The receptionist was lovely and helpful to put my sister across hall. ❤️ We received a coupon for complimentary glass of wine at registration. Hotel looks much better in person than online photos Appreciated the quiet, spacious room, well appointed with self controlled thermostat. Food is always excellent and small rooms in lobby relaxing to start day with free coffee am. ❤️

The place is beautiful and such a good place to be with those prices! I would stay there again. The only thing I wish I double check was about parking. There is a valet service but it wasn’t worth it for the asking price since the garage was around the corner.

There are some beautiful fireplaces to sit around and enjoy. The onsite restaurant was also quite good. They give you a couple of complementary glasses of house wine which was nice.

The staff was always friendly and welcoming every time I came and went. The room was nice and the bedding was very comfortable. Air-conditioning was also a nice feature and the gym had a full set of dumbbells and enough machines for a full body workout. The complimentary Path water bottle in the room was also a nice touch! Great place to stay!

My 1 and only complaint is the parking. If the hotel had their own parking lot and actually offered discounted or free parking, I would’ve been satisfied. I paid for my stay, then had to pay $50/day for parking. That is ridiculous to me! For example. Hotel Nikko offers free parking and its valet. We took a chance to give another hotel a try but probably will not stay here again based on the parking situation!

Very nice room. Quirky design which was rather usual but cool as well. All the staff were very friendly. It has a fireplace with a nook great for sitting and reading. In a nice part of town and just a 5 min walk from union square. Well worth staying there.

Our room was upgraded for free. Free Signature water bottles with unlimited refills. I wish that benefit would catch on with more Hotels and restaurants all over the world. Think how our landfills would benefit. I appreciated their environmental awareness. The Marker had an elegant lobby, delightful bar and a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. Streets were filled with many people, some homeless and dirty, some of us not.

Place was outdated, carpet was super dirty so beware bring house shoes. The shower had hair, and restroom had trash in the trash can upon arrival. The tv did not work nor did the outlet near the tv. The hallway light also did not work. We report the night we stood was told no one can help until next day. Place was not clear overall. Its surroundings beware BEWARE full of homeless, some with mental illness yelling. Just not safe at all

Nice hotel, affordable, well-situated and quiet. Unfortunately the hotel was very lax about reliable housekeeping service and I got tired of harassing them. Furthermore, they really could not have cared less they were not meeting their obligations in this area.

Very disappointing experience. We arrived late at night and had to change the room at midnight because the heater was broken and making a loud, non-stop rattling noise. The next day I asked for the room to be cleaned with fresh towels and toiletries. I had to ask 4 times and they still didn’t do it. The following day I complained and asked for the 5th time to clean the room, we even ran out of toilet paper as there was only one roll in the bathroom. We included breakfast in our stay and had 1 option, eggs with a side of meat and toast. Every morning, I had to ask for coffee because the container was empty. The customer service was non-existent, horrible.

The overall experience with service and amenities at the Marker were great. It became very clear that the room I was given was not updated. The chipping vinyl on the headboard flaked all over the room and all over my hair and clothes. The furniture was clearly worn and stained. I also had the issue of having someone come clean my room, even with the Do Not Disturb sign placed on the door. Overall, it felt like growing pains as they remodle, but it did not leave me wanting to stay at the Marker again.

Wonderful experience. I was in town for work and enjoyed my time at The Marker. The staff are especially fantastic — friendly, accommodating and genuinely kind. The room was clean, comfortable and stylish. I will absolutely return and have already encouraged my colleagues to go.

It is clear that the owners have taken important steps to create a wonderful experience. Excellent customer service from the front office staff and valet parking. The rooms are quite small and modest, but clean. However, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses have springs that are not conducive to good sleep, and noisy. They should be replaced. It’s obvious they're old. At one point I chose to sleep on the floor because it was so uncomfortable. Bedding could be improved as well as bathroom toiletries (e.g, toilet paper is paper thin; shampoo, hair conditioner, and body soap, the odor is too strong and drying, we could smell hotel guests from a distance, and we chose not to use it, but went and bought our own). The housekeeping staff are amazing and professional, and it is evident that they place great attention to detail in the upkeep and cleanliness of the rooms, hallways and amenities.

Great stay, central to everything in town. Took the BART there. Speakeasies and live music all around. Did not have any noise issues. Not a fan of the room decor but that wasn’t a big deal. Would stay again!

Great hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms. Modern and updated. Great restaurant in the hotel as well with very good food and free morning coffee. Wifi was fast and kept up with evening work demands. My only negative was that the hot water in the shower could have been better. Little closer to luke warm than hot. That's the only note keeping this from a perfect rating.

Enjoyed the cleanliness and that the doors are kept locked unless let in by staff. The front desk does not keep staff there 24/7 so you have to be patient on when you need something. Also TVs have Limited channels and are not smart TVs which was frustrating

Pleasant stay I had with this hotel. Hotel staff were very nice upon check in and out. Our hotel room had a view of the hotel back alley way and there were homeless people that were in plain sight as we looked out our window.Had one night we were woken up by these people and they were out there being pretty loud. When I looked out the window these individuals were consuming drugs and playing loud music. We could not sleep the first night. The rest of our stay was pretty quiet. We stayed 3 nights.

It is a nice, unique, boutique, old school hotel. The hotel on-site is quite pricey for what it is ($25 for an egg scramble) but at least they offer free coffee from 7-10am. The rooms were nice but older. I booked an urban suite and it really was not a suite, and hardly bigger. It just had a long hallway upon entering it. I'd stay again if its a really good price, because it's a good location.

My very first day, the maid stole from me, opened/ate my food, rooted through my suitcase, rooted through my makeup, dumped my baseball jerseys on the floor. I felt so utterly violated. When I immediately called the manager they came to my room to look at things and take notes. They said they would comp my entire 5 night stay. This was a lie. They did not comp any of my nights stay. They did absolutely nothing to make this right other than feeding me a line. Because of this, I had my do not disturb on the door the rest of my stay and I had to ask for clean towels. I was really under the impression they cared and would actually follow through and do something like they said by refunding me my stay but they did nothing. The manager didn’t even follow up with me throughout my stay. Needless to say, I’d never stay there again. Very disappointed.

The Marker Union Square hotel in San Francisco was wonderful to stay with. Greeted by the most friendly staff you could ask for. I really enjoyed the dinning option at the hotel it is a sit down restaurant but the food was delicious.

Stayed at this property for a concert. Lots of food and things to do nearby. Room was nice, front desk was nice but valet was terrible. We waited an hour for our car and when our car finally arrived no one told us. So we were sitting in the lobby waiting until I went outside to look and saw our car sitting there.

It was our first time in San Francisco. A lady at the reception area, Blanca, could not do enough for us. She went out of her way to get and provide information for us throughout the trip. We had an early flight on our departure date and were concerned with traffic due to the San Francisco marathon being held that morning. When we returned from our adventures of the day, she had a map printed out to avoid traffic delays getting to the airport on marathon morning.

My 'VIP' hotel stay was a letdown, starting with check-in. Promised an upgrade, I received my already-booked king bed room. A complimentary bottle of wine was the only plus. Room issues included no microwaves and unconnected bedside outlets. A serious breach of security happened when a staff member gave my visitor unauthorized access to my room, a shocking first in my travels. Checkout was a fiasco. Cleaning staff disturbed us before checkout time, and lost and found service was inefficient and rude, failing to help with a misplaced item. Hidden fees, revealed only at checkout on Expedia, inflated the final bill. This lack of transparency and poor service did not justify the high cost. I wonder if booking through America Express Platinum would have altered my experience...

Its a beautiful hotel the only bad thing that really disappointed me was we got to our hotel and some lady checked us in and gave us our key card so we went to our room and later that night at 1 in the morning we hear people trying to open up or doors and i was soo scared and opened it up after a big because the person was still trying to open it and we came to realize the hotel people gave some other couple the same room as us and the hotel called us at 1 in the morning yo tell is to come down no apologies no nothing so rude to apologize that the lady who checked us in didn’t actually check us in just gave us a card that was activated so disappointed and scary that they would just give a random person a key card to our room with all our belongings inside and npt even to apologize to eaking us up or anything very disappointed

Steven is a gem. His care, excitement and kindness made us feel welcome and at the right hotel. Central location near BART and Pier 39. The proximity to Tenderloin is ok, if you exit and head toward Union square which is very near the hotel.

Lovely hotel, clean, great staff, comfortable beds, nicely decorated room, and quiet. This hotel is a couple of blocks from Union Square, so very walkable to shopping. I never felt unsafe, but it is right on the edge of a sketchy area, so there are a few street people. But not enough to change my opinion of this very nice hotel.

The staff was excellent. Friendly and accommodating and helpful. The area around the hotel seems unsafe. My daughter, who lives in the city saw a man with his pants down injecting himself with something in an alcove on the corner of the street. There are unhoused people in the alley beside the hotel and one was seemingly in the middle of a psychotic episode… so an evening walk is ill advised. If you have small children, a pet, of just like to walk…this may not be the best choice. The hotel was great the neighborhood, not so much.

Everyone was super friendly! Affordable and sweet. The parking was right around the corner (bring cash) and the rooms were very cute and the lobby's fireplace and cozy couches were amazing. Last but not least, the restaurant on site was to die for!! Best dinner and drinks and the ambiance and service was great too! Thanks!!

Ate at the restaurant and both my friend and I got sick.has to take it easy the next day. Both of us ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. They changed the coupon so you can’t get beer, and the service just gets worse there. Doesn’t open till 7 to get a cup of coffee. This is the 3rd time I stayed at The Marker in the last 6 months and it will be the last time. I ended up paying $600 for 2 nights by the time you pay all the fees and valet parking. I love the lobbies and the rooms decor.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve probably ever stayed at as far as service was concerned the rooms were OK but comfortable enough the bathtub and the upgraded room was amazing. The front desk was unbelievable the women there were so helpful. The bartenders were on point and breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend this location!
