Just incredible staff! They went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. I couldn't thank them enough. The bar area is so fun and such a great energy. Amazing drinks. In terms of overall experience, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

I had a great time at the moxy. Staff was friendly, beautiful rooftop to watch the fireworks for 4th of July. And the hotel even threw a 4th of July party. The rooms are small, but not much time spent in them. Nice gym, no Barebells but plenty of dumbbell and pulley system. The hotel is about 20 min walk from king Street. My boyfriend and I mostly walked and felt safe and didn’t mind it. 10 min Uber to Shem creek and 20 min or less Uber to airport. I would stay there again

Overall for the price value it was a good stay. Comfortable bed, blackout shades, a really nice business center and fitness center. Everything is pretty brand new, and cleanliness was top notch. The staff were hospitable and friendly. The only notable, negative things were 1. the room (single) had no chair but did have a desk which doesn't make much sense. 2. the room had no hand soap. When asked the front desk they could not procure any from multiple floors. 3. Walls are thin. Can hear every door open/close in the hall and the end of hall lockers are noisy when the door opens. 4. Music in the business center during the day was too loud for people working/having meetings. 5. There was no server at the bar during the weekday for food.

Rooms are small but I expected this from the reviews. If you are here just to sleep and shower in your room it’s just fine. The lobby bar area is very cool. Staff super friendly. Valet parking which is a must given the area is terrible and not totally the valet guys fault. Scheduling one person on a holiday weekend is a recipe for disaster. Bringing us the wrong vehicle after waiting 30 minutes not great. Getting our car today to leave same issue.

There were so many cute things about this hotel, but cleanliness, comfort and service were not what we would have expected. We checked in and weren’t given any information about Wi-Fi, cost of parking, whether or not there was a pool, checkout time, or even told about the rooftop. The pillows were very flimsy and not at all comfortable so we didn’t sleep well. I realize that’s a bit subjective because someone else may have thought it was comfortable, but we had problems with finding human hairs, crumbs, and someone’s dried contact on the floor in our room. While we didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room because we were busy exploring it still would have been nice to have had a clean room. Especially after Covid I would expect for things be cleaner. Also, our room was very small and there wasn’t even a closet. We hung our things on hangers that were on the wall. This hotel was cute enough and in a good location that we will likely give it another chance, but next time I’ll bring my own pillow.

My room was covered with boogers dripping down the doors and walls. After the first day our room was supposed to be changed. However we were advised by the evening manager the room had been cleaned and we would be in the same room. The room still have bodily substances spread throughout. The next day we brought the boogers on the walls to the managers attention. Her response was simply “well what do you want?” What is wanted was a booger free room with no other bodily substances dripping down the wall. I took pictures to show her and she was not interested. Most of the staff in the hotel was excellent. The location was good and the amenities were good. However the room was gross.

The best part: Rooftop with lounge beds. Breeze was blowing and I took a nap. Overall clean and modern, nice shades with black out, but missing too many elements for me to go back. ***There in no closet - just hooks, only 3 hangers. Would be a nightmare for 2 people to try to hang their clothes on the hooks… there’s not even a luggage rack, so you have to put your suitcase on the floor like a college student. I felt like I was “roughing it”. AND: no coffee in the room!!! It’s the simply things that matter to me. It’s technically downtown but NOT easy walking - and definitely you are not walking home at night. Oh, one more thing - there’s no place to store luggage if your room isn’t ready… there are lockers but it’s a major hassle and very DIY - all the lockers were full when I arrived and staff put my bags behind the bar. I wasn’t crazy about that, but I had no choice. For the money I wouldn’t stay here again. ( I stayed over the weekend so my rate was over $400)

The decor is cool but the price is high for what you get in the room. Minimal furniture, do it yourself service for needing toiletries, towels, linens, etc., no daily maid service, no minibar in room. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door and someone in the room can hear everything going on in the bathroom with the door slid closed - not much privacy. Beds are comfortable and bikes are available which is a plus.

We enjoyed our room and stay at the Moxie. The room was of modest size bathroom, and spacious the bed comfortable. There were lots of wall hangers and not much in the way of furniture. It made the room more spacious. The staff at their service, it was all good. We are anticipating returning.

The walls are so thin. I was woken up at 4 in the morning by other guests yelling on the phone. I wish they had building security. Also, rooms are too basic. Not even a USB port to charge my phone.

We had 2 families together including 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We booked the queen double bunk room, and it was perfect. 4 queen size beds - adults on the bottom two beds, and kids on the top two beds. The lobby on the 6th floor was great for all ages - bar/lounge, work space, games for adults and kids, and a rooftop area with a great view of the Ravenel Bridge. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Amenities are great. Staffs and service could be better. We stayed for 3 nights so after the 2nd night we asked for our room to be refreshed… We went out, came back, it wasnt done. When called, they said someone was coming, we went out for a meal, came back, and nothing was done again. When we asked them, they said usually house keeping happens on the 3rd day… came the 3rd day, nothing once again. It was disappointing in that regards but otherwise, the roof too was nice…. Parking - Valet is $35 per night but otherwise, plenty of street parking.

We had an outstanding experience at the Moxie Hotel over the weekend. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. They went above and beyond to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday party, decorating the room with balloons and additional nice touches to make it really feel like a special occasion! I am now a Moxie fan for life and will look forward to finding these hotels in my future travels.

Our room was very small and the lack of a closet was troublesome, but we made do. We liked the lobby. The staff was nice, too, except for one of the men working at the bar who was rude. We liked the fact that there were free lockers to store valuables. Thanks so much.

To say this is a 'downtown' property is generous at best. In reality you will be approximately one mile from one end of King Street ... walkable certainly but the route is not completely confidence inspiring late at night ... we opted to walk in the AM ... and to take advantage of Big Bad Breakfast on route ... and Uber/Lyft on the way back.

See downtown Charleston is one of my favorite hotels. I love the ambience, I love the rooftop bar, and the rest of the hotel is great. The area around the hotel has not caught up with the rest of downtown Charleston, but it’s not awful, and I walked downtown every time I stay there.

I trust the Moxy name. I stayed in one in NYC and loved it. It’s always unexpected, unique, quirky and trendy. The lobby is on the sixth floor. The lobby and adjoining bar area is so warm and comfortable. Everything you need. This hotel was located on the top of King Street on outskirts of city. I have stayed in Charleston many times and found this location to be walkable and close enough and affordable enough to enjoy my time.

Rooms are small , no mini fridge , microwave . Just a bed and tv. Not even a place for clothes. Advertises a restaurant but that is false advertising. It has a bar that they will microwave you nachos or a meatball hoagie. 3 ring meatballs on a roll and they call it meatball sub. Food was disgusting. Employees all super nice and friendly but if you’re looking for a hotel you can enjoy dinner and a drink before heading to your room this is definitely not the place to stay.

The room was excellent but the service at the restaurant was not very attentive. I sat waiting for a long time for the bill or a refill of water, anything and nothing. I ended getting up and asking for my bill and leaving disappointed. Perhaps weekdays are not very busy and the attention is low.

This place was very cleen. Almost everything you need is on site. I do not however recommend buying sodas there,because 2 Pepsi costs me $9. But, overall it's a really nice place to stay.
