The room was too warm with no air conditioner. Beware of that during summer. Otherwise good hotel. The breakfast was good.

Staff was incredibly rude on check-in and very slow. Things did not improve. Heating is central old radiators so even with both windows in my room open it was probably over 90 degrees. I asked the desk to turn off the heating and they said they had but the radiator continued to pump out heat. Finally after three calls and a room visit (I guess to verify it was actually warm?) it was finally turned off. Breakfast was an abysmal selection of pastries and fruit with hard boiled eggs and tiny yogurts. There is one coffee machine in the lobby which takes forever. Carpet in room was dingy and disgusting. Windows have to be open due to the heat, so it is very loud. Bed is uncomfortable and right next to the door of the tiny room. Bathroom is so small you cannot stand inside it and use the sink.

The front desk clerk that assisted me (young Indian fellow with glasses) was kind of socially awkward and a little rude, asking me about my driving outside of the hotel, as if it were any of his business what I did outside of the hotel (unintentionally did a U-turn in a 1 way) and he wouldn’t drop it when I was asking about parking, food service etc.. they do not provide tooth brushes, tooth paste and hand soap but they did have shampoo & conditioner. They leave you 1 pack of instant coffee per room. What I did like about it was the building itself is rich with history (Turkish hotel from 1905). Overall even if I didn’t encounter that rude man child, I’d still give it 3.8 mainly carried by the building its self. Oh.. the “continental breakfast” is just instant oatmeal, hard boiled eggs left out in the open, cereal, store bought danishes. Advertises parking they do not have their own parking. This place teeters between artsy vintage and minimal effort/lazy.

Generally the place was clean and well maintained, but in ways it seemed a bit 'tired.' There was a wastebasket in the bathroom, but none in the main room. The bathroom sink was awkwardly small, with little shelf space nearby. The included breakfast buffet was adequate but not great. The bar/restaurant off the lobby was a real plus, with excellent food.

Lack of investment and maintenance in the property is plain to see from the state of the rooms to the quality and options of the breakfast “menu”. The potential of a unique hotel setting in the historic building is lost and overshadowed by the aging facilites. The hotel should not be rated at 4 stars but closer to 2. On the positive, the location is excellent for quick and easy access to most must see locations in the city. Lastly, most of the staff is doing a commendable job with the limited resources they seme to be provided.
