Hotel Fiona

Place is very old, with no fridge or microwave in the room. Our window was 1/2” open, wasn’t able to close it. Additional charge for “amenities”. Breakfast cannot be called breakfast because there is absolutely nothing to eat. Pool in different building. Parking available, but even though you pay for it, it’s not guaranteed. Overall, first and last time.

Stayed here for the Katie Perry concert and coming home to a quiet room/hall was appreciated. Quiet throughout the night. Great water pressure for the shower. They missed a couple spots around the beds with sweeping but overall clean and neat. Room was super cold when we arrived so it’s good for the hot bodies and when we changed it to warm up the room it kept us cozy. Beds were good and the breakfast was small bites and mighty. That coffee will keep you up with how strong it is. The parking is secured with a closed gate and is first come first served so be sure to get there in check in time during the weekend to get a spot. We will stay here again!

The room and staff were good. Breakfast was not generous, just a few pastries if you get lucky. You have to pay extra for parking. The parking garage is very tight for anything larger than a compact car. I wouldn't park on the street in the neighborhood.

Overall nice property, we stayed with family. Staff is amazing, covered parking, breakfast. They should make amenity charges optional or include it in the price to make it fair.

Very nice remodel and the rooms are very elegant. Convenient gated garage also.

The property was pretty simple which is what we needed, but the room was super cute. Very misleading on the amenities as the hot tub looked abandoned for like 10 years and the “rooftop pool” they say they have is in fact at another hotel across the street and I’m guessing was the same for the workout room.

Great stay @ this cute hotel close to many vibrant SF neighborhoods.. downtown, civic center, SoMa, hayes valley. Close to public transit & walkable. Being near the Federal building & 6th st, there are some interesting characters to be found hanging around, but nothing to be too worried about. Enjoyed a quick morning swim in the heated pool, which was awesome. Many thanks to the incredibly friendly staff!

Affordable and a dressed up version of a motel. Did not like that the breakfast and pool which should have been included in the booking price was really a $20 amenity fee collected separately at the hotel. Also, very close to where the homeless have been relocated. Just a heads up. Hotel had security but walking to and from was interesting.

The property is great, the pool across the street is really nice. But the surrounding area is not the best. Definitely not the best area in SF but overall really good experience.

Filthy. Staff Does Not care. My room was not cleaned prior to checkin. Stains on sheets, bandaids and used cottonballs on thr floor, greasy hand prints all over windows and furniture, sticky floor. Let front desk know, left for hours sp they could clean, came back still not clean and lied and said the do not disturb was on the door and they couldnt come in... yet some how did come in to remake with the same filthy sheets i pulled off yhe bed. This is a one star motel, filthy, and not as advertised. For the close to $400 non refundable a night i was chsrged, i should expect at minimum a sanitary space. Hotel also refused to refund me so i could find a different jotel, even after they twice failed and acknowledged they failed to provide a clean room

Extremely clean. Very easy stay. Compact hotel. Super friendly staff. The room looked just like in the photos. Parking could be a challenge if you're there on a busy day because the lot is on the smaller side. Arrive early. The neighborhood can be noisy. I noticed an issue with the room as I was checking out - staff promised to have it looked into. Highly recommended.

Super clean! Great decor and comfy bed. Really amazing staff. I wish there was a mini fridge and that the parking wasn’t so expensive but whatevs. Will definitely be back.

Rooms were adequate. Air conditioner didn’t work. Noise from the adjacent alley was loud/annoying since we had to keep the windows open because of the non functioning air conditioner. Parking is horrible. Ended up having to pay an extra fee because we have a truck. They consider that an oversized vehicle. Keep in mind the extra fee does not give you a bigger parking spot. Overall a 2star hotel

The air conditioning did not work in our room. We called the front desk to request a different room. The receptionist said that he had “just found out that all of the central air conditioning was not working.” He offered us a fan. However, the hallways had air conditioning, and there was already a fan in our room. So this was an issue in our room and the management knew about it. The fan did not cool the room and we ended up opening the windows. The hotel faces a very busy street so it was a choice between trying to sleep in a hot room or trying to sleep with noise. We eventually chose the sleeping with noise once it got past midnight This is really a pity as the room was very nice, well decorated and spacious. If not for the issue with the air conditioning, which also suggested that the management was not transparent, we would’ve given it five stars.

The hotel was ok although the walls are paper thin and at the time of our stay the guests around us were noisy and easily heard. The major issue for us with this hotel is its location. The first night we were there we were greeted with homeless people and drug users roaming around the streets of the hotel. The area smelt of urine and human faeces was evident on the pavements when walking to the tram stops to get to the Bay Area. Although the hotel was ok for what we paid. I would not recommend it to family or friends.

The rooms are very spacious and you are a shrot walk to a major station. The sound isolation isnt the best so you will hear others through the door. If that doens bother you then it is a good place to stay

The hotel itself was old. Tv turned on by itself as well as volume changed. It’s was 90 degrees in the room and took all night to cool down. Fans were very loud. Not the greatest area, parking was gated though. The elevator felt like it was going to break, the door was extremely loud when shut. The room was clean. It was an interesting stay.

The room was clean and very cute. No mini fridge but it had the other basic amenities. The breakfast is just a few pastries, not a full breakfast. The hallways did have an old hotel smell to them and i couldnt smell it but my mom and brother said the room smelled funky too...personally i liked the room but the street next to the hotel did seem a bit sketchy and we could hear the traffic from the street too when we were trying to sleep.

Despite the very long wait to check in, the staff were extremely helpful and understanding and they were able to help me get a room when I was in a huge time crunch. The rooms had the most comfortable beds that I’ve been on and there was a good amount of space in the room for two people.

The staff was wonderful. My cellphone fell through the elevator from the 3rd floor down to the very bottom. They were able to find it the next day. They didn’t have to do that because I’m pretty sure it was not easy getting underneath the elevator. But they did it.

The staff was awesome, very friendly and helpful. The male desk attendant helped us with all our questions, let us check in early and put us in the same room for our two separate reservations.

My stay at Hotel Fiona was great. At the time of my stay they were offering free parking, which seems like a rarity in the city, so it was incredibly convenient -- especially knowing that it was an enclosed garage with a security guard. At check-in the lady helping me could not have been friendlier. My room was also cleaned without requesting, another thing that's pretty rare these days, so I was very happy with the service. Room was really spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. I don't believe it had a mini-fridge, which I normally prefer, but that was fine. WiFi and TV both worked well. If there's any complaint, my room faced the street, so if you're a light sleeper (I'm not) then you may have trouble with the outside noise. When you walk out the front door and go to the right towards Howard St and Folsom St, you're in what appeared to be a nice and safe neighborhood. If you go to the left towards Mission and Market streets, you're more likely to see more of the homeless population of the city. However, the neighboring hotels have security guards too, plus there are some good hotels around the corner on Mission St. Also, there is a streetcar stop at Market & 7th that easily takes you all the way down to the Ferry Building and even Fisherman's Wharf on the Embarcadero -- so that makes getting around without a car pretty easy. Based on the rate I paid, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Amazing and very nice staff

This hotel has a had a nice face lift from its former version, but service is still uneven. Housekeeping did not make up my room and seemed to have trouble having rooms ready by the 4pm check in time. Also, the convenience fee is bogus.

The hotel has been renovated and inside is very nicely done. However, the neighborhood is unsafe with homeless and druggies all around. This area of SF called SOMA is a disaster.

This was just the one night day to be near the Amtrak bus station since I had an early morning departure for cross country train trip. Hotel was in the perfect location, the right price and easy to get around by trolley

The location was super central, and maybe this is less Hotel Fiona and more SF in general but the amount of homeless and interesting characters roaming around was a little scary. We love taking walks and unfortunately after the air boxer and man carrying a knife a public steps away from the hotel we just stopped. The hotel itself was neat and well kept, it’s old and you can smell that a bit but the decor was charming. The front desk staff were always cheery and very bright. The breakfast included had us excited and it was a light pastry breakfast (which was yummy) but the coffee was quite bad

Staff was really amazing! The hotel was comfy and clean. The only downside is it’s in the very edge of a dangerous part of San Francisco.

Some streets nearby 7th street were safe, but avoid the alleys which felt unsafe. Also avoid Mission St. and use Market St. instead for the same reason.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Lots of homeless people in the area. If I was a single woman, I probably wouldn’t go out at night by myself

I enjoyed my stay, such a nostalgic hotel with great customer service. The hotel was 2 blocks from the train station and you can walk to Union Square. I will definitely stay here again:-)

The rooms in this hotel are super cute! I loved the decor and cozy feeling it gave. They have parking onsite, which was extra. The neighborhood is kind of shady but we felt safe and knew our vehicle was too. Delicious fresh pastries from the local bakery are delivered each morning for breakfast. What a treat! We had a great experience here!!

Pretty typical downtown hotel. It’s not as nice as pictured. The service was excellent. Breakfast was just pastries.

When I booked the hotel, I noticed that the good rating was "excellent". When I got to the hotel, I didn't understand why it was so good. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. The hotel includes breakfast, but it's hard to call it breakfast. Some kind of small box or cabinet with croissants, omelettes and tartlets. Everything was delicious, but such a strange presentation. There were bananas and apples. But you have to take your breakfast and go to the room. Because it's all on a small table at the reception, there are no tables or places to eat. I thought it was quite strange. Parking is paid. The staff is friendly. There were a lot of homeless people in the alleys around the hotel, not a very safe area. The swimming pool is in the building across the street, it's not very convenient to walk in a wet swimsuit back to the hotel crossing the street, where there is intense traffic of cars and people.

We enjoyed our stay at this clean hotel with character. I think it should be clear that the “breakfast” is pastries, albeit delicious, but not ideal with children.

Mostly everything was good. It was conveniently located. We parked our car ( I believe it is 30 dollar per night) and took the bus the explore San Francisco which was great. The hotel is pretty decent. We booked the one with city view, “the view”, being the homeless in the alley. That is pretty much anywhere in San Francisco. The area did not feel unsafe. The only thing I would say that when we booked it says it offers “continental breakfast” which is very misleading as it is just coffee, pastries and a egg bites. I usually book the hotels that offera breakfast as it is one less thing to worry about in the morning specially with kids. So if you are booking based on breakfast then I would not recommend it, but other than that everything was good.

Nice place. Fireplace don’t seem to work. Couldn’t figure it out. Breakfast offered was very disappointing.

Everything was pretty neat and clean had a good stay! The continental breakfast was bad tho. Nothing but pastries and coffee no table to sit at. It was literally in the lobby of the hotel.
