It's a small and quiet hotel. Our room was on the smaller side but it worked. The rooftop bar was never open while we were there. Parking was expensive and they could have better options there. Overall, we would stay again.

The place is really nice. Only reason for knocking a star off of condition is one of their elevators isn’t able to go up at the moment. I’m sure they’ll fix it soon. I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Joinery Hotel in Pittsburgh and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The air conditioning in our room was POOR — it barely worked and left the room feeling stuffy and musty the entire time. The location also wasn’t quite as “downtown” as we expected; it was a bit farther from the main attractions than we expected, so expect to be walking or driving more. We were also really looking forward to the rooftop terrace, but it was closed during our stay with no notice, which was disappointing. Overall, the hotel just didn’t meet the standard I usually associate with Hilton properties. For the price and brand name, I expected a more comfortable and polished experience. On the pulse side we did have really great bartenders and drinks at Millhouse

Generally enjoyed The Joinery, tho there were def. some shortcomings. REALLY LOUD traffic noises (three freeway entrances right nearby, plus a train track) at night; one elevator continually malfunctioned, which was kind of weird. The breakfast buffet (only choice on Saturday) was pretty ghastly (no cereal? huh?) and of course felt overpriced. Staff decent, to be fair, and -- noise apart -- downtown Pittsburgh is an OK place to be, for tourists.

We stayed at this property a year ago and it has changed completely in 1 year. Last year, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. This year, the staff was unfriendly from the front desk to the valets to the floor maid. The elevators are slow and one is broken down most of the time. Rooms are small and the air conditioning is inadequate. Parking expense is ridiculous. I do not recommend this hotel.

Pink mold in the shower. The bottom bed sheet was too small for the bed so it kept coming off. The bedding all seemed really cheap, and there was no duvet - only weirdly two top sheets, one below the blanket and one on top. The bed was way too soft for anyone. The room was tiny - could barely walk around the bed, let alone set up the suitcase stand. My window looked into a building that was so close very little light got into the room. The only drink I ordered at the bar was terrible. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Good location, reasonable rates Cons: Shower had mold in it, and towels weren't clean. A/C was not blowing cold air, technician was sent and replaced the filter, did some fake work to make it seem like he was trying to fix it, and it did absolutely nothing. Rooftop bar had some weird private party and they tried to charge us to enter it. Looked nothing like the photos. I left my keys in the room and the manager refused to charge my card and send it back themselves, like every other hotel does. He insisted I create my own shipping label and email it to the hotel. After the previous three incidents, I did not trust the hotel to send the keys back in any decent amount of time, and drove back three hours from Buffalo to get them. I would not stay here again.

Stayed three nights, and got bug bites during the nights. Didn’t realize it was bed bug until the early morning before I checked out, I saw a bed bug on the white bed sheet and I squeezed it and it became red and black on the white bed sheet. Now I am worried I brought bed bugs home :(

Hotel was very nice upon entering. They had a coffee shop, a bar on the first floor, a bar on the roof top that wasn’t open, and a restaurant. It appeared very clean on our arrival. We looked through the bed and found not 1 but 2 bedbugs! We called down and to the front desk and was moved rooms. Our second room appeared to be fine and had no bites in the morning.

We have stayed at The Joinery many times. All of the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The hotel is so clean as well as all of the rooms. The hotel is centrally located and in walking distance of many places downtown and the valet service is great.

Three reasons I'm not giving this hotel an Excellent, 5-star review. 1. The room is on the small side. 2. The bed is on the small side length-wise. I'm 6ft tall, so if you are taller than that, maybe think twice. 3. The bed is positioned right in front of the a/c vent in the wall, so it blows right on you. Some may like that, I didn't. Other than that, it was a nice hotel. Staff was friendly. There are 2 parking garages right next door. It's a 15 minute walk to PNC Park, which is why we were in town. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

The room was very small for two people with luggage but it’s a cute vintage style hotel, well located, in a quiet area. Valet Parking was super expensive so we used Spot Hero and parked on the parking structure across the street for half the price (no in & out privileges) and we walked every, used a Lyft a couple times

Room was tiny and was looking straight at the high rise across the street. It was clean and I'm good condition though. Bed was decent, shower was nice. I was disappointed there was no microwave and the fridge was so small my take out boxes wouldn't fit. For the price it should've been better imo. The restaurant food was good but service was terrible. The roof top was pretty. Easy walk /uber to PPG Paints arena.

The lobby was very nice and the front desk staff were courteous. Our room was on the small side but for 1 night it was fine, very clean and modern. The only thing was that our windows faced other windows so there was no view.

Lobby had a hipster vibe that I liked. Didn't really translate to the rooms. They were more like dorm rooms. No closet just a rickety rack of sorts. Lights weren't synched to switch- you had to fumble around to the torch light with its cord snaking across the floor, etc.

The room was very comfortable, but a little small. It also only had plugs on one side of the bed so it was a little tricky for charging our devices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the location was very convenient, super close to the hockey arena

The location is fine. It's not the most convenient but it's not the worst. The staff and service is pretty bad though, especially considering it's tied to the Hilton name. They argued with my father over water bottles. At one point the elevator broke and we couldn't get to the gym. They also missed cleaning the room several times

Plus side:The aesthetic of the hotel was lovely and its centrally located near the downtown area.and the university im studying at. Down side: The fronr desk staff arent poised to offer quality customer service and are short staffed. As a result despite repeated asks for extra towels and pillows my requests went unanswered. I was told they onky had 1 person working ang the next shift would help. When i told the daytime feont desk staff about a broken soap dispenser (be forwarned there is no nar soap to be had here) they wrote it down saod someone would come right away and no one ever came. The restaurant was non functional. They all seem to be pleasant but apathetic. Bonus points: They have a lovely rooftop deck with Amazing views.

This hotel was so understaffed that it took over an hour - at 4:30pm - to get into our rooms because they weren’t cleaned yet. Our rooms were not cleaned or restocked once in a 4-night stay. Our accessible room’s roll-in shower was clogged causing the entire bathroom to flood, and also had empty shampoo and body wash containers. The staff were pleasant and the valets were good, but this was far too expensive for this experience - I will not ever pay in advance again.

When I first arrived, no valet, no parking. I asked the front desk to contact for the Valet guy, they said id have to wait and they cant contact them. After finally getting my car taken care of and finally ready to settle into my room, the room smelled like it was hot boxed with Marijuana smell all over. I had to go back down to get a new room while the elevators took forever. Just was not the experience I expected

Well check-in was at 4pm. Our room wasn’t ready until 7pm and the room which I upgraded to a suite was facing a brick wall with no view. There was a dirty sock under the bed. The room phone did not work and the manager never contacted me on my request she gave me a couple Hilton honors points as if that was accommodating. Very disappointed!

Great value in the downtown Pgh area! Super comfortable bed, no street noise on 6th floor. Walking distance to numerous bars and restaurants, PPG Paints Arena. Multiple self parking options nearby. Did not try the restaurant so no comment there.

Pros: Amazing new hotel with a funky look. Room was small with a comfy bed. Very clean and the shower was big. Front desk staff were very nice and check in was a breeze. Easy walking distance to downtown with lots of great restaurants and attractions. Rooftop terrace is a great place to relax in the evenings Cons: Our room faced an inner courtyard with no view. I didn’t know these rooms existed. It was fine as we were rarely in the room. The free drink token given at checkin is a joke. No choice of drink. You basically get kool aid with some alcohol - very gross. If the hotel is going to give a free thank you drink allow us to choose because otherwise it’s a non-gift. The area around the hotel is a bit sketchy with a few people doing drugs and begging. I was with my partner and was not bothered. I’m not sure I would feel comfortable walking back from the theatre as a single woman alone.

The restaurant was a bit snobbish in the evening, they would prefer you spend more, but I don't drink alcohol and can't eat that much. Morning server was an awesome guy, who treats everyone well. Quiet and clean the room was a perfect size for a single person, great staff and treat you well overall, a great time there. Some of the toiletries had trouble pumping and shower floor a bit slippery, but I didn't make waves. Will recommend to all.

We checked in Friday and got to our room and found out it was compact room. Which means it was a very small room with minimal walking room. It was nice, however, for the price we paid per night I would have booked somewhere else and had actual space to open our suitcase somewhere other than on the bed. The pictures on both Expedia and the Joinery website were deceiving. We also went for supper in the restaurant Friday night which only had a bar tender and two cooks working. The bar tender was over run and because of that, the service was less than satisfactory. Our meals came out fairly quickly but the two steaks were cold and options of sides were not given. For a Friday evening they should have adaquate staff to run smoothly.

Stay here every year for the parade. Parking is outrageous for a weekend and my friend paid twice as much thru Hilton a year in advance and they wouldn’t adjust the room. Restraunt is not good

This property is a Curio by Hilton. Doesn’t seem to be quite up to Hilton standards. Advertised coffee and pastries in the mornings. My surprise when they told me they don’t do that anymore even though it’s advertised on the website. Coffee was $8 for two. The compact king room is definitely compact. I will choose at least 200 square feet from now on. Worked for overnight.

Weekend getaway for a Pirates game. Excellent location - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. If you can’t choose from the many dining options I’d definitely recommend the Christian James restaurant at the hotel. Absolutely amazing dinner & the owner was so kind.
