The Lexen was a nice, clean basic hotel close to Universal Studios. The staff was very helpful and welcoming from the front desk people to the cleaning crew. The gym was nice and there was juice and a cappuccino machine in the dining area. Parking was limited but we had no problem finding a space the first night and parking right next to the hotel the second night. The street parking is metered beginning at 8am, so overnight was no issue.

Parking in the hotel lot could be difficult and weird that you can’t go through the front door on Tajunga Avenue — but I love the rooms and staff was lovely. I would live at Lexen on a short-term basis.

Nice hotel. Has some construction out in the parking lot so limited parking. They were nice enough to take the key and let us block cars. The heat wave was intense so anywhere in the hotel except your Pom felt like an oven. Wish the bar wouldn’t been open.

very clean and modern room. kind staff and smooth check-in/out. parking situation could be better since there’s limited spots and it’s first come first serve or else it’s street parking. luckily, i got a spot for whole trip each night. shower head could be stronger, it’s very weak. easy to get to universal studios. would stay again next time!

Perfect place to stay when going to Universal Studios. Super cute hotel. Private parking garage (small), clean room and AC worked great. Dorm size fridge. No freezer, pool, jacuzzi, or complementary breakfast, in case that’s what you’re looking for. Would definitely stay here again! Loved it!

The staff was amazing and the overall experience was good. However, I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room floor. I purposely stay places without carpet for they usually are cleaner. My daughter was walking around barefoot and when she sat down, I saw the bottom of her feet and they were filthy!! Definitely grossed me out and we then made sure we had socks on from there in out!

The staff was kind, attentive, friendly, and very helpful. The room was absolutely pristine. It was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. It was a short stay but every aspect of it was comfortable and seamless. The location was convenient for us and the price was very reasonable. We arrived back to the room really late and the parking structure was full. The night clerk went out of his way to help me out by offering to let me park in the spot normally reserved for the security vehicle so that I wouldn't have to come back down a few hours later to feed the parking meter. It was a blessing for which I was very grateful. I can't recommend this place enough. We will stay at Hotel Lexen again. 😀

It was terrible. Not family friendly. Had my 6 year old with me and the area itself is pretty ghetto. Then we were woken up at 1:30am by a prostitute or hooker walking back and forth in heels for like an hour in the room above us. There was also hair in the shower,, the nasty kind... We planned on 3 nights there and only stayed one. DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE

Our room was perfect, large area, comfortable & clean, decor was hipster style really nice. Plenty of towels, shower was great. Had plenty of windows to see out top floor. Patio area was very nice. Lobby was clean, holiday ready and some of the staff in the spirit as well.. garage murals were awesome! Staff were very kind and efficient housekeeping staff were very hospitable and acknowledged us.

Everything was great. Friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable. The one complaint which really isn’t a complaint because I’ve dealt with far worse was the showers water pressure and max temperature was too low. It was still warm and enough pressure but I would have just liked it a bit hotter and stronger.

Don’t be fooled by the other reviews. This is not a very nice place. I was on a boys trip with my son so we did not make a big deal about things. Had I been with my girlfriend we would have probably had to switch rooms or find another place to stay. Lots of hair everywhere, very loud construction across the street, strong chemical smells….not a nice place.

Everything was good and clean, comfortable bed, but there were a lot of strong scents being used in the elevator and the rooms which caused my husband and I to have trouble breathing.

The place was a good location for where we needed to go, but the beds were very uncomfortable. The floors were sticky, even though they have a really small front desk. Every single one at the front desk was very nice and very helpful. always I do think the rooms need to have a little bit more comfort feeling this one did not

Excellent small hotel with super comfortable bed, spacious room and pretty public areas. Parking was super convenient and felt secure. Very convenient location with great access to Burbank (BUR). Only beef: incredibly low water pressure in the shower.

Loved the room, it had clearly been renovated recently and was very comfortable. The full-sized toiletries in the bathroom/shower were a welcome addition. Just wish the room had blackout curtains — the plantation shutters weren’t quite effective enough. And I wish there was a self-checkout option for the shop downstairs, to reduce the amount of time spent waiting to purchase snacks or other items.

I booked a room with 2 queen beds and the beds were not queen beds, they have to have been for sure a full size bed. So not sure why it says queen when that bed is not a queen size. I have queen beds at home so i know what size they are.

The room was very clean but dimly lit (no ceiling lights in the main room). The balcony area was nice. Our stay was average and below value for the price. The shower had almost no water pressure. The neighborhood was fine but kinda noisy.

Unusual hotel property - Pros: room size, location, covered parking. Cons: room was dark (no overhead lighting) - room had what I hope was a one-way screen, but no room darkening window covering, slow elevator. Not sure I'd stay there again.

Stay was pretty good, honestly a lot better than I expected. We stayed in the king deluxe so we had a nice big bed, smart mini fridge a decent size couch, view was of an alleyway but you can’t control that. Only complaint would be the water pressure of the shower was very hit or miss sometimes it would be decent and sometimes the water would be struggling to come out. Another issue would be the parking garage, it’s a very small garage and they park cars on top of each other so you have to wait for a worker to move the car for you. Didn’t know there was a gym or what level the ice machine was on, that would’ve been nice to know and been helpful info in the beginning. Besides this I’m very surprised with how I enjoyed the are. The outside is very sketch but inside is a whole different story. Wouldn’t mind staying her again next year for our annual universal horror nights trip.

The staff here is absolutely amazing. They went way above and beyond in assisting us when we needed to evacuate. It’s now our local hotel of choice for family and friends from out town or any other time we need a local hotel. A huge thank you to Isaac and the whole staff🙏

The room was good in general and it was a plus having covered parking. However, the staff was not friendly, and there was a complete lack of interest in providing good customer service. Additionally, when we requested an extra bed sheet, we were told it wasn’t possible to have it brought to our room. We had to go downstairs to the front desk, where it still wasn’t ready. We were asked to return 30 minutes later to pick it up.

The hotel itself is great. When we first walked in, it took the gentleman a little longer than felt comfortable to acknowledge that we were there, he was in the sitting area eating and didn’t say anything for a few minutes, so I wasn’t even sure if he was an employee or guest. But aside from that, he was really nice, those first few minutes were just kind of awkward to be just standing there. And the area feels pretty sketchy, I didn’t love walking around there at night. I totally recommend renting a car, the subway and bus is close, but doesn’t really feel safe, like at all.

This place is a hidden gem! Second time staying here, We got in a bit early and hoped to get an early check in to rest before our event - the gentleman at the desk was so nice he said no problem, they had the availability to do so ! This establishment is always so clean , comfortable beds and quality bedding. We got in late and there was security to ensure we got in building safely. Highly recommend this property. Great staff , clean rooms and secure, will definitely be going back

Check in was horrible. I arrived at 2am and no one was available for check in. I called the front desk phone number to see if someone would come out but no one answered and no one came out. I waited for 15 minutes before someone came out from a back room with a travel pillow around his neck to check me in.

This is my second time staying at the Lexen, and unfortunately, there were two things that made this day, either less enjoyable or more concerning than the last. The first is that the key card to our room was disabled every night. The front desk insisted it was my cell phone or a debit card that was somehow demagnetizing the key card, despite the fact that I was carrying the card completely separate from either of those I ended up having to go to the desk, two separate times to ask for my keys to be reactivated or new keys to be issued. The second thing is more of a safety concern. I came down at 6 AM on Sunday morning and found that the automatic sliding doors to the parking area were not only disabled, but physically locked. I knocked on the doors and saw him come out of the same area he had been sleeping in before. I confronted him about this and he stated he just doesn’t like leaving those unlocked. The entrance states it is to remain unlocked and violation is against fire code.

Dining area closed except for a coffee/hot chocolate machine. First day, no coffee. 2nd day, ran out of hot chocolate and front desk employee never got off the couch to look for more. Got an email that parking is limited and breakfast area closed only after I fully booked it. Should have been noted before submitting the payment. Hotel is adjacent to a busy fire station so very noisy with sirens the first night. Not much sleep. But on the bright side, it was a very clean hotel and close to Universal.

The hotel was amazing loved everything about it. There was 1 negative experience. At night the area around the hotel was very noisy. Loud music people screaming and yelling outside. Lots of homeless people camping in their tents outside. We weren’t sure if we should stop or keep going into the parking garage. My husband and I questioned if we should walk to the hotel with our 4 month old baby from the garage. Other than that the hotel was great and so were the staff members!

The hotel itself was great! Property was nice, rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent! Area around the hotel was meh. There is a new building being built right next door so construction sounds early was a tad annoying…but..not the hotel’s fault! Parking is limited, but we always ended up with a spot. Overall, very nice stay!

Friendly staff large spacious room and bathroom. The immediate area is somewhat questionable, not sure I’d take a stroll at night. ( see google maps). Unfortunately during our stay a building was being demolished at 7am…of course no fault of the hotel. But still an unpleasant wake up call. Hotel with 10 mins of universal studios and Warner bros…Uber/lyft is cheaper than parking at those attractions.

This was clearly a casualty of COVID. New property, rooms fairly clean (stayed there twice, once in Spring 2024, again in Spring 2025). However, the entire outdoor entertainment area is shuttered. Close to everything, but nothing other than a room.

The hotel is clean, well appointed and the beds are super comfy. The location is convenient to get to attractions around the LA area and close to the Burbank Airport. Small thing but the grab and go breakfast was not available but it was okay as we were still able to get free coffee and juice throughout the day. We would come again!
