Occidental Costa Cancún All Inclusive

The place is okay but there are other properties around the same price that offer more things and have more pools, activities, bars, more beach area and better food. The lady at the little convenience store there is very rude!

This resort is clean and the staff are welcoming and attentive. However, even though it’s all inclusive resort, restaurants are limited. You get a number of days depending how long is your stay is to enjoy the restaurants. We stayed for 6 days and 5 nights and were only allowed to eat at the specialty dining restaurants 2 out of those nights the rest were at the buffet. Also food was okay. It was good at the buffet and the restaurants we went to but nothing that stood out and was super delicious. The snack bar that’s at the Lobby has better tasting food in my opinion. The drinks like Bahama mama and Pina Colada were watered down. There is only one main pool and they have a secluded beach swimming area. They have 2 bars one by the beach and one at the lobby, the beach bar closes at 8pm and the lobby at 11pm daily. The bathrooms by the pool area were always dirty or clogged. Other than that we had a great time. They have a number of activities and shows at the resort to keep guest entertainment.

The food in the main dining room was far superior to other all inclusives in a similar price point. The on property restaurants were sub par, and apparently our 3 night stay only included one dinner, a fact we were not informed of until trying to book dinner on night 3. Service was courteous and available, but this is clearly a lower experienced staff compared to other service based hotels in the area at similar price point. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and serviced timely. Couldnt ask for more. Don't plan around the on site entertainment, from pool activities to nightly shows it was produced at the quality of a decent middle school rec program. Location is great if you're doing a boat excursion, directly next door to port, with a nice private beach. Only 2 bars on location but walk up service never lacked and was never over crowded. Biggest turnoff was the unorganized checkin process and the floor manager/concierge more interested in booking time share trips to their sister hotel, biggest plus was the dining room door quality and open bar accessibility. Nothing here made me have to come back, nothing here makes me warn you against going.

The place itself was beautiful and I really enjoyed the pool as well as the nighttime shows they typically had. They also had activity options during the day which kept others occupied. A few things I didn’t like was that my AC was leaking, I’ve gotten locked out of room despite getting key fixed. I also didn’t like the fact that to get a reservation at a restaurant you have to go to the front desk instead of just calling in. If calling in was an option it would make it a lot easier. The buffet was great, no need for reservation. Beach was nice but there is a good amount of seaweed on the beach. I also wish we could’ve went further in the beach water. Overall, I was satisfied with this hotel.

The property was well maintained, the staff was courteous, friendly. The front staff could have been a little more welcoming, they also could’ve had more staff at the front desk at one point there was only 1 person during guest he checking out. The beach area is small and too busy with boats & other motorized vehicles

The property was nice but the beach is limited and there is a ferry next door that is loud that comes and goes every hour. The facilities could use some updating and the shows as well. The food is ok.

We enjoyed our stay at this budget friendly resort. Rooms are a bit outdated and could use a remodel, but they were clean and had everything we needed. Food at the buffet was just okay. They do have a few “specialty” restaurants but they were only slightly better than the buffet. It’s mentioned on their site that you are required to make reservations for the specialty restaurants, which was fine. It was disappointing to learn that you were limited on the number of reservations you could make based on your length of stay. We stayed 4 nights and were only allowed 2 nights at the specialty restaurants. That limitation wasn’t mentioned anywhere. I would have preferred to make a reservation for each night over dining at the buffet. The pool was nice and we never felt it was too crowded. We were disappointed in the beach area, though. It’s very small and felt more like a small lagoon. Boats pass by often and the smell of the exhaust from their motors can get quite strong. If you’re looking to spend more time at the beach, choose a resort in a different location. Staff was very friendly. No complaints there. Drinks are what you’d expect at an all inclusive. Not top shelf or anything, but they do the trick. For a budget friendly option, it was great. Next time, I think we’ll increase our budget and opt for something a little nicer in an area with a nicer beach. Don’t let them sucker you into visiting their sister resort! It’s a presentation for the vacation club!Waste of time!

The facility was clean and staff were friendly. The downside is that the beach is very small and dining options lacking (but not terrible). Oddly, one thing we did have an issue with was getting washcloths. Towels were replenished daily during housekeeping but never the same washcloths which had to be requested and were always shorted by 1 when requested.

Small beach right beside a busy marina. Rooms were cleaned daily and beverage cart restocked in room fridge daily. The staff were wonderful and the grounds were kept tidy and clean. We did not use the spa. We very much enjoyed this quiet family friendly resort. My husband and I differ on the food. He very much enjoyed the seafood restaurant and dinner buffet. We didn’t really enjoy the Mexican restaurant and we did not try the Italian restaurant. One meal we agreed on was the breakfast buffet. It was delicious every time. The wait staff was excellent during the breakfast buffet. Two bars on site in lobby/pool area; the other on the beach. We would recommend this resort to others but would kikely.

Room was clean but the floor was sandy, bathroom sink slow drain/clogged, housekeeper was provided every day, never has to ask for nothing, staff very friendly in the entire facility, even in the pool they offered drinks and towels, staff is amazing My room has a ocean and pool view, was a beautiful view day and night, I really enjoyed, I went for vacation with my sister. Don't waist time with vendors trying to sell memberships for Occidental Vacation Club, I lost more of half of my precious day. And did not get what they promised

Overall stay was good. The room was clean, and housekeeping changed the bedding, towels etc daily. The staff was excellent, they deserve a raise because of how helpful, kind and dedicated they are. Truly a shining star of the stay. The buffet food was not great on the other hand, not much variety, food was recycled, bland, and gave us stomach aches. The hotel was nice, well kept, with a beautiful view of the water.

Quarto tinha cheiro de lixo/esgoto. Reportamos e nada fizeram para solucionar o problema. Nos deixaram sem toalhas no quarto , fui solicitar as mesmas via telefone e o mesmo encontrava-se quebrado , logo , tive que ir até a recepção reclamar e pedir para arrumarem e me entregarem as toalhas. A recepcionista disse que iria enviar , esperamos por 30 minutos e nada. Sai sozinho procurando camareira pra fornecer. Um absurdo. Serviço péssimo. Tentamos reservar jantar e almoço nos restaurantes e não tinha para nenhum dia da hospedagem, isso que logo que fizemos check in já tentamos. Café da manhã com filas enormes. Parecia parque de diversão. Péssima experiência. Nunca mais volto. Viajo o mundo e nunca fui tratado dessa maneira e fui em um ambiente tão desqualificado como este hotel. Não entregam oq vendem na internet

Yes very clean and staffs were very good

I have mixed reviews on the resort, especially being in the first floor. They seem to have a roach situation where they would randomly come out in different areas and I had to get my room change. I had one male supervisor tell me that there wasn’t any rooms available that day, and I had to stay in the room till the next day, which I found odd that an hour later after speaking to another supervisor (female)there was able to change my room that same day which said a lot about the other employee. But other than that, it was OK exactly what you expect for the amount of money That you spent.

The room was ok. The shower was not draining and it smelled like clogged water. The shower walls were a bit dirty it seemed like mold.

Hotel mediocre !!!! A notre arrivée le personnel n était même pas accueillant. De plus, notre chambre était sale, il y avait même des cafards, inconcevable pour un 4 étoiles. Nous avons prévenu la réception qui nous a proposé de mettre du spray anti cafards ?????? C'est uniquement à notre demande qu'ils nous ont changé de chambre. Contenant la nourriture : HORRIBLE Un All inclusive propose généralement une variété de plats, ici non. Les plats n était pas bon. Je ne recommande vraiment pas cet hôtel

The bathroom needs updated to make. Ac didn’t work properly. Shower had mold , sink drain slowly

So upon check in we were supposed to have two beds as it was my best friend and I. They gave us a king. Fine, not the worst thing that can happen. We go to our room, unpacked, i said to my friend it seems kinda warm in here. Turns out, the AC was broken. Now we had to pack it up and get moved to another room. Finally working AC. The showers were a nice size. Unfortunately our shower must of had a clog because 5 minutes into your shower, i filled up like the Hudson riiver. So the next person had to wait until the water went down. I would give the food a 4 at best. We did end up eating out a few times. Staff was great! I came across one very cranky waitress at the Mexican restaurant. That was my only negative with staff. We didn’t have any real seaweed problems so that was a plus:. Overall rating: 4

Booking an ocean view room does not guarantee the views shown in Expedia's photos. When I raised this issue with the front desk, they informed me the hotel was fully booked with no other rooms available. The balcony was tiny—barely enough space to stand, let alone fit a chair. The room itself was small and outdated. Food options were limited, and the Italian restaurant was particularly disappointing. The beach was covered in seaweed, making swimming unpleasant. The resort is small with minimal activities, and the spa needs modernization. This resort feels like a one-star experience. They also push sales pitches right at check-in. I wouldn’t return to this hotel or this part of Cancun—Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya are far better options. I also checked out early due to how unsatisfied I was and they refused to refund the 1 day. The only positive part was the staff, they go above and beyond, from the beach bartenders to the wait staff at Claraboya is exceptional, and staff inside the buffet as well.

reserved 2 rooms that were supposed to be together and have oceanview only one had a clear view with the large balcony and both keys to enter rooms did not work and the rooms were in separate buildings had to return to get keys to work twice at lobby and they did not fix the issue with the rooms being so separate also water had leaked all over the floor in one of the rooms and the other the floor was dirty and had dirt marks everywhere.

They didn't give me the room I asked for. There was something that stung us at night when we were sleeping. The internet didn't work.

Everything was great except for ac in the room. Room was a but stuffy and hot.

Check in took a very long time. I asked for a quieter room, and was switched to a room away from the bar, but right next to the boulevard on one side and the children’s play area on the other. I’m not sure if this was reception being deliberately nasty or maybe this hotel truly has no quiet rooms. Either way, would not recommend.

We stayed a total of 5 nights. During those 5 nights we lost power at least 12 times. We both have sleep apnea and didnt get a decent night sleep the entire time due to our machines shutting off. The food was not at all what we were expecting either. Little variation day to day and most everything had no flavor!

Right upon arrival, you are told that you cannot make dinner reservations until hearing about their “sister properties” and promised promotions if you visit them but being told repeatedly that it wasn’t for a time-share. Then after turning down their offer of visiting another resort when we specifically chose this one, we were told that out of our stay, we could only enjoy one of the restaurants once because everything was booked for reservations. So we paid for an all-inclusive resort, but can only eat at the buffet which was genuinely nothing great. The food at the buffet was not kept hot and was nothing to be impressed with. On our first night in the resort, the lights throughout the resort completely went out twice and the next day “a water line was down” so while showering, the water cut off. The “private beach front” was a complete joke. It was extremely small and covered in seaweed. It barely went knee deep, and was roped off. This was a very disappointing experience and will not be recommending this resort to anyone.

Excellent customer service. It is clean, safe, and well-maintained. There is a variety of food options and they got all we needed to have a fun Cancún vacation. They are affiliated with outside excursions which made it so convenient for us.

Fue terrible desde que llegamos , en la recepción hay un hombre llamado César Rodríguez omg con una actitud terrible , me dejó parada en es mostrador hasta que otra persona vio y me dijo yo la atiendo , enserio terrible , la comida super mala , llego una chica llamada Sindy a quitarme la salsa que tenía en mi mesa fue súper ruda , siempre voy a Cancún estado en muchos hoteles y jamás regreso ahí , ni por qué me lo regalen , nos trataron tan mal aparte que pagamos $1400 por persona para esas instalaciones tan malas . De verdad 0 recomendaciones.

The staff is very respectful, helpful and kind. The resort is super clean and the other guests are respectful. The variety of fresh food at the three restaurants in the resort was awesome. The staff makes every effort to ensure we were comfortable… I give this resort 5 stars for sure

Great resort. Super friendly staff that makes everyone feel welcome. They will go above and beyond for each and every guest. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating to every drink request even when super busy. Good nightly shows with a lot of interaction.

We loved our stay at the resort… pictures asr just as they appear…. the staff was amazing and it was very clean The only thing I felt was off was the room doors Our room faced the street and u can hear traffic all night and u can see the light shining in through the seams of the door… so maybe a door upgrade…the air was not working when I first got there but the maintenance guys came up and fixed it asap No issues there. Maid service was delayed so we had to wait for an additional 45 mins to get to our room.. however they did tell us we could eat and drink and use the facilities while they finished up Overall it was great.

All the staff were super sweet and very attentive to me and my partner made us feel very welcomed had lots of activities throughout the day and many food options to eat. Overall wonderful experience!!

Front desk staff was not friendly. When asked a question they were very dry. A family member called to make arrangements and surprise my husband for his birthday and our room was never decorated. I only heard excuses. Definitely, I will never come back.

The restaurant only has one buffet and one 24 hour snack bar. The 3 restaurants require reservations from your limited vouchers. For example, 5 nights = 2 vouchers (2 reservations). That is the part that isn’t very clear when booking. Also don’t be fooled, the lowest costing room shows a picture of chairs and hammock. It DOES NOT have that. There is a balcony but just enough space for two people to stand. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt very safe and they took my food allergy very seriously and had me wear a special bracelet. Every food place asked me about it right away. Something to note is this hotel has a perfect location. RIGHT NEXT TO THE FERRY to isla mejueres. That is very convenient to know!

The location was perfect, security was right and the reaort was beautiful (beautiful). Very esthetically pleasing. Drinks were ok and plentiful. Buffet was my reataurant of choice daily for most meals. That lunch time whole fried Tilapia omg. Make sure you get that. Staff is friendly. I had a balcony room ooh child i barely wanted to leave the room. TV programming was on point and my hubby was pleased he could see his NBA finals. Beach is so nice but the water was a lil dirty (had to do with the way the sectioned it off). Water skiing option on the beach. Great choice i would stay there again and no need for xabs tge bus is right outside the hotel to take you where you want to go. That bus is a rough ride lol. Overall a great experience. Loved it

Great place to stay, safe and organized.

Occidental Costa was walkable and had easy access to the XCaret Ferry. We used the ferry to go to Isla Mujeres which was a magical place. The food at the property was very good from the buffet and the on-site restaurants which the latter required reservations. For the daytime there were various activities such as pool volleyball, aqua aerobics, cards, and stretching. Roger and Regina were fun activity directors. My boyfriend and I had massages at the spa which were so relaxing. We also accessed the gym which had all the necessary equpment for a good workout. All and all it was a wonderful week of vacation.

I booked all inclusive. Make sure to select how many people are coming so you dont repeat my mistake and you get charged at the current rate for the extra people. Even if the room is for 2 they will charge for each individual. Other than that, the Hotel is good, away from the noises. Rooms are a bit old but clean. Beach is ok. Very shallow. Vibes are good and family friendly

Hotel bonito, buena comida en general, habitaciones cómodas. El personal en su gran mayoría son muy amables. El hotel tiene una excelente ubicación. A unos pasos de la Torre escénica del grupo Xcaret y del embarcadero de donde salen los ferrys a Isla Mujeres. También desde la playa del hotel puedes ver a los barcos piratas de Capitán Hook y los fuegos artificiales que lanzan. Enfrente del hotel puedes tomar el transporte público que pasa cada 2 o 3 minutos y te lleva por toda la zona hotelera o al centro por 12 pesos. Sin duda, me volvería a hospedar ahí.

I was not happy with some of the service. Very misleading with specialty restaurants. You only get to eat at those 1 night if you stay 3 nights or less. Or 2 nights if you stay between 3-5 days. Regular buffets are okay. Also on day of check out , you cant continue to use their services. No more food or pool time/any ammenity.

Breakfast menu needs more selection with more flavor. The bar needs more top shelf liquor selection. They need better entertainment for the night for adults.

I went for the weekend. Is a ok hotel. They dont mentioned in advanced that they don't provide conditioner. Depending on how many days you stay they will tell how many restaurant dinner you can reserve. We only got one and buffet was ok. Besides staff was amazing.

The food variety was terrible; there were even some lunches with almost no protein

Nossa experiência no hotel foi, no geral, muito positiva. O ambiente é tranquilo, familiar e ideal para quem busca descanso, bons momentos à beira da piscina ou da praia e ótimos drinks. Entre os pontos altos, o café da manhã é excelente, muito variado e de alta qualidade. Os funcionários são sempre atenciosos e solícitos, o que faz toda a diferença na experiência. A gastronomia merece destaque: todos os restaurantes ofereceram refeições excelentes, especialmente o restaurante mexicano, onde tivemos uma experiência muito especial. Como pontos de melhoria, tivemos algumas situações pontuais no início da estadia. Chegamos no dia 24/12 e não havia mais disponibilidade para reservas de jantar no mesmo dia. O restaurante sem necessidade de reserva estava com filas muito grandes, o que acabou nos deixando sem jantar na noite do check-in. Acreditamos que seria interessante reservar algumas vagas para hóspedes que chegam no próprio dia. Além disso, na primeira noite ficamos em um quarto próximo à piscina e ao snack bar 24h, o que gerou bastante barulho durante a madrugada, inclusive por parte da equipe do hotel. Após relatar o ocorrido na recepção, fomos prontamente atendidos e realocados no dia seguinte para um quarto silencioso. A partir daí, a estadia foi extremamente tranquila. No geral, o hotel oferece uma ótima experiência, com excelente atendimento, gastronomia de qualidade e um clima perfeito para relaxar. Com pequenos ajustes, a experiência pode ser ainda melhor.
