Only one very slow elevator for 11 floors!

The only elevator in the building was not working. They put me on the 11th floor. I am 62 years old. No one offered to carry my bags. I had to lug them up 11 floors. A/C sounded like a freight train, coffee maker didn't work. Parking lot had about 15 parking spaces, always full. No place to park anywhere close. Had to drive around over and over to find a spot. After going up 11 flights of stairs 5 times, I had enough. Manager acted like I was inconveniencing her because I wanted my money refunded. The WORST hotel experience I have EVER had

The location for seeing events at the Landmark Theater is perfect. Slowest elevator in the world. Parking is not clearly marked as to where to park. Front entrance is very difficult to find. There was a lot problems with lights in the room. could not turn off the dining area over head without turning off the kitch area lights. Biggest problem was the breakfast. They ran out of everything including the pancake batter in a jug with 45 minutes left. Front desk no help, and couldn't find the attendant. My big breakfast was two hardboiled eggs.

Nice location at Armory Square with lots of restaurant options. 1.5 miles to the dome, which we walked. Staff very friendly. Older building but clean. Spacious room. Great basic breakfast! Not enough parking-lot holds few cars and then you have to find options elsewhere. We got the last spot on the circle, but some had to pay in garages or walk very far through a tunnel.

Could used some updates, halways and elevators, parking is of property which could be concerning

Great location. The staff was friendly. The lobby was nice and clean. Our room was small and the carpet did not look like it had been vacuumed. The toilet paper holder was broken, the headboard wasn't attached and the bathroom mirror and sheets were dirty. The knob on the shower was broken and my husband fixed it so we could have a warm shower. The 12 dollar a night parking in a lot that was quite a walk from the building seemed a bit expensive. I did like how the front door locked and you needed to use your key card to enter.

Need more parking. Check in at 355pm and parking already full.

Location is good but onsite parking is very limited. This is a pretty big drawback for us.

We were in Syracuse for an event and the Best Western was a great location. There are several great restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and beds very comfortable. I would definitely come back to stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night en route from Ontario to Massachusetts. We arrived around 11pm and the regular parking lot was full. We were told to park in the overflow parking lot which was across and down the street. The area didn't feel very safe at night. Our room was a good size, but the bedding was so wrinkled it looked like it had just been pulled out from a laundry basket. While the sheets smelled clean, mine had what was likely an old stain square in the middle of it. The box springs were old and dirty. For breakfast there was a decent assortment of things to choose from, all primarily packaged and processed food. We opted to choose a different hotel for the way home and would not stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay my only complaint would be that the heat did not kick in so the draft from the windows kept the room freezing cold. Overall stay was great i smelled bleach when i first walked in and i smelled it on the sheets10/10 for me.

Do not stay here!!! Room was absolutely disgusting!! The floors from the elevator into the room couldn’t get dirtier. The room conditions were even worse. Stains all over the bed, there wasn’t even pillow cases on the pillows which were also stained! The door wouldn’t even shut. Was only in the room 30 seconds, left got a refund and went to a different hotel.

The room was not cleaned properly. Full of dust and hair in the shower. The sheets were very rough and the bed was not comfortable. No parking available. Horrible breakfast because of poor quality products . Yogurt and eggs were inedible.

Bathroom was filthy. The sink looked as though it was not cleaned. The toilet seemed as if someone had used it to make a no. 2 and never cleaned it. The tub had body and pubic hair all over. We called the front desk and sent someone to clean. That first impression was very traumatizing and disappointing.

The hotel was very clean as the staff very helpful. Mimi answered all my questions and was very polite I appreciated that!

Had to go to front desk for sheets for pull out bed. Then had to go to front desk for more towels. Weird substance stuck on wall (not cleaned).

It was a nice room the bathroom was a little dirty. But we only stayed for night.

You can't beat the Best Westerns location. It's within walking distance of so many great restaurants and the hotel has its own parking lot. It's a short drive to Syracuse University. We had a corner room, which was huge with lots of windows, a separate living room and a kitchenette.

Shower didn’t drain. Bathroom door didn’t open all the way past the sink. No bottled water in room. Only powdered creamer in the room with Keurig. Overall a less than average, outdated hotel.

The room was quiet, but there was a steady, low tone, electric motor noise behind the wall in the bathroom.

Property was located nicely right in Armory Square with lots of options for dining and nightlife within walking distance. Unfortunately the room they gave us was the absolute tiniest room I have ever seen in a hotel. Each floor had only 7 rooms and one of them on each was located in an almost alcove type corner which was our room. I was not happy with the size and considering that this hotel was not at capacity I didn't understand why I was not given a room for two adults.

It was comfortable for 3 of us with King bed and pull out couch in adjoining area. You could use more than one towel bar in the bathroom.

Helpful staff. Unable to resolve a basic issue: no WiFi over my four-night stay. Otherwise pleasant and flexible performance. Adequate rooms. On-site parking a plus, but not enough spaces.

I enjoyed the staff, especially Santana, Nancy, and her coworker. Santana read some of my book and we talked about it. I signed Nancy’s copy. I rarely get out, so it was a treat staying at your hotel this week.

The room with spacious with efficiency vibes. The free breakfast was as expected, nothing special. The location was quite good, within walking distance of everything. Beautiful building. Great central location- lots of nightlife around that area. Contributed to noise evening outsider. Walls are on the thin side. But room was great. Two double beds made for squishy sleeping for 4 people (2 tweens and 2 adults) but comfortable beds.

Spent 9 nights in June 2024. Good sized room - had bedroom, separate living room (both with tvs that have a large selection of channels) and a nearly full kitchen with 2-burner stove top, full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and sink. A selection of dishes also provided. Tastefully decorated but this is an older building that has been retrofit so everything is a little bit imperfect. Doesn’t detract from the stay. They do not clean the rooms during your stay unless you specifically ask for it. When asked it was done promptly. Free breakfast provided with a good selection of options such as cold cereals, fruit, muffins, granola bars, yogurt, a variety of bread products like bagels, bread slices and croissants for the self-serve toaster, and a self-serve waffle maker. Two hot selections each day but nearly every day was scrambled eggs and sausage. Would have been nice to have some variation on the hot options. Coffee, tea & juice available. No other meals for lunch or dinner provided on site. Detractors for this hotel are that all the noise from the street such as loud cars, police sirens, people playing loud music etc can be heard every night, the air conditioning system is very loud with powerful fans that I could never get to stop blowing cold air on the bed, and the room was not as clean as it could have been. Finger prints on doors, bit of mildew in the shower, that sort of thing. No safe in the room to store personal belongings.

This was our 4th time at this hotel. Our daughter attends Syracuse University so we always book this hotel. During our most recent visit the TV had no reception so we went to call the front desk but the phone was not working. Joanna upgraded us to a suite with no extra charge. The hotel and service was GREAT!!!

Great room! great location. great price. great facilities. my only issue was that when I came to check in there was one guy ahead of me and he apparently had a lot of things to deal with which the check-in manager was handling but it took a half an hour and there was another guy sitting there doing something else behind the computer who could have helped me. when I checked in it took me about 2 minutes so I would have appreciated not standing there for a half an hour since there was another employee on hand. otherwise great

Fantastic location, and even better service. I cannot say enough about the hotel staff and their willingness to accommodate.

The front desk staff was excellent. I should have gotten the name of the amazing woman at the front desk. I'm sure she shared it but I am horrible with names. She was welcoming, warm, informative, just awesome in everyway. I did not like that the bed did not fit properly on the bed frame. I was concerned that I might injure my leg trying to navigate away from the exposed frame. Also, a TV guide for the channels would be appreciated. Loved the cleanliness of the hotel. Great central location. I felt safe.

I hate to share a bad review about Best Western because it has always been my first choice for work trips. This stay was by-far the worst I’ve had. The staff seemed bothered by simple requests/questions. For example, upon check-in, I asked for a receipt of the total amount that was charged to my work card and the front desk employee refused to provide one. Our room looked halfway clean. There was hair all over the bathtub, the glassware in the kitchenette was dirty and sticky, and the pillow cases had stains on them. We stayed for 3 nights and by the second day, we were confused as to why our room hadn’t been cleaned/restocked even though we hung up the “make room” sign on our door. We brought it up to the front desk and they replied with “we’re just too understaffed to clean rooms right now”. By the end of our stay, we had a pile of dirty towels in our bathroom and a full trash bag. It’s worth mentioning that this was all experienced in their most expensive room. Unless management does something about this situation to make it right, I will no longer be staying at any Best Western hotel, whether for work or play.

The TV and phone did not work in my original room. They upgraded me to a much bigger and nicer room. Service was a little slow. I had to wait for someone to come to the desk when I was checking out which was annoying because I was in a hurry.

The front desk staff were incredible. They went out of their way in every area, from parking to restaurant suggestions and things to do!

Was not able to get a room until 5:15pm when check in is at 4:00. This made me late for an event that I was attending in Syracuse. The front staff was of no help and kept saying a room will be ready in a few minutes. I waited well over 50 minutes and kept getting the same runaround. And the gentleman at the front desk was annoyed with me as if it were my fault the room wasn’t ready. I will NEVER stay at the Best Western in Downtown Syracuse ever again. It’s not worth the stress and aggravation. I know that if I don’t cancel within 24 hours there is a penalty. If I am not checked out by noon there is a penalty. But what happens when your room isn’t available for check in at 4pm. Nothing! It’s absolutely unacceptable!!

Location so close to Armory Square is great. Short Uber up to SU campus and easy walk back down.

Had a great experience overall. A few things could definitely use some attention, but not enough to ruin our weekend or not stay there again! Great location, outstanding customer, will stay there again.

The Best Western staff has always been very wonderful, I’m a repeat guest here. Holly at the front desk this visit was especially great, thank you, Holly, for the hospitality! The hotel is near a lot of great restaurants, a solid record store, and is a short walk to Everson Museum of Art, and Landmark Theatre.

Very nice stay. Staff was helpful. Security was good. Noisy due to street traffic, advise ear plugs!

Parking was very far away and it was unsafe at night with drug deals and police officers. Would not go there again.

The hotel had a quick easy check in. It was walkable to many places and the neighborhood felt safe for where it was.

Great old hotel. Beautifully decorated and restored. The area is one of the best in Syracuse although still felt a bit unsafe to walk around outside at night

This was an overnight stay on a road trip. Fortunately the hotel car park was full so we avoided the $12 charge by using the free 6pm-9am street parking outside. The room was spacious and clean. However there was a design problem with the bathroom whereby the door could not open fully because it hit the vanity (or whoever was using it). I think the door was extra wide for wheelchair use but it had not been properly thought through. The hot and cold buffet breakfast was fine for our needs. We were not in the hotel long enough to use other facilities,

The coffee needs to be better in the breakfast area. Having machine coffee is not good, considering the options available for coffee now.

Absolutely perfect place to stay ! Service was 10/10 all the staff very lovely. The beds were very comfortable and the room very clean ! The breakfast was also fantastic and everything we wanted to visit in the city was so close

Great location and wonderful room upgrade. However, they were unprepared in time for breakfast in the morning so all the hot food was ice cold and the waffle iron wasn't heated. The only coffee was powdered instant coffee from a machine and was undrinkable, and I like Dunkin'. There was a fair variety of items, but it was all pretty unappetizing. Too bad, the place was great otherwise. I'd recommend staying here and walking to a coffee shop. The room was cheap enough to write off the breakfast without feeling bad.
