, a little too worn out.

We were fortunate to have a guest in a room on the floor above ours that they had to get up and stomp across their room at least once every hour all night long. The road noise and the AC also didnt allow is to get much sleep.

The hotel staff was so kind. We came in later than I thought and they were super understanding. My only complaint is that the bed was not comfortable… it was a little on the hard side. And the sheets weren’t very soft. But the area is so nice seemed pretty safe. Great for families, many amenities near by.

i liked that there was shopping within a walkable distance. The hotel was in good condition and clean. The bed was too firm for me, and the comforter was light without an extra blanket in the room. The weather was poor so didnt get to use the pool. Due to time zone difference, and breakfast being over at 9am, I missed it every morning except one. The cable was messed up until our last day which was frustrating.

Could not sleep all night. The walls and windows were super thin. Could hear everything going on upstairs and the rooms next to us.

They switched me hotels to another hotel and did not even let me know. I showed up to check in, and had no Idea I had been moved down the street.

Traveled with my daughter. The staff was incredible and very friendly. The hotel was clean and we felt safe. I would stay here again.

My family stayed 1 night. The front desk evening and morning staff were great, very friendly and fixed the tiny issue of the hair dryer not working. The beds were so comfortable. It was very clean, I did not find any issues at all. This will be our first choice when staying in Lubbock again.

Everything was good in relation with the stay. The only BIG complaint I have is that even when I paid the room in advance thru Hotels.com, when I checked-in at 11pm the person in shift charged me the incidental deposit but also de charge for the room. I told him I did prepay for the room but he said he couldn’t see that in the system and couldn’t do anything to help, he suggested I talk to the manager next morning. I did talk to manager next morning and she kindly said the mistake will be fixed. One week and three calls later, I keep receiving the same feedback: “we’ll take care of it”. I know they are going to fix it, and I’ll get the funds back, but the EXPERIENCE was messed up by the issue and I will rather to not prepaid in the future so I avoid the situation again.

This was our first time at this hotel and it did not disappoint. From the very friendly and helpful front desk clerk to the cleanliness of the rom, everything was better than you could ask for. Would stay there again

Not a thing! Very unhappy!! Room flooded and front desk Lisa and Tiffany would not offer any assistance. Lisa said no rooms available to move us to. Tiffany would not even call Maintenance. I feel both front desk employees did not try hard enough to accommodate even after I mention that I was a member and had made a mistake not knowing that I had membership discounts with this hotel! Inappropriate and felt it could of been even a little racial!

I wish I remembered the employee’s names! They were all very good! Helpful and observant! Great service!! Love the staff!!

I had someone come in my room in the middle of the night. The hotel must have given someone the wrong room but not only did it scare me but it ruined my sleep and entire stay. Then my room key wouldn't work and the attendant up front would not replace the key and said I already checked out.

Beautiful hotel with the most comfortable beds and fluffy pillows that actually stay fluffy. The staff were very nice. The hotel was very clean and in a great location next to a lot of dining & shopping options.

Property was clean and staff was great. Safe area with several choices of restaurants.

I liked that it was near the freeway and near the Buddy Holly Center.

This is my choice of stay each time I go to Lubbock. It’s also convenient for me. People are pleasant and area is great!

Check-in process was easy. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of cold and hot items. Very convenient to shopping and restaurants. Overall, great hotel!

Looks like a new hotel very new area of town, still lots of building in the area. But the breakfast was bad! Do not plan to eat the waffles, it taste like they used watered down cereal to make the mix. We stayed at three other Fairfield Inns on our trip and the breakfast there was wonderful.

The breakfast was almost nonexistent. When I asked for more foods, the front desk said she would check with the breakfast person and nothing was put out. Multiple people were without anything to eat….not even muffins, bagels, etc

Clean room and good breakfast

This is, hands down, my favorite hotel in Lubbock. I always take my family here when we are in town. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is yummy, and the hotel is clean.
