Close to everything and plenty of perks with free snacks in room and lounge. Rooftop terrace has amazing views and a great spot to relax. The free drinks and appetizers from 4-5 is also a great perk. The day we were there we were so busy touring the town we missed lunch, the free bacon wrapped chicken bites hit the spot. Additionally the free breakfast was fantastic, far above what you’ll get at a normal continental breakfast. First day we were there it was eggs Benedict.

excellent facility, right in the interesting french quarter, liked the cocktail hour great service from the staff, only negative was the high ($40) valet parking fee (only possibility if you come in a car)

Amazing! The bar has been raised for hospitality and excellence. The attention to detail, comfort, and thoughtfulness to the guest experience was shown through beautiful high end rooms, fantastic breakfast, and many included amenities like bicycles, a free cocktail hour, turn down service, and free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. The location was also superb. The Loutrel has thought creatively about comfort and hospitality. I was totally impressed and highly recommend!!!

Leah and Riley were the most welcoming and friendly bartenders—we instantly felt at home, and their energy made every visit to the bar a blast. The hotel’s amazing rooftop happy hour was the icing on the cake: fabulous drinks, stunning views, and the perfect spot to unwind. The location is ideal—tucked just off the beaten path so it’s peaceful and quiet, yet still walking distance to everything. Rafael Abren was incredible as well; he greeted us with a warm smile and gave us a simple, thoughtful tour of the mezzanine and our room. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality set the tone for the whole stay. Everyone we encountered was wonderful. This is hospitality at its finest, and we can’t wait to come back!

The dining space is entirely too cramped and breakfast buffet was plain annoying to be at so not worth the cost. The rooms / beds are very comfortable and clean but I can get that at a Mario courtyard. The bright spot of this place is the roof top patio but had no service there. So bottom line lacked the value for the money spent.

I was disappointed that there were no ice machines and that there were no room service options. (Namely coffee) I’m unsure where this information is but perhaps you could better inform people.

Amazing hotel. Breakfast was great. Lots of options to chose from and egg dish changed everyday. Loved the daily happy hour on the roof top. Also loved all the snacks. Excellent friendly Staff. Perfect location.

Pros: - lovely, boutique property with excellent service. - super walkable, convenient location. - the amenities are great, onsite gyms usually leave a lot to be desired, but theirs is nicely set up and stacked. - rooftop terrace and its views is gorgeous, I wish there was a bar up there! - the continent breakfast is delicious, hands down one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever enjoyed. Cons: - would be nice if they had a more robust kitchen onsite for room service. Right now they have very little bc they don’t have a restaurant onsite.

This hotel was beyond our expectations, it is beautiful and so clean with stunning decor and on arrival we were offered a delicious welcome cocktail…. Staff was so friendly! there is free bottle water, sparkling water and high quality snacks in the lounge….all free. The gym even had cooled towels, power bars and water. Our room was filled with snacks and the mini fridge filled with non- alcoholic drinks which were all complementary! The quality was top notch and they even offered a wonderful breakfast that accommodated gluten free and vegan. The staff was first class and we definitely would stay at the Loutrel again… also so impressed with roof top lounge and complimentary cocktail at 5:00. Great spot to hang out and play cards with the kids. The location was perfect… rooms were amazing, and beds were So comfortable, truly a Gem!

The staff is incredible. They go out a d beyound in customer service. The cleanliness of the room and hotel is spotless. Also you are within walking distance to attractions.

My wife and I stayed here while on our honeymoon in Charleston and we both loved it. Everything was clean and the staff always made sure to greet us when we left and once we returned. We will definitely be staying here again next time we return to Charleston.

Beautiful hotel and one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. The location is extremely convenient with many places/sites to see being walkable. The hotel offers many luxurious extras such as local snacks/drinks. I couldn’t recommend this stay more!!

This hotel is beautifully maintained and looks brand new. Service was great—cleaning and turndown were done every day without delay. The location is great, too—walkable to shopping, restaurants and all historic district attractions. We really enjoyed our stay!

Our stay at the Loutrel could not have been better! The staff was so friendly. The welcome cocktail, free snacks and drinks, lounge, happy hour and breakfast were such nice touches!!! The hotel location was amazing….we walked everywhere! The room was classy and beautiful. Everything seemed brand new and so clean. We would absolutely come back to this lovely hotel!!!

The Loutrel is a beautiful hotel. We had a spacious room, comfortable bed and complimentary snacks, N/A beverages and daily European breakfast. We would definitely stay there again!

This hotel was so beautiful from the moment you walk into the lobby. The room was incredible with beautiful decorations, lots of light, and very comfy beds. The breakfast in the morning had a bit of everything and was delicious.

Rooms are impersonal and bland. There are no desks. Amenities are good and free. Breakfast is pretty good but it’s served in the lobby bar. Feels very strange honestly. Location is terrific. Checkin was done standing up in the lobby. Zero privacy. Doormen don’t know how to open the door for guests though they appear to have very little else to do. Seems like the managers have spent no time in what a good guest experience should be like.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Thank you for the included water and snacks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, the coffee was very good!! It would be nice if the bar wouldn’t close at 10 pm, that’s a little too early, especially on a Friday or Saturday. I’m planning on coming back.

Loved this hotel - excellent breakfast in the morning was included and served until 10or11AM? Can’t remember. I would not get a room on the Linguard St side again though. The garbage collection began early morning and lasted a long time.

We loved The Loutrel and would recommend it to others. Perfect location. Beautiful hotel and fabulous amenities....snacks & drinks included w/room. Finest hour on rooftop. Dyson hair dryer, crisp sheets, bright room, BIG tv, cookies @turn down in evening.

Check-in was difficult. We had a car and the valet space was not available and there was no valet to help us. We finally got parked on our own and into the entrance which is also their bar. The live music made it very difficult to hear the receptionist. She shrugged and agreed it was very loud but she made no suggestion to find a quieter location to check us in. It was very unpleasant. She gave us our room keys and sent us on our way. As we entered the elevator a man jumped in behind us and said he was the valet and he would take us to our room as we carried our own luggage. It was all very strange and not a good first impression. We were not informed until the third night of our stay the hotel offered a "finest hour" from 4 to 5 with a free cocktail and canapes. That was disappointing. The location of the hotel is great, the room was large and clean, but we thought it was overpriced for the experience. I want to give a shout out to the morning breakfast staff and the daily cleaning staff - they were awesome and the most friendly to us.

Facilities were nice and the area is good for walking to shops and restaurants. Staff was not present or attentive at times.

This was a great place to stay- centrally located with many amenities. It was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. Customer Service was top notch!

First the hotel is located across the street from a convenience store that is open 24 hours and sells alcohol. Our room was located on that side of the building and the nighttime noise is non stop. Loud engines, loud car music, screaming and other noises go on all night long. It was nearly impossible to sleep for the 3 nights we were here due to the noise. The store also attracts its fair share of homeless individuals, some of whom sleep on the street in front of the store. This was directly in front of the hotel so that is effectively your view. With regard to the other hotel amenities they sound good on paper but aren’t as fabulous in real life. They have a nightly happy hour, but the snacks offered are typically a small tray of of appetizers like chicken skewers that have long gone cold and aren’t regularly refreshed or kept warm as food safety laws require. The hotel also doesn’t offer daily housekeeping service unless requested which is fine, but when we ran out of toilet paper we were made to go to the lobby and carry our roll upstairs because no staff was on site to assist. Just not what should be expected at a property like this. Finally the hotel employees seem put out by the most basic requests. Requests for a late check out was immediately denied and it was difficult to get extra towels. We ran out of toilet paper and had to come to the lobby to get more because housekeeping was short staffed. Unacceptable. The front desk girl was also rude. Valet staff was great.

The staff at The Loutrel were wonderful. From personalization of check-in to recommendations for dinners or activities, everything made you feel special. Welcome drinks, nightly happy hour, snacks and beverages in your room and a shared lounge and breakfast made the room rate very worth it. The hotel was only one block from City Marketplace and other venues for dining and entertainment. All walkable. We would stay here again.

Best experience we’ve had at a hotel in years. Everything about The Loutrel is top notch. Wonderful room, comfort, amenities, breakfast, services, cleanliness, atmosphere, you name it….but most of all, amazing people. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, and genuine folks. Special kudos to Brenda and the other 2 ladies of the breakfast team for their sunny and hospitable demeanor and to the valet team of Lucas, George, and Chase. They are outstanding, attentive, energetic young men.

Beautiful hotel in historic Charleston just steps away from the City Market. Spacious rooftop seating area. Several restaurants, attractions, and shops within walking distance. Staff is very helpful and attentive. I had a heat-related incident and multiple staff members checked on me and offered to help. I would definitely stay here again!

This is a really nice hotel, but is lacking food service beyond a reasonable breakfast buffet. Charleston is, of course, an incredible restaurant town, so dinner is not an issue. But there's nothing nearby for a quick lunch. If they could address that, it'd be 5-stars. One tip: request a room that is NOT on the alley; the morning garbage collection reverberates loudly.

Located in the beautiful French Quarter, round the corner from the market. Close to shopping, restaurants and the water.

The hotel is beautiful and is in a great location. You literally walk out the front door and all the sights are less than a 10 minute walk.

It is a very consistent hotel located at the heart of the market in Charleston.

The Loutrel is a lovely upscale intimate hotel. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. It has the perfect location, in the core of the French quarter and close to shopping, restaurants and famous sights. The breakfast was disappointing. I expected a better buffet with more choices. It is served in the lobby of the hotel and there is not enough room for all the guests.
