It was a serviceable hotel but not nice by any standard. Only 1 of the 4 elevators was working during the whole stay, then that one broke, too. They all ran so slowly that people would opt to climb 5 flights of stairs or wait 10+ mins if there was a morning rush, The hotel has a bar but it was closed the whole 5 days I was here except for one night when there was some random event that had no signage to indicate what it was for? And it wasn’t clear if guests were invited or if it was a private event. Fixtures in the shower were rusting. Bedcloths were very thin and heavily snagged and pilling. Carpet stained and kind of smelled. Otherwise, perfectly serviceable.

Avoid this hotel. We arrived and only one of four elevators was working, and that one stopped working on day two. They never fixed it nor was there ever any sign of an attempt; other guests said they had stayed a year before and only two had been working then. Every guest and the service staff had to share one service lift (the other one was out of service) causing long waits every time. If any guest had suffered a health emergency how would they have gotten help in time? The maid service was also terrible - they didnt clean surfaces or vacuum, they just replace the towels and made the bed (no new sheets). We will be asking for a partial refund.

Perfect location for the Warfield! Exterior is modern and appealing. I paid for an early check in- but was informed my room was not ready despite arrival after the promised check in. The room was clean but we did not have hand soap- we had to substitute body wash. The elevators were down, so we had to use the service elevator - which required one to hold the call button down until the car arrived. Just seemed like a series of inconveniences.

The elevators didn’t even work. They charge $68 a day for parking at the hotel. The hotel room had no fridge, and microwave. Completely disappointed for this stay. Extremely overpriced parking and very limited amenities.

The Hotel is decent condition however the elevator situation needs to be fixed. For the price of the room, the extra fee for parking and the more than anywhere else deposit leaves plenty of money to fix the elevators. There are 4 but only one was ever working and there are way to many floors for that to work. Invest in fixing your elevators!

Carpets are disgustingly stained everywhere, seemed like there was zero attempt at any kind of cable management, there wasn't a plastic/rubber curtain liner in the shower there was literally only a cloth drape so when taking a shower the curtain was SOAKED and dripping all over the floor. The soaps/shampoos smell TERRIBLE and intensely strong, and I left a pair of shorts behind and called the front office 2 times, no one picked up and no one returned my call. AVOID this place at all costs.

The elevators didnt work. The one that did you could hear banging in our room. The was a live roach in the room. It crawled out from under a bag that was on the counter. The carpet in the room and hallways was filthy. They didnt bring up anything that we asked for when we called down to the desk. When the toilet flushed it groaned for 5 minutes afterward. Black mold in the shower. This hotel looks like they took an abandoned building. But a face on it and some paint and it became a popup hotel. I woukd nit recommend it to anyone, regardless of the pri e.

This was by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Filthy carpets in hall and in room. Torn blinds. Rust in shower. There was a large chunk of what looked to be human hair in front of my door. If I didn’t have a tired 3 yr old and only one night to stay I would have left. Disgusting. I want my mo yes back. Staff was fine after 30 min wait to check in. Staff leaving just glared and said “room number”. Never again. I want my money back. Expedia this was egregious. Do something about it. I have pictures to support my statements.

I booked this hotel based on the photos and description, but the actual condition was completely different. The carpet was heavily stained and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom floor had visible mold/algae, and the overall cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. I felt uncomfortable staying in such an unsanitary environment and decided to check out the same night. I contacted the booking platform for a refund, but my request was denied. About out an hour long wait at the front deak, my check in time was after 4pm and finally when my family get into the room. First thing I found hair on toilet seat, hair on tub, hair on pillow, some kinds of rubber ring on the floor, a peice of pop corn at corner of the room and later I found it out some issue with tub drainage with bunch hair. Also I set my checkout time to be 11am but a hotel staff knock the door once and open the enterance door themselves around 9 am when my family was still in the bed. So so disappointed. I will never go back this facility.

The front desk folk were phenomenal: cheerful, kind, and helpful. The room itself? It... could use some good deep cleaning/refreshing. The hallway carpets look like someone put too much bleach everywhere yet it was still dirty. There was also a gap in my door and I could hear every person walking by. Overall, good value, great customer service, moderately poor condition. I'd stay again, but only if I didn't have other options.

On first glance the room look minimalist elegant. On further inspection it was just minimal. No robe, no full length mirror, and the mattress was so light weight that it tilted whenever my husband sat or lie on one side. Otherwise it seemed clean, although the rug had stains, and it was easy to regulate the temperature and there was sufficient lighting. It was a comfortable enough stay.

The bed at the property in our room was not comfortable. I think the base of the bed had an issue where the baseboards weren't of the right size. So after room service the bed would just droop in the base from one side. It can be really troublesome for folks with back issues. The hotel needs to revamp their bed frames bases on which the mattress rests. The room had carpet with lots of stains all over, which looked really unappealing

They had one working elevator for 15+ floors. It took quite a while and once we finally got on it- it took another 5 minutes to get to the lobby. (It only allowed 5 ppl on at a time). The front desk staff wasn’t friendly and unapologetic. They have automatic lights that turn on in the room which was annoying in the middle of the night. Room was very noisy with city and hallway noise and we were on the 11th floor.

The lobby and bar area of this hotel was well equipped and nicely decorated. The people were friendly. That's about all the good things I can say about this hotel. The room was very sparsely appointed with a bed, a TV, a table, and two chairs that were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. The carpet needed to be replaced and there was only one light in the main room beyond the two small lights mounted on the headboard. That headboard was also the only usable source of electricity. For breakfast I had a ham & egg croissant and a soda. That will be $18 thank you. I was half way through the croissant bread before I hit any ham. No fruit or breakfast sandwiches available. Don't come to this hotel expecting all your travel needs to be provided. And watch out for the multitude of SF taxes and fees. That will add another $40 to $50 dollars per night to your invoice. I can not recommend this hotel.

There should be more information advertised about the safety of the area surrounding the hotel, and the "busy seasons" that dictate the functionality of the hotel and the listed amenities. The bar and restaurant were closed to all guests until the return of this "busy season," and the front desk was often left unattended. Upon arriving the elevators immediately had issues resulting in multiple guests being brought to the incorrect floor, or just not moved whatsover. This would be solvable if there were staircases accessable at any point of the hotel, but there were not. Beyond being a safety concern, there was little reassurance that the elevator would take you anywhere close to your floor. The rooms themselves are poorly constructed, and offer little to no privacy. We could hear guests every motion in adjacent rooms, and the patio access was shared with all floormates, so the sounds of late night conversation of both guests and staff could be heard throughout the night, as well as the smell of cigarette smoke and marijuana. Each door including the bathroom door, were sliding pocket doors that did not fully close, and all lights were motion sensor, meaning that even if you switched them "off" they would turn on with even the slightest movement in the middle of the night. Inexplicably, the rooms were furnished with Murphy beds, which caused the mattresses to bow in the center throughout the night, and provided little to no sleeping support. The front desk staff are very friendly and the building is secure. The room itself was clean, but very basic. The rooms have the appearance of just having moved into a new place and sleeping on a mattress on the floor because you haven’t set up the bed yet. It’s very loud—lots of college kids and long term rentals with party people.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The staff at the front desk is rude and they do not have any customer service. When I arrived they did not great me in a typical friendly hotel manner, instead they didn’t even look up and requested my if and card, and that is all they said the whole time I was waiting for my room number. They then put me in a room on the 4th floor that shares a balcony with everyone on that floor. It felt extremely unsafe and I asked to moved to a new room. My new room had hair in the shower and mascara stains on the towels. The rooms are as basic as can be and the beds are very uncomfortable. Do not stay here.

The staff who work here were all very friendly and helpful. The onsite security made me feel safe during my stay. If I had to complain about anything it would be the carpets need to be cleaned but that is me being extremely picky. I would definitely stay here again!

The check in staff was great but when I went to my room it was still getting cleaned. I waited because it was no big deal but the cleaning lady asked if it was my room then said it wasn’t ready yet and to go back down. I went back down and was told it was good. Once I went back to my room a gentleman with a dolly walked into my room and about 10 minutes later another women walked into my room. They both did not knock and luckily my wife or I were not showering or anything.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at BEI in San Francisco was so frustrating that I feel compelled to share. First, there was only one functioning elevator during the entire duration of my stay. The elevator buttons were unresponsive, wait times exceeded 10 minutes, and it consistently arrived overcrowded with 8–10 guests at a time. This was a major inconvenience and safety concern. This is the worst hotel that I’ve stayed at in my entire life. I’ve stayed at motels better than this. Right outside the entrance, you’ll be greeted by groups of junkies. When you’re not dodging used needles, you’ll have to narrowly avoid stepping in feces. While this is advertised as a 4-star hotel in the Financial District, it’s a run down motel on the cusp of the Tenderloin, one of SF’s most run-down and dangerous neighborhoods. As for the rooms? The carpet was absolutely atrocious - they didn’t even bother cleaning up the blood stains. I’ve lived in just about every major city, and I thought I’ve seen “bad” neighborhoods, but this area of SF is borderline apocalyptic.

Hotel was decent. Some carpets stained in the room but not a huge deal to me. I loved the secured parking garage. Hotel is located in tenderloin which is not a nice part of SF. you will come across lots of homeless people and people openly doing drugs. They usually don’t bother you though.

Perfect hotel if you are attending something at the Bill Graham Auditorium because you can walk there within minutes. It made it very convenient. Parking was easy and onsite. I felt safe leaving my car there. The reason why I didn’t rate this place higher is because our room didn’t have a dresser for us to unpack in. There was also a lot of stains on the carpet. It could be due to it being a light colored carpet, but it didn’t look very clean because of it. I also didn’t get a portion of my deposit back for no reason. We left the room clean, left before checkout, I paid for parking beforehand, so there is no reason it should have been withheld.

The hotel is situated very close to public transport, so it was easy to get around and travel to other parts of the city. There are lots of beautiful restaurants nearby, unfortunately, none were open on Sunday or Monday and most close at 9.00 pm - 9.30 pm The volume of homeless people in this part of town was shocking and quite overwhelming. During the day I never felt unsafe as there are so many people around and there is a noticeable police presence in the area. Most homeless people were just minding their own business and not interacting with anyone, just amongst themselves. It was devastating though to witness the sheer scale of the plight these people find themselves in, it has left a lasting impression.

Do not be fooled. This is not a 4 star hotel. I was highly disappointed with this hotel. The front desk staff were rude and barely said anything and were not helpful at all. The rooms were bare - literally the most sparse room I have ever stayed in. The hotel restaurant was not open even though they said it was so couldn't eat or drink there but the main complaint about this hotel is the location. It is in the middle of a very bad area of town, which you wouldn't know by reading about it on Expedia. Right outside the hotel and then for blocks in any direction it is very dangerous with the type of people there, there are no restaurants or stores in the vicinity because of its sketchy location so you have to travel far to get anywhere. You wouldn't really want to walk or at night. We did it once and never again as you don't feel safe. I would not recommend anyone stay here. All around horrible experience.
