Not ADA approved because elevator wasn’t working. They have two handicapped spots, but one is below ground and couldn’t be used due to lack of elevator. We never had our room cleaned because person who checked us in didn’t tell us we needed to request it. No emergency exit map displayed. Sound on phone inadequate, so we had to go to the front desk with questions/requests. Some local information in the room would have been nice.

A comfortable hotel close to Moonstone Beach. The room was nice and bed very comfortable. They have a nice jacuzzi/spa area with a steam room that is nice to popminto at the end of the day! Massages are available and the masseuse, Linden is very good! The ‘Continental breakfast’ is meager at best. There’s a toaster, and microwave, with coffee and hot water. They offer Coffeemate creamer, flavored and plain. They do not have cream or half and half for the coffee. I would say the ‘continental breakfast’ is their weakest area, and could use a vast upgrade! For bit a lot of effort.

Beautiful hotel walking distance to a quiet beach. Lisa the manager was so friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, well stocked and quiet. Plenty of space to pack underground. The spa can use a bit more supervision on cleaning and restocking, breakfast IS basic.

The Hotel is centrally located between Main Street and Moonstone Drive. Staff was helpful with plenty of recommendations. The Self Service Bar was not working during our visit and although they promote EV charging it is only for Tesla vehicles no matter if you have the adaptable charger. Water pressure in the shower was bad. But room was spacious and comfortable.

The stay was amazing. Greeted immediately by staff. They advised me that the elevator wasn't working, but luckily I didn't mind the stairs since my room was by the stairs on the second floor. Also on the second floor is their Wellness Center, it includes a steam room, showers, hot tub, and massage rooms. You need an appointment for the massages, but the rest of the amenities are first come first serve. They were amazing, the steam room felt wonderful and the hot tub is great with a view of the night sky. My room was clean, very spacious, comfortable bed, the fireplace gives a beautiful ambiance and heats the room up. The bathroom was clean and roomy, shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash if you forgot yours. The tub was huge, you can fit 2 average sized people in it. In the lobby you have beer and wine on tap, you do need a separate key card and are charged per pour. I didn't get one, but it looks cool. Now the breakfast in the morning is coffee, oatmeal, pastries. Nearby, there is a boardwalk that leads you to the beach, which the walk alone is scenic. Overall, my stay was relaxing. A good mental and physical recharge.

Great stay at El Colibri en Cambria. The hotel was small, quiet and cozy! Rooms were clean, nice & spacious! Price was very affordable. Close to gas & food. Location is also prime because it takes you straight to beach. I wish the spa area was better thought out. There’s only 2 massage rooms, 1 masseuse, a tiny little jacuzzi and 1 steam room. None the less, it was a pleasant stay and I would definitely book here again.

Hotel is currently under construction. Bar/lounge advertised is closed due to this. Construction can be loud 11-5. We tried to use hot tub upstairs but it was under maintenance. Inconvenience, for us as we were looking forward to using it. However, staff was friendly.

Whole thing was just wrong and what see on website was nothing there .No Hospitality at all ! No coffee or anything to offer when you arrive after long hours driving. No Breakfast at all when at their website says continental breakfast!! Water at shower not even enough to shower right. Big bug flies at window. Dirty and gross. Refrigerator small not able put more then 2 bottles of water.No microwave. Never back to this hotel again!!

No complimentary water offered with limited breakfast items. Coffee and Hot water only with prepackaged muffins and cereal. No milk to use for cereal. Also breakfast items not available for early birds. Needed to wait! Also no daily room service to make bed or receive fresh towels. They immediately alerted us that we needed to ask for fresh towels if we wanted them. If you are ok with that, the property is walking distance to main shops in Cambria and Moonstone beach.

The room is not anything like the pictures at Expedia. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty which we realized once we got under the shower so we had to use shampoo to wash my body. The entry area was very dirty. Overall it was an ok hotel, but not the "exceptional" rating for which we chose it.

The interior of the room is a bit dated. Shower head is a cheap Homedepot piece, and very low water pressure gave a trickle shower. Shower soap/shampoo bottles were empty, and no bed making service for the second night. For the price of the room I expected some more luxury.

The bed was incredibly hard. The shower was moldy. Check in was incredibly awkward & the receptionist barely gave us any information on the room or the hotel. Had high expectations but we won’t be back.

Pet friendly. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. We were missing a window covering from one our windows and had to use a towel for privacy and light block light. There was also a small ant infestation in our room. Probably from previous guests food crumbs. Not a dealbreaker, but woke up to ants crawling around us in the middle of the night. Luckily, they were non biting ants.

This is a quiet little hotel set apart from the strip of beach motels. I liked the underground parking and the view of trees out my window. It felt luxurious, with the gas fireplace and comfortable bed. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful.

The room itself was very nice. The downside is the downstairs parking garage is dark and sketchy. Anyone can access the hotel through the elevator in the parking garage. The WiFi was terrible.

Our overnight stay at El Colibri was great! My husband and I loved it. It was quiet, intimate and located right off the Pacific Ocean, where a short stroll took us to the beautiful beach. Walking into the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff, and didn’t even have to wait for our room which was ready for us to check in to even though we arrived 45 min early. Our room was perfect, clean and the view was very accommodating overlooking a wooded area. We could even hear the waves not too far in the distance which instantly instilled peace and relaxation. The bathroom was super clean and had all the amenities. The only thing we could complain about was the water pressure of the shower. It took a long time to rinse all the conditioner out of my hair, and my hubby usually prefers a stronger flow as well. Our bed was very comfortable, such that I didn’t miss my own bed at home. Loved having the fireplace on at night, and hearing the waves crashing in the distance. I didn’t have a hard time falling asleep at all. In the morning we had Starbucks coffee that was supplied in our room, and we were quite satisfied with the grab-and-go continental breakfast items provided in the lobby. We splurged on dinner at Madeline’s Restaurant in town, which was amazing as well, so we weren’t expecting to have an elaborate breakfast anyway lol The best part of our stay had to be the Signature Spa Treatment!! Linden was amazing and we couldn’t say enough about the experience she gave us. ❤️

To drink they only had coffee and hot water for hot chocolate. To eat was cold out of refrigerator package bagels and pastries, something you would get out of a vending machine. Also had package oatmeal and a few cereals. Had a bowl of apples on the table. An assortment of fruit and fresh pastries would have been great and maybe some juice.

Room not available at our 4pm check-in, pathetic/worthless continental breakfast, no hot water from 9pm until about 9:30am rendering en-suite hot tub useless. Uninterested staff when this issues were mentioned at check-out. .Place has gone downhill VERY fast in last two years.

Great place but hotel check in mix up due to a staff shift change left us outside in the car for 40 mins . Breakfast a bit limited and WiFi poor in an area which already has cellnet disruption .

This hotel is located right at the beginning of the boardwalk trail to the beach, with restaurants in the area all within walking distance. It's pet friendly as well and that's a big plus. The room is nice and the bed is very comfortable. It has air conditioning which is great, some of the hotels in the area dont and it can get very humid and stuffy near the coast. We love the fireplace ambiance, and the view out into the woods is very pleasing to the eyes. One of the biggest pro as a car guy is this hotel has underground parking, which is unheard of in this area. It's nice to not wake up to mist and dew all over the car. A section of the driveway is very steep and will scrape your car if it's a low slung sports car, but that prob doesnt affect most of the guests in rentals and SUVs. The hotel looks updated and well kept, we brought our ferrari and it makes a great picture My only complaint is the shower water pressure is very low, while the bath tub is great. There's also not much of a breakfast to speak of even though they did sell it that way. It's basically coffee, tea and milk and some instant cereals, not even fruits or pastry of sorts. So no dining option available but you can always drive or walk to the nearby village, all very closeby. The beach and trail is also very close and easily accessible. Overall a new favorite for the area

Was checked into a lower level room with a view of the parking lot. We had to keep the curtains drawn so people couldn’t look in. It made the room dark and unappealing. I asked if we could be switched and the lady at the desk was unapologetic,nor offering to find a way to make our stay better. She said it was full up and had no way to change the room because that’s not something she does. She was surprisingly indifferent to the fact that we’d spent a lot of money for what was supposed to be a pleasant stay. By the way, if you offer “continental” breakfast during certain hours we expect the food to last. There is no excuse especially when all that is provided are prepackaged items. We are in Cambria a couple times a year and it’ll be our last stay at this “boutique” hotel. Don’t expect upscale charm as the website states.

Not ADA approved because elevator wasn’t working. They have two handicapped spots, but one is below ground and couldn’t be used due to lack of elevator. We never had our room cleaned because person who checked us in didn’t tell us we needed to request it. No emergency exit map displayed. Sound on phone inadequate, so we had to go to the front desk with questions/requests. Some local information in the room would have been nice.

We checked in late in the day. Bernice called me around 8 PM to let me know that she would leave at 10 PM and gave me instruction on how to get our keys if we arrived after she had already left. When we arrived, Bernice just got into her car. Even though her shift was over and she was already leaving, she got out of her car and helped us check in and made sure we were well situated before she left for the evening. Great customer service!! Thanks again!

The customer service from all staff members was a D! There were excuses daily! We checked out a day early! I’m waiting for a refund for 1 nights stay. I asked for management to call me and haven’t heard from anyone!! Poor!!! Do not stay at this hotel resort!

When we arrived, there was no power anywhere in Cambria. The manager (at least she said she was) was sitting in the dark. It was a chilly night and power wasn't expected until 3am so we didn't want to stay if there wasn't going to be heat. She promised she would refund the money but it never happened. They can't seem to be reached by phone. No one answers and there is ability to leave a message. Highly disappointed in them and I don't have any recourse because I booked through Expedia and they can't reach anyone there, either. I would NOT recommend. They have disappointing reviews for other reasons as well. I should have taken those as a warning to stay away from this place. If you are reading this, you have been warned.

Go somewhere else. This was a spontaneous romantic getaway that was bad due to maintenance and management. 1.WiFi was suboptimal. My wife had to do some work over the internet and it was very slow. It was just computer charting so we weren’t sure why it was so slow. When I asked a staff member about it she said they upgraded it recently it used to be worse. 2. We were supposed to be on second floor but when we mentioned my wife had a service dog we were told we could only be on the first floor. This seemed questionable at best and illegal at worst. 3. The original room we were given was 110 super close to the lobby. We paid for a “superior room”($360) for one night. It looked nice but was smaller than the photos. No couch. Hot tub malfunctioned and didn’t turned on and off. No hand soap in room, no tv remote. 3. Room 112 bigger and had a couch. We went to dinner around 730 staff had went home early as they said they locked Bobby at 9pm? We came back around 10pm used the bathroom and the toilet didn’t flush. Called number on desk it goes to morrow bay inn said not much they could do. No maintenance or anyone to come in. But “feel free to use lobby bathroom”. Really?? Next day spoke to staff, we left @10:30 no one came by to even try to fix it. We were told the manager would try to make it right. Didn’t happen. We left feeling unappreciated and regretting spending our money at this place. Manager was supposed to call us back and make it right NEVER DID!

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our late arrival from Vegas. When I called and let them know it would be midnight, they made arrangements for us. The morning staff were just as accommodating. We’ll definitely be back and can recommend.

Room not available at our 4pm check-in, pathetic/worthless continental breakfast, no hot water from 9pm until about 9:30am rendering en-suite hot tub useless. Uninterested staff when this issues were mentioned at check-out. .Place has gone downhill VERY fast in last two years.

Beautiful location. 5 minute easy walk on boardwalk path to the beach. 10 minutes to Hearst Castle. Great shops and food options in Cambria. Linn’s shop’s & restaurant is a MUST! Room was nice and the bed so comfortable! It would be nice to have a folding luggage stand as the “closet” is small.

I liked that the hotels location was apart from the more developed section of Moonstone Beach yet easily accessible to the wooden boardwalk that runs along its length. A nice place to walk … The back of hotel borders a natural wooded area but the front is nearer to the access street

The hotel was comfortable with a fireplace in each room which was cozy. The nightstand had someone else’s nail polish, bottle of lotion and nail file. Continental breakfast consists of cereal and packaged bagels, donuts and pastries. Coffee was available but ran out of 1/2 and 1/2. No towels in the wellness center despite requesting them. The desk staff was very friendly, dogs are welcome with a dog walk area on property. Downtown and the beach are of equal distance making the hotel an ideal location.

Great location! Small boutique hotel with personalized service. Minutes drive from downtown Cambria and 5-minute walk to Moonstone beach. Excellent location for touring the central coast, particularly San Simeon and Hearst Castle. Room was lovely with high ceilings and a gas fireplace. It was comfortable and had everything we needed.

The location is good. A short walk along a pretty wood boardwalk takes you to the beach. Also walkable to "downtown" Cambria and its shops and restaurants. Our room had laminate floors, which was great for us because we were traveling with a dog. The pet fee was reasonable at $25/night.

Excellent bedroom spacious and quiet. Great bath. No reception when we came just after 10 pm. One of the staff was not friendly. No water at room or breakfast. Basic breakfast. Could be better.

We had wanted to stay here for years and finally did. The hotel is nice, small and well appointed. The advertisement said it had a "bar,". It has a "self-serve" area with two wines and one choice on beer that you have to purchase a debit type card to purchase. Free breakfast was OK, everything is packaged, nothing fresh.

I understand it was a last minute reservation but according to the hotel website we thought we were getting a fair price. First the room price increased at some point it was around 370 before taxes. We ended up paying around $ 470 for a 1 star hotel breakfast was included but for a boutique hotel it was worst that continental breakfast served in motel 6 Very disappointing

The hotel is close to the beach and the room was nice, but room was very nosey. You could hear the people in the next room. The continental breakfast was disappointing. To drink they only had coffee and hot water for hot chocolate. To eat was cold out of refrigerator package bagels and pastries, something you would get out of a vending machine. Also had package oatmeal and a few cereals. Had a bowl of apples on the table. An assortment of fruit and fresh pastries would have been great and maybe some juice.

The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and covered in black hair. I notified stuff about it. They assured me they would have a deep cleaned later that night. I returned to my room, and the shower was still covered in black hair, even after bringing it to the managers attention.
