Ocean el Faro Resort - All Inclusive

Ocean El Faro is a well kept and maintained resort staffed by a large number of friendly, bilingual and exceptionally courteous staff. Over the course of our two week stay the high quality of service never wavered. Our concierge, Jose was the absolute best! He made all aspects of our stay comfortable and convenient and even chatted with us around the resort during the course of the day. An outstanding representative of Ocean El Faro! As this was our second stay at Ocean El Faro, several of the staff remembered us and went out of their way to welcome us back. We took a snorkeling trip using the resorts service. It was very affordable and included incredible door to door service. Carlos explained the variety of tours available and recommended the perfect one for us. Lunch at sea was included which turned out to be surf n turf, ceviche and several other delicious options. Alejandro, master bartender and his waitresses, Erika and Anna hosted us in the wonderful lobby and did a wonderful job with their customers. Ocean El Faro’s several themed restaurants served VERY good food and there was always a place to eat. The poolside waitresses were constantly on the move delivering drinks. The Fitness Center included new, modern exercise equipment and several cardio machines and there was almost always room to swim 100 meter laps in the pool. The buildings and landscape were well maintained with a breezy coconut plantation feel that only added to the relaxing atmosphere.

Pros: The staff is very kind and helpful. Service is great. Susana from Jellyhouse was amazing! Pool was clean. The food was decent. Magic show, variety show and beach party was fun Cons: The resort is big so the amenities were far and slightly challenging to walk. The kids waterpark was closed for maintenance during our 8 days stay. We had particularly booked because of waterpark for our 4 year old. The sales team can be a little aggressive.

Kevin our butler was amazing! He booked us dinner reservations every night for our group of 8 and helped with other things we needed throughout the trip (more water to the room, staff to come as we forgot our safe code, etc). The resort was overall great for our family, we spent most of our time at the waterpark as our kids are 5 and 4. The lazy river was awesome, a lot of water features and the other pools also were great. The beach had nice sand but unfortunately we came shortly after a large hurricane in the Caribbean so there was a lot of seaweed at the time but the staff was working hard to get rid of it. The restaurants were all good and the buffet also always had decent options. Mikes coffee was awesome but always had a HUGE line (30 min wait sometimes). They need more baristas to help this. If you just want an espresso, latte or americano you can go to the front lobby bar and they will make it there for you. We ended up doing this most mornings so it was much quicker. Our kids went to the kids club once and enjoyed it. The ladies working there were lovely and whatsapp-ed up as soon as our kids asked to leave. They did a treasure hunt, painting and foam party! Overall we were pleasantly surprised with this resort!

All pools around the property we're excellent, the blue team does a decent job with entertainment. Room service was terrible, literally hours to get a bucket of ice most days and ocean eats would often deliver unedible burgers. Guest experience representative never answered any Whatsapp messages. El Beso by night (beach bar)was open 1x in 10 days leaving nothing on el beso open after 6pm which is ridiculous. Hot tub took nearly 4hrs to fill, which is completely unacceptable. Honestly if it wasnt for the Blue Team and the other patrons i would give the resort 1 star.

Positives: -Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. -Pools and common areas were all very clean. -Most of the food was very good which is a great complement as Im picky with food coming from New York City area. -Atmosphere is very upscale -A lot of choices for things to do and restaurants to go too. Negatives that I personally found: -My main negative is how many people tried to sell us stuff!! Every day multiple times a day I had people asking if I want to do paid activities, paying for photos taken of us, people on the beach selling stuff, tables set up in the lobby area to buy stuff, and even wanting us to go to listen to a presentation for a free massage. This lowered my experience here a little bit. -Need more towels in pool areas. Found myself hunting down towels a lot -my room had 3 lights out in the room Overall I would recommend coming here as I went to the Hard Rock in Punta Cana which was more expensive and had just as great of an experience as there especially for a couple or an adult. The separate El Beso areas were great!

This resort was phenomenal. Having the adults only part of the resort and peaceful. The service was great, the food was great. Definitely get a massage and the body scrub at their spa. We cannot wait to visit again. The house keepers were attentive. The swim bar was excellent make sure you see Francis.

It was a great experience at the Ocean El faro. The atmosphere was beautiful and the architecture amazing too. A lot of entertainment day and night for kids and adults, the pools were amazing I really enjoyed the lazy river, it was my favorite.The hotel is huge so expect a lot of walking even though they have these little golf cars that drive you around but they don’t pass by so often. The food was also good and a lot of variety but to book in the speciality restaurants at night was impossible. Good thing Expedia assigned me a butler who I had no idea it was included in my booking but I m glad they did it. I was the only way to get in those kind of restaurants without hustle. Thank you Expedia! And many thanks to Jose who was great and kind all the time. The ladies at the bakery were great too the coffee was delicious. Overall a great experience I do recommend this resort and I would gladly come back as well.

The room we got was very nice, spacious comfortable but it had a humidity smell, even though they provided a dehumidifier it persisted, the mini fridge wasn't working properly but they exchanged it promptly (extra points for that). Common areas are super nice, pools are lovely but there are a couple of tiles missing which can cut you (I was lucky enough that it didn't cut me deep,but we saw a young man with a profound cut bleeding), the beach is nice and clean lobby is stunning. The staff is super friendly and helpful, 99% of the interactions with them always left us smiling. We have to shout-out Reinaldo Sánchez (guest experience specialist) who took care of our restaurant reservations, made sure we always had the daily schedule of activities and resolved every request and issue super fast and always with a smile.

We traveled with two 4 year olds and specifically booked this hotel for the kids pool with all the slides and activities. Unfortunately, this was closed for renovation. While I understand it's necessary, it would have been nice to get the information beforehand. We wasted an hour for the "presentation" after which we were promised our welcome gift. Didn't get the gift and lost 1 hour of our lives for this. It felt forced, and very aggressive, we talked to 3 different sales reps, filled out forms and were shown other nicer rooms. it's was 1h in (with 2 kids that were eager to go to the pool) and still waiting for the "presentation" before we opted out. And I'm more mad at myself for not declining this right away. Getting a heads-up that this is a lengthy SALES presentation would have been nice. Overall, we did have a great time. Loved the lazy river. The virtual concierge Carlos was great, made sure we had everything we needed and made restaurant reservations for us. I would recommend the hotel in general, but would decline the sales pitch right away.

Great place to stay, the food in all the restaurants are amazing, the Pools are fantastic specially the Lazy River for children and adults with the pool bars services. The rooms are clean with excellent rooms service. In the night they offer good entertainments. Thanks to Carlos Enrique and all the hotel staff, we felt welcome during our stay in the hotel.

We really enjoyed the lazy river! What a beautiful feature! Our room was very very musty and damp (the floors stayed perpetually wet the whole stay). I don’t think the air conditioner was working. We asked twice for a dehumidifier but it was never delivered. Other than our room, we had a nice stay and would return!

The weather was great during our stay, but the hotel itself was disappointing. The food was awful, and although they gave us “ocean bucks,” we couldn’t use them anywhere, which made them pointless. There were no convenient snack options, which was frustrating. The hotel room was okay, but it definitely could have been cleaner. Overall, not the best experience.

We saw a mouse during our first meal in the main buffet. It kind of ruined the whole vacation for us because we knew their hygiene standards are not great. It rained (not a lot) and there was water dripping into our room, in the spa, in the lobby and in the restaurants. Our toilet didn’t flush and they only sent someone to fix it three hours later after three phone calls. I would not recommend this hotel, better to pay a bit more and have peace of mind. It’s not five star by any means.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The service and location were great, but there was a musty odor in the room that was also noticeable on the bed linens. I hope this issue can be resolved for future guests.

Soy de las personas que nunca dejo reseñas pero la realidad es que en este hotel perdimos nuestro dinero. Las habitaciones están llenas de humedad y cucarachas, no importa a cual habitación te cambien en todas pasa lo mismo. Las opciones de la comida son sumamente limitadas y hubo una noche que hicieron un buffet diferente que en realidad solo tenía 4 o 5 opciones. Por favor no vayan créanme que van a perder su dinero y van a pasar unas horribles vacaciones.

The hotel is kept well, the rooms are not cleaned properly. We had a dirty sheets. The mini bar was not replenished daily we had to keep reminding them. The service at the buffet both daytime and evening were horrible. On one occasion we just got up and left because no one was coming to our table with water and eating utensils. I’m never going back to this resort. Staff is extremely rude. This is my 6 time in DR and it has been the worst. The food was also mediocre.

All of the staff were courteous and friendly. They all seemed to thoroughly love tgeir jobs and the patrons. Rooms were spacious and clean, lazy river was lovely. A highlight for us was the beach - we love waves! Only complaint is that we did not book longer!

I really enjoyed my swim up junior suite & the bartender lady that always made sure our cups were full! But we've had people just walk into our room without even knocking sometimes. Throughout our 6 day stay, it happened about 4 or 5 times. They would either knock once & walk in or not knock at all.. but just invite themselves in. I couldn't even find a "do not disturb" sign anywhere in the room to put on the door. The dining options were okay! The "you have to reserve early in the morning" just to have a good time for dinner were crazy. The Italian spot didn't have lasagna when I ordered and also gave us tiny portions. Hibachi was great but having so many people at one table leaves you with little portions of food. Margarita was great but service was slow & we had our room number down but everyone else was being seated before us, even though we were there before them! Route 66 was okay food, I felt like the hostess catered only to people that looked like her or talked like her.. but our waitress was fantastic! Our room was always clean and we always had towels! They cleaned the pools regularly which was also great! The alcohol was limited if you're not privileged.. as an "all inclusive" that was bogus. We could only have certain alcohol brands since we had "silver" bracelets. Our "ride" never picked us up at the desired time for our luggage's to be brought to the front for us to check out, so we walked. But overall, I had a great time. I would say 3.5/5 stars!

I loved this resort so much! There's so much to do and it's so huge you need a golf cart to travel from the other end to another. Definitely will come back in the future! The only downside was the AC wasn't working properly in our room especially how hot it is outside! But overall i loved it here so much! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary & I loved how they even decorated our room and gave us wine! Our room had a jacuzzi and even provided flowers & rose petals on it lol! We also celebrated our friend's bachelor & bachelorette! And Kevin Paulino, our butler was so helpful with everything from restaurant reservations, room service and all questions u needed to ask he provides a day to day activities & what u can do! And also hands down to OMAR the best bartender by the lazy river! We're a group of 9 people and he served us with the best drinks even with how busy it gets! If i could give this resort 11/10 I would! Definitely recommend!

Desde que llegamos fue un problema, habiamos reservado dos habitaciones con dos camas cada una y cuando llegamos NO habia disponibilidad, No hay personal suficiente, los restaurantes en su mayoria cerrados y habia que hacer la reservacion el mismo dia y ya a las 8:00 am no habia chance, el water park para los ninos cerrado, el jueves llovio muchisimo y en la habitacion de mis suegros caia mas agua adentro que afuera y lo unico que nos dieron para solventar fueron toallas, fue una experiencia malisima habernos quedado en ese hotel, Yo fui a celebrar mi cumpleanos con mi familia y no nos quedo ganas de volver ni regalado. Muy mala la experiencia en ese hotel.

The loft room and rooftop was very nice! Carlos.B- our online concierge was very nice, quick with replies and very knowledgeable! He made the experience seamless! The beach was beautiful and the water was so clean! Overall, great time at ocean el faro!

Our 1 st room was terrible. Mold , tv not working, no hot water, phone not working, and a leak in the ceiling. The 3 rd day they changed our room by our request not from the resort Activity and service was awesome but the food was not great

Our stay at Ocean El Faro was amazing. Resort is one of the nicest resorts we’ve been to. Marine vibe of the resort is one of a kind and view from the top of the lighthouse is breathtaking. Rooms are very nice and clean. Big shout out to our butler Jose who made our stay at the resort way easier and help us with every request that we had ( not that we had a lot of them, lol) Definitely will be coming back to Ocean El Faro in the future

I spent my birthday celebration at Ocean El Faro and it was a beautiful experience overall. The property is beautiful. It's not too big and not too small. The size is perfect as it walkable, which allots for easy access to all activities. The restaurants and bars were really good. However, trying to get serviced at the lobby bar at night was mostly a challenge. The women servers weren't welcoming at all. They'd pass by multiple times without acknowledging some of is patrons. The male bartenders were awesome though. Other than that I'd give the resort a 9/10. I would definitely book again.

The resort its self was absolutely beautiful. Staff were all very kind and helpful. The butler service helping us with reservations for dinner and taxis service was fantastic. The food and beverage staff including chamber maids also very delightful. Down side of this establishment was as soon as we checked in, we were mislead into what we thought was a guided tour of the property. Which in fact ended up being an attempt to pressure us into purchasing a membership to H10 resorts. This process took up 2.5 hrs of our first morning at the Ocean El Faro establishment. Also the constant harassment to purchase over priced tours. This got so bad that we would take back ways around the resort to avoid the daily these encounters.

I want to say our tour person Reinaldo was AMAZING for all he was able to do he did for us and I can’t thank him enough, however you get what u pay for.. if you book through Expedia be expected to be told to upgrade for better.. they kinda treat u a certain way with the wrist band they give you. Numerous times I have had to call to beg for someone to bring us drinks or water or coffee to the room… and it’s not like u can just go ahead and grab them yourself . They HAVE to bring it to you . There were days I waited 4 hours for drinks . Room service sucks. Menu is sub par and they charge for breakfast room service . I appreciated the suite i appreciated the quietness but the first time I booked a resort through Expedia and was treated subpar because I did not get it through them themselves . Also BE PREPARED that when u book through Expedia the hotel will try to force u in a time share sell because u solely booked through Expedia

Just returned from 8 days at Ocean El Faro and we loved it. Two adults and 6 year old daughter booked Privelege and we all had a great time. The resort is clean and well maintained. The food at the buffett was always tasty with some different options every day. We ate à la carte at Sakura and Steakhouse and both were delicious. Maragarita restaurant was also great. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Our butler Jose was wonderful. The pool we went to (closer to the beach) was always pretty quiet and never busy. There were always lots of pool chairs available even later in the day. I do think Privelege is worth it for the extras you get. We are already planning out next trip!

I had an incredible experience at Ocean El Faro in Punta Cana. The property is spotless, beautifully maintained, and genuinely feels like a luxury getaway. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier resort. Every corner of the place was clean, and the atmosphere was relaxing from start to finish. The staff were consistently welcoming and helpful, but Reinaldo Sanchez deserves a special shoutout. He made the entire trip smoother by helping us with our bookings and keeping us updated on all the events happening around the resort. His professionalism and attention to detail really elevated our stay. Overall, a perfect vacation. Highly recommend Ocean El Faro and big thanks to Reinaldo for the exceptional service!

An Exceptional Experience Thanks to Consierge Kevin Paulino! We recently completed a wonderful stay at Ocean El Faro, and we can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived until we departed, the customer service was outstanding—everyone we encountered was genuinely nice and courteous. The true highlight of our trip, however, was the unparalleled service provided by our Consierge, Kevin Paulino. Kevin truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was flawless. He took the initiative to handle all of our a la carte restaurant reservations, making dinner planning completely stress-free. More impressively, he checked on us daily, both in person and via text message, demonstrating a commitment to personalized service we rarely see. When we notified him that the steamer in our room wasn't working, he had it replaced quickly and efficiently. His attentiveness elevated our entire vacation. Beyond the incredible service, the hotel's amenities and food were excellent. The buffet restaurant offered a great variety of choices, and the food was consistently fresh and delicious. Furthermore, the property itself is beautifully maintained; the pools and gardens were immaculate and provided a relaxing atmosphere all week long. If you are planning a trip to Ocean El Faro, know you are in good hands, especially if you have the pleasure of being assisted by Kevin Paulino. Five stars!

This place is a joke with no Customer Service whatsoever. I arrived early and added my girlfriend to the reservation. I told them to call the guard gate to make sure she can get in. They would not let her in the guard gate in over 20 minutes. I tried to talk to the front counter and asked to see a manager. I couldn’t even get a manager to come out. I got the runaround I had to go to Customer Service as for a manager still couldn’t get a manager Back to the front counter. I ended up getting a refund for my entire visit and went to Majestic Colonial and had no problem whatsoever. I’ve been there many times it’s a better resort with no problems and great guest service. I still not got a refund yet and Expedia just said I had to deal with The hotel. I’ve booked hundreds and hundreds of trips with Expedia. This is the worst problem I’ve ever had and getting my money back. It’s still not resolved.

The check-in process was extremely slow and drawn out. Although multiple representatives were available at the time, there was very little urgency in getting guests checked in and on their way. Room service was also disappointing. it often took up to two hours for orders to arrive, and I noticed on several occasions that items were marked as “delivered” nearly an hour before actually being received. The food quality overall was decent but not great. I had a bad experience at the Villa Marina restaurant. After eating there, I became sick later that night. However, the other restaurants offered decent food that I was able to enjoy without issue. The drinks and cocktails were okay, though it definitely took several to feel any effect. My room itself was comfortable, the bed was very nice, and the bathroom was average. However, the toilet seat was loose and not properly secured, and the floorboards along the bathroom walls looked dirty and were deteriorating. My room also did not have a microwave, which was inconvenient since I couldn’t warm up any food or leftovers. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They always had answers to my questions and were pleasant to interact with. One thing I did found frustrating was the number of people constantly trying to sell items such as jewelry and accessories right in the walkways and on the beach. They often stop guest as they pass by and try to make sales throughout the day, which became bothersome.

The resort was quiet and beautifully designed, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and a nicely sized suite that made our stay comfortable. The food and drinks were amazing, and overall I was genuinely impressed with the entire experience. Our stay was made truly unforgettable thanks to Jose Miguel Jimenez, the most amazing concierge/butler I have ever met in my life. His customer-first attitude is on another level. He was always available on WhatsApp — whether I needed help with reservations at restaurants, arranging a ride, answering questions about the resort. Overall - I highly highly recommended this resort to my fellow Canadians & US travellers.

The BEST FOOD IN THE DR.!!!! I'm coming back for that alone. Some areas of the beach are unsightly, guess they're working on something unknown to guests. My rooftop suite had everything I needed and more room than expected.

Our stay was wonderful for the most part aside from the fact that a few of us got Sick for a few days of the trip. The buffet was meh! Seemed the same everyday. Our favourite place was Blue Moon, food was fantastic but its adults only so not very convenient for ppl travelling with children. The service staff, bartenders, waitresses etc. were all extremely friendly and provided excellent service. Our concierge for the week was Kevin, he provided daily updates for the resort, handled booking our reservations and was excellent with any questions or Concerns we had. He was wonderful. All in all good vacation !

Had a great stay. It'd be nice if there were 1-2 more workers in the coffee shop as the line was long. The steakhouse was delicious. The italian one took forever for service. Juana at the lobby bar was amazing!

The food in the restaurants could be better. Sakura was great. Mexican was good. The others not so great.

The restaurants were all good and the buffet also always had decent options. Mikes coffee was awesome but always had a HUGE line (30 min wait sometimes). They need more baristas to help this. If you just want an espresso, latte or americano you can go to the front lobby bar and they will make it there for you. We ended up doing this most mornings so it was much quicker. Our kids went to the kids club once and enjoyed it. The ladies working there were lovely and whatsapp-ed up as soon as our kids asked to leave. They did a treasure hunt, painting and foam party! Overall we were pleasantly surprised with this resort!

Pool and pool bars were great, restaurants where fantastic but the hours were just ok, lots of them were closed most of the time. Buffet was fantastic. Staff was amazing but the upselling from the sales people outside the restaurant and lobby was a little bothersome at times. Resort was super clean, highly recommend and I will return!!

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this resort. Although the staff were generally friendly and helpful, the food situation was very concerning. There was raw fish left out in the open, which felt unsafe considering the weather. Only one buffet was open during lunchtime, even though the website gave us the impression that we would have multiple dining options available throughout the day, not just at dinner. On top of that, many of the dishes we tried were undercooked and felt unsafe to eat. Unfortunately, after the first dinner, we had gotten steak and that ended up resulting in a bacterial infection which led us to leave the resort and book a flight earlier out to get checked out by our local doctors. The food made us very sick. We were vomiting multiple times throughout the day and even developed an infection, which forced us to leave earlier than planned. For days, we couldn’t eat a proper meal since the first incident, and were left with the short selection of fries to eat for the next couple days, as it was the only item we felt was safe to eat. Overall, this experience ruined our trip and left us genuinely concerned for our health. We were extremely unhappy with our stay and hope that management takes these issues seriously.
