We booked this stay for our anniversary. We love Moonstone Beach and I was very surprised to get the great deal I did. When we checked in , we were upgraded without even asking. The room was simple but nice. Bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and had it ourselves both times both times we used it.

Pros: Cross from Moonstone Beach, room and lobby clean. Cons: no AC- room was 80 degrees when we checked in and there’s no way to cool it down other than to open the windows. Once open you hear all the noise from the restaurant next door as well as the road. Difficult to sleep with so much noise. Another con is that there is no staff working overnight. So, if there was an emergency, there’s no one there to help. That was concerning to me because I was traveling with an elderly person and a child. Front door was supposed to be locked after 8pm because there was no one working at the hotel, but the door was not locked. Seems like a safety issue. Probably would not stay here again, mostly related to the safety concerns as well the room temperature issue.

Nice coast property. David was more than accommodating for a few glitches with the TV and an overheated room. It would be nice if they had AC but understand it's not needed most of the year. The room and its amenities were nice.

The Oceanfront balcony we had on the second floor was amazing. The property is quiet and clean. The rooms and property need updating. The jacuzzis werent operating properly, one was completely not working and the other one had only 2 jets. But I like the private room they are in!! But talk about location and excellent customer service!! This place nails this!! Right across from the beach. Cute outdoor fireplace overlooking the ocean and can go hiking and exploring the tidepools across the street!! I would definitely stay again! Request Room 202 for the best view on the property!!

Only stayed here because the jet tub in the room. I even called ahead of time to make sure tubs were working because this was the reason for the trip. Jet tub wouldnt drain so they sent out a handyman and all he did was take out the drain plug and told us there was nothing more he can do for us and no other accommodation. When we tried calling the numbers they gave us we either had no answer or the people that did answer told us they didnt know what to do for us. Continued to try to contact management and there was no help. Frustrated my husband and ruined the trip

Very dirty! Strings of built up dust hanging off of ceiling fan over the bed. Coffee marks on comforter. Bottom of cream colored curtains stained brown. Mold in door track. The hotel we selected was janky. When we arrived, we kept smelling urine in the bathroom. After looking more into it, the rim around the bowl was covered in urine. It was never cleaned. The cable did not work, key wouldn’t work and had to walk down the street to a sister hotel to get a replacement key. The exterior of the hotel is nice and appealing. We definitely will not stay here again.

Lobby at the hotel was closed and we had to another hotel to check in with not so welcoming reception. The bedding sheets were dirty and seemed that weren’t changed from previous gusts. The phone didn’t worked , so we had to go to other hotel reception requesting service.

From the outside, this hotel looks charming—clean lines, fire pits, well-lit signage. The manager was funny and kind upon check-in, so no complaints there. But do not be fooled. The moment I opened the door to Room 217, I was hit with a stale, musty funk that made me recoil. Then I saw the carpet. Covered in questionable stains (likely from animals or the poor decisions of previous occupants, based on the smell and stain), it gave me a full-body shiver. I knew immediately: shoes would remain on the entire stay!! The interior was dated and depressing. That smell? It wasn’t just in the air—it clung to your clothes, your hair, your sinuses, your luggage. I left smelling like a forgotten pile of wet laundry in an abandoned basement. We bought a can of Febreeze – there wasn’t enough to quell the odor. As if that weren’t enough, there’s a restaurant next door that receives deliveries early in the morning. Great if you want to be woken up early while on vacation – I, however, did not. And if you're lucky enough to stay on a Thursday night, you’ll be treated to the clanging symphony of trash trucks – not 1, but 2, the next morning, emptying dumpsters right outside your back door. Also, the highway runs directly behind the hotel, so forget about peaceful sleep—unless you find comfort in the constant hum of traffic. Delightful. Bottom line: This place is a sensory assault of the worst kind. Looks decent on the outside, but it was so gross. I do not recommend.

Great location. We enjoyed ourselves, but our room had a nasty mildew, wet dog smell coming from the bathroom that was really off putting. Had to buy air fresheners at the store. I understand this place is pet friendly, but still…

Beautiful ocean side view. Room normal-level clean, early 2000s decor and design, fireplace feature was great but could put out a little more heat would be nice. Bed very clean linens (no old dirty duvets/quilts on top yay), but did not have a fresh laundered scent not sure why. Staff was very kind, attentive and provided brochure with activities in town, times stores open, phone numbers and a map - superb customer service and easy checkout. There was an additional $50 added to my card (temporary hold? not sure why the amount didn't match the fee from online, but i didnt look closely when checked in so thats partially my error. Would stay again sometime, but definitely double check the final price before you pay on-site. Thanks for a nice stay. 👍

The room was very large and spacious, updated and well kept. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Our room window was facing the parking lot of the restaurant parking lot so I did not want to sleep with the windows open so it did get very warm at night. They don’t have AC in the room (or I just never found the thermostat) I requested a fan which they gave me, it helped a lot but it was quite dirty and dusty. No big deal. The jacuzzi was nice and we had it to ourselves. This location is beautiful, across the street from the wooden walking path.

the fireplace was broken in our room and it was a cold evening, screen broken and on the ground floor, noisy next to the restaurant next door. rooms were just okay, older, definitely needs updating. Bed was comfortable, easy check in and parking. Great location across from the beach was the most positive draw to this location.

We had two rooms on the front of the hotel. We could hear the ocean all night and it was so soothing. Bedding comfortable. Very nice bathroom - I liked that the mirror and vanity were separate from the bathtub/shower and toilet.

Location is great with ocean view from select rooms. Easy access to surrounding beach areas. Nice (unrelated) restaurant next-door. Room was good size but access to staff was very limited. TV didn't work and option to text for assistance didn't help due to limited wifi. Unfortunately first floor beach view room upgrade was blocked by cars parked on the road -- But that's a learning step at our end. Would have loved coffee in the lobby available before 9 AM. Be prepared to find a coffee shop for breakfast. Great little town.

It's important to know... If you have a ocean view room, ground level. Your view is blocked by cars that park in the street and go to the restaurant next door. Restaurant opens at 11 and closes at 9. Your view is blocked all day. Really disappointing!

Everything about our stay far exceeded our expectations. The gentleman at the front desk was so friendly, funny and delightful. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. I would love to return some day and spend a week or two.

The only complaint I have was that the card keys were deactivated everyday. We had to walk to their other facility to get the cards activated since the lobby is closed at 6pm. Very inconvenient!

There was no service after 5 pm each evening. We had trouble with the heat and called the desk at 7 pm. After 20 or so rings someone answered from a different hotel and told us that no on could check the het until the next day. The next day there was no one on duty at all and no one came to check the heat. We had no heat in the room for the entire stay.

Very nice, check-in super easy, Cambria is a beautifil city, and there’s a great restaurant next to the inn. Would definitely recommend it.

Checked in at 530pm, office was closed, had to go to a different hotel down the street to check in. I have stayed here before, when it was privately owned, which was much better overall.

I loved it here! Right across the street from the ocean. We left the windows open and we could hear the ocean all night. Not a lot of traffic in that area at night so all you could hear was the waves. Great amenities too and the area has some amazing restaurants within a mile.

Hotel was steps away from the beach. The room was very clean with comfortable beds. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and we’ll definitely be back.

I stayed in the king deluxe suite partial ocean view the view was great the jacuzzi was big and worked well you can hear the ocean from your room the bed felt great as well the beach is right across the street not many fast food options around a lot of restaurants that close early and don’t do take out but other than they me an my wife will definitely come back.

Great location adjacent to Moonstone Grill. Nice, modern beach decor. Appreciate the two spas and doggie poop bags. Coffee was good (Starbucks) but no continental breakfast or cookies, which other inns offer. Clean and bright rooms and hallways. Only reason this in got 4 stars was due to the plumbing issues. Hot water kept going out and water pressure gave out our first night there. The screen door to the patio was also broken so we couldn’t leave the slider open. Otherwise, would stay again but maybe not my first choice.

The hotel is in a beautiful location on Moonstone Beach Drive. We had a great view of the ocean from our oceanfront room. The hotel could use some upgrades. The room we stayed in wasn’t very clean. The best food option along Moonstone Beach Drive is The Sea Chest Inn. All your other best options are in town.

Location is great with ocean view from select rooms. Easy access to surrounding beach areas. Nice (unrelated) restaurant next-door. Room was good size but access to staff was very limited. TV didn't work and option to text for assistance didn't help due to limited wifi. Unfortunately first floor beach view room upgrade was blocked by cars parked on the road -- But that's a learning step at our end. Would have loved coffee in the lobby available before 9 AM. Be prepared to find a coffee shop for breakfast. Great little town.

Ask for room on south side as there’s a restaurant next door.. north side next door, and noisy well into closing at 11pm. Supposed to be coffee at 8AM in lobby..no, almost 9AM both night stays..no desk clerk.

We stayed two nights (Sun-Mon) just prior to Thanksgiving. Facility is directly across the street from the beach and the sounds of the ocean are soothing. Check-in/out was a breeze w/the room upgraded from two queens to a king. Staff were friendly and responsive. I witnessed some unpleasant guest behavior and thought the staff were exceedingly patient. Room was fine although it did show some wear (bathroom). Hotel is dog friendly (be prepared for a one-time $40 fee) but you need to walk your pup off grounds. Right next door to a well regarded restaurant (Moonstone Bar & Grill) and down the street from another that serves traditional meals, The Cow Tipper

2nd time staying at this hotel. The rooms are lovely. The only compliant I had was that room was very stuffy and I had to sleep with the sliding door open to get some fresh air. Also the room I was in was located right next to the a restaurant so I was woken up early when the trucks were making deliveries.
