Very charming inn. We stayed here two nights on a week long trip to central California. Very convenient to Hearst Castle, Big Sur, San Simeon, elephant seal rookery and Cambria. Boardwalk is across a very quiet road where you can watch beautiful sunsets. Room was huge with a gas fireplace, King size bed and small kitchen area with sink and refrigerator too. Heated pool although we didn’t use. I am picky about hotels and this was a great find and the price was reasonable too.

Newly renovated room. Comfortable bedding, clean bathroom. Fireplace did not work at first. No screen on window so keeping the window open to hear the ocean was not an option. Room looked onto a parking lot with no view of anything great.

The room was HOT with no ceiling fan. The water in the shower did not drain. There was an ant problem. Checking out the staff was rude and acted inconvenienced by the guests checking out. One positive was the staff at check in. She was helpful. I would never stay at this hotel again

While our overnight stay was very pleasant a little attention to detail would have made it even better. Stray hairs in the bathroom sink and what looked like blood on the bathroom door handle were the first things noticed upon entry. The room was quite large and well appointed though we were a little confused by the decor. There was a nice print on the wall but it was half covered by the TV and would have been better suited hanging above the fireplace mantle. Likewise with the swing out wall mounted light fixture that seemed haphazardly placed "just because". The bed was extremely comfortable with quality sheets and comforter and the working fireplace were nice touches.

Very clean, wonderful view. Down the street from Hearst Castle and Elephant seals. We actually moved from SLO to Cambria for the peacefulness. No regrets.

Great staff, clean room but very loud. The walls are thin and we could hear kids running the halls, people arguing, and doors slamming. This did not stop most of our stay. Again, the folks that work at Fireside were fantastic and the room was very clean.

This property is truly oceanfront. Sure and book an ocean view. There are a lot of hotels on this street but not many with the views offered at Fireside Inn. Sitting on our private patio was the best part. I did love how there were also shared areas to sit and watch the Ocean. We have ATT and we’re in SOS mode so no cellular. There is wifi. The fireplace was nice in the room but gave off zero heat. It is gas. Great food options within walking distance and the famous Moonstone Beach boardwalk is steps from your room. It was a great trip.

Nice property and room. Great location and service. The only complaint was the noise during daytime hours. The doors close heavily causing them to slam. The house cleaning staff and maintenance workers were also very talkative and loud while working in the hallways.

The hotel is nicely kept. The young man who was at the front desk seemed a little lost with simple request. The rooms don’t have AC, a detal I missed. Made for a frustrated wife. An open window and a fan helped smooth things over.

Our check-in experience was extremely poor. The receptionist, Angelina, was unhelpful and unprofessional. After an eight-hour drive, and despite me providing the Hotels.com reservation number, our full name, and showing her the booking confirmation on my phone, she refused to assist in locating our second room reservation. She insisted that I call the booking agency because "there was no second room reservation." and I had to figure out with them. When I expressed my frustration with her lack of assistance, she responded that she was "matching my energy." This stressful and unprofessional exchange occurred in front of seven guests, including two children. In the end there was a reservation and she didn't look it properly. I expect a much higher standard of customer service and professionalism from a hospitality business, especially when interacting with families after a long day of travel. Sincerely,

After driving several hours we arrived to find that the office was locked with nobody to check us in. We had to sit outside along with several other people who arrived with the same issue. I have never arrived at a hotel that had no one at the front desk at a typical check in time. A note was on the door that the office was closed for a half hour for a lunch break. For the price we paid, I feel there should be someone available to check us in. It was a Friday evening at 7:00 pm.

I was arriving late and called the property to ensure someone would be at the front desk when I arrived. I was able to get a human at the property on the phone quickly. I appreciate this!! They confirmed someone would be there. The property is right off of the 101 and just across a small street from beach and beach/nature trails. Cambria is gorgeous. 10/10 recommend. The day after my arrival I took the short trip to Hearst Castle for a tour, spectacular! The hotel itself was clean and the rooms had everything you need to be comfortable. Parking was easy. Our room had a fireplace, places to sit, and more room than a typical hotel room. Some rooms had small patios which have to be an amazing place to sit and breathe in the fresh air in Cambria. The heater in my room was not working and within minutes of my call to the front desk I had a space heater in my room. I rarely get such expedient service at a hotel. Overall, I had a great stay and can't wait to return to both the beautiful small town of Cambria as well as the Fireside Inn!

When we checked in we were greeted by a friendly young man who was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately when I tried to book another night a day later the girl who helped me was not very helpful. We were told we had to check out and not be able to check in till 4:00. I should've not been urprised when her phone case on the counter read, Don't F*** with me. Also breakfas is not offered. We made reservations elsewhere for the third night.

We had a great time at Fireside Inn. It is a quiet place, close to the beach and small town Cambria. The room was very clean upon our arrival. If you are staying for several days and need room cleaning, make sure you tell the front office the night before, or that service may not be available. Excellent place to explore and hike several other coastal trails or small towns. Hearst Castle is close by and worth a visit.

Right across Pacific Coast Highway to the ocean, it's such a wonderful location. We walked to Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill, which was casual, friendly and the food was amazing. The fireplace in our room fired up with the flick of a switch, looked and felt exactly like a log fire and made our room cosy and romantic in minutes. What a gem of a place.

The property looked nicer online than in person. It has long corridor hallways to access your room & is not a cozy welcoming place to stay. Though the rooms have nice beds and are kept clean, and of course you can’t beat the location! No breakfast is offered and instead recommended to go to the Cowtipper which was closed the 1st day of our stay and fair at best.

This was the perfect stop between LA and San Francisco. There are a row of places to stay along this stretch that are quiet and close to a nice beach, but we chose this one for the in- room fireplaces. Wonderful staff, very comfortable. Nice coffee service in a room off the pool.

Exceptionally comfortable beds, nice little gas fueled fireplace and coffee room in the morning. It would have been nicer if they had something small to eat in the morning like donuts or bagels. Walls are thin as you can hear your neighbors converse in normal levels of speech

Liked the location. Did not like the fact that breakfast buffet was discontinued and the room did not have a microwave or table available for in room eating. For the price we paid, we expected breakfast as we had received in the past. The Covid "excuse" doesn't cut it anymore.

Cambria is our little get away when we just want to take a few days off and relax. Weather its with the family or as a couple. First time staying at Fireside Inn. Its a nice place to stay. It's one of the last hotels on the row of hotels that go along the street right across the beach. Room was very nice and just right for 2 people. Walking distance to a few restaurants and a short drive from main street that has all the nice little shops and restaurants. Also right across from the beach where you can take nice walks along the paths they have there. Overall a great place and would stay here again in the future.
