Tru By Hilton Wilmington Wrightsville Beach

I love Tru by Hilton hotels! They’re so cute and comfortable, and the staff is always amazing and friendly and helpful. It’s also a dog-friendly hotel and my dog is always so comfortable there too! Plus, they provide a list of things like close pet stores, nearby emergency vets, and pet-friendly restaurants when you check in. Super nice!

Hallway noise was loud and breakfast choices weren’t amazing. Room was nice though, very clean hotel, gift bag at check in was nice touch. No pool.

Booked because of the EV chargers. Chargers could be a bit faster and cheaper.

Overall a great hotel and comfortable bed. Clean and staff was fantastic. However, the room did not have a dresser and it made our having to just stack our clothing for our multiple days visit on the bench under the television. Little inconvienient but we made due. You could just pull from the suitcase instead each day. My advise is for those staying, plan accordingly concerning clothing as there is no dresser, at least in the room we stayed in. Felt safe in area and hotel, well lit parking lot, great hot breakfast buffet, the room air conditioning was top notch cold, room not musty smelling, no carpet in rooms is nice. EV Vehicles: There are electric car chargers on property. Three stalls total with a total of 5 plugs. 1 is dedicated to handicap parking only. These are Level 2 chargers with a "J" connector at rougly 15amps. Nice to have this available, however, it is a pay to charge...just to bear in mind for those curious. The good news is there are no idle fees once the vehicle is filled and the cost is less than at a Super Charger, especially if you plan to recharge overnight while you sleep. Cost: .20/kwh -- $6-9 to charge my vehicle up to 100% from 20%. I just wish that it was not a charge as a hotel guest is all. I have been to some hotels that include free EV charging without a cost is all... Not upset, but good info to know for those with an EV. If all else fails, there is a Super Charger location across the street form the hotel. Yes we would stay here again.

From ample free parking to solid WiFi, everything was as expected. The room was clean and air conditioning nice and cold. The room was not spacious but adequate. Buffet breakfast was good with hot and cold items. Staff was very friendly too!

It was a great experience, excellent service, breakfast. Room had a fridge but did not have a microwave inside the room. Traveling with kids is a plus to have a microwave inside the room. Close to restaurants and stores only 6 minutes away from the beach. The place was clean. We stayed for two nights, wished they had cleaned the room the next day or offered fresh towels.NO POOL to swim after a day at the beach. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Nick and Gracie were awesome. Breakfast was decent and they have a 24 hr market with coffee. Would like a microwave in the room, they only have 1 community microwave in their lobby.

Rooms clean

Really wanted to love this hotel and return for future visits to see our daughter while she attends UNCW but cleanliness is an issue that needs to be addressed. There was an issue with our first room which did actually seem clean and we were moved to a second room which had a filthy bathroom. The bathroom smelled like dirty drains or something, toilet wasn't clean, and there was gross stuff on the bathroom door. Overall disappointed, thankfully we were there only one night and I had Clorox wipes with me. The property itself is new and in a good location, they either need more cleaners or better attention to detail.

My husband and I stayed overnight because I had to present at a conference. Our stay was fantastic! The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good (especially the yogurt with granola), and the room was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever seen! You will not go wrong choosing this hotel!

Everything felt fresh, new and clean. Check in was easy and the gentleman at the desk was very pleasant. We only stayed one night during our road trip, but it was an excellent choice. The beds were extremely comfortable and blankets soft and felt like home. I would stay here anytime, especially if it was a business trip, because there was a nice lounge area to work in if needed.

The cleaning crew doesn’t focus on the floors. There was dog hair and dog food left on the floor. Also, reddish stains on the bathroom floor. When I mentioned it to staff they had someone clean them. The bathroom floor was better but the room still had dog hair afterward. They did offer a 50 percent off of one nights stay but due to me paying with Expedia they said they couldn’t do it and applied points to my Hilton Honors account. To sum it up, they did try to rectify the problem however, cleaning skills still lacked basic sweeping and mopping.

We didn't like the TV options and no microwaves in the room. At the least, have one on each floor by the icemaker

Stayed here one night with family including 2 kiddos under four years. Room was clean and comfortable. No tubs but the showers were clean and large enough to bathe children without getting completely sprayed with water. No microwave but did have a small fridge. Lots of space and places to hang items (we went to the beach). The breakfast was ok. I didn’t find too much I could eat. The pancake machine was pretty cool and entertaining for the kids. Nice game area and pool table. Quiet location and plenty of parking spots although all exterior doors were not re-entry points. Overall a nice stay and would certainly stay again.

It was so clean, quiet, the breakfast was excellent! Beds and pillows were very comfortable, slept so well! Shower was perfect!

Staff are super friendly and the lobby is well-appointed with coffee, tea, drinks, and snacks. Rooms are well laid out and nicely designed. The only drawback I encountered was noise level, I could hear guests in rooms on either side of me.

Cool, modern vibe in the lobby. Room was a little different, no dresser, very small desk, no rugs, no extra chair. No microwave! Our room had a weird smell and I asked Ellla at the front desk for a new pillow, it smelled awful. She was very pleasant. Staff were nice, breakfast was good..

Room was comfortable and clean. My only complaint is that I could hear every single movement the guest in the room above me made. At certain points, it sounded like they were moving the furniture.

The room was a little small and no real space for clothes.

James at the front desk was AMAZING!! He was super friendly and helpful! I think he worked the full day because we saw him in the morning and at night but he was still upbeat and friendly and he is appreciated!

Great location for our needs. Clean and quiet property. Friendly staff. However, we received the key to another guests room when we checked in. Everyone is human and it was an honest mistake by the front desk. Not sure that the guest in that room was too happy when we opened their door though. But otherwise we had a good stay.

Front desk staff was amazing. Helped us make the most of our time in Wilmington. Very personable and helpful. The overall experience makes us want to stay at TRU again.

We waited over 30 minutes to be checked in. During that time, the front desk employee Ella was texting back and forth with you (Caitlin) but rather than resolving the issue promptly, nothing improved. As a manager myself, I found it completely unacceptable that you did not call the front desk employee directly or step in personally to provide assistance. Texting in a situation where guests are left waiting for such an extended period is inadequate and unprofessional. Additionally, our personal information was left exposed on an incidental sheet at the front desk while the only employee on duty was occupied assisting us and another couple to their rooms. This not only caused further delays but also created a serious breach of privacy. The lack of proper managerial action left us with a very poor first impression. As a guest, I expect efficiency, professionalism, and security—none of which were delivered in this instance.

It was a short quick trip but very convenient to get to town and the beach.

The grits were cold Saturday and Sunday, Nov 16&17, 2024. Very clean, friendly, safe and convenient place to stay.

Breakfast is not kept stocked. Saturday breakfast ends at 10, at 9:30 there was essentially nothing left. It should be kept stocked to accommodate all guests during the hours available. The coffee was tinted water. Overall though the property is lovely, clean, and quiet.

The continental breakfast was horrible.

Check-in was easy and quick, room was clean and bright. Bed was so comfy and shower was amazing. Breakfast food was great, the serving space was cramped and the girl working/restocking was nice but very slow which caused many to have to stand around and wait or miss out. The front desk working (in the mornings) was very slow to refill the coffee; it seemed they both were new(er) and didnt have a good routine to keep stuff filled. It was a great stay.

Could not get the wifi to work without joining Hiltons ad stuff. Staff was ok, I do not recommend the breakfast as it was the cheapest stuff for a hotel I have ever had. I guess on weekdays they stop a 9 am but they started the shut down about 10 minutes early and some folks didn't get breakfast. The coffee was very weak and had grounds in it.

Our stay was very pleasant—the room was cozy and the beds were extremely comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. The only area that could use a little improvement is the breakfast. It was decent, but there wasn't much variety. With a few more options, it could really enhance the overall experience.

Food was the worst ever in a Hilton property Room floor had dog hair and just dirty overall. Dining was dirty lots of dirty table tops and this is at 8:15 on a Sunday morning, bagels were rock hard and looked old. Eggs were barely warm and the sausage was a light gray color, scary looking! The hotel soundproofing for a new hotel was just about non existent, we listened to guests in all the rooms around us. I could go on but why, we will never stay at a TRU by Hilton again!
