first time I've stayed in a hostel - I normally use hotels but, travelling solo this time, I decided to try it as the rate was very good. I selected a double room with ensuite - when I arrived, due to refurbishment, I had been moved to a family room which slept 5. There was a double bed which was very comfy. The room was sparse but very clean, with a good tv. The staff are extremely helpful and the bar/restaurant area is worth a visit in its own right - great vibe. Would definitely stay again - it's great value. My only negative was the extra charge for towels.

Stayed here a few times. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, great location. Had an issue with the TV not working on our last stay, apparently this is an issue across the hotel so would not recommend if a TV is a must for you. I was staying with my young daughter and the gent on duty (didn't get his name unfortunately but he was fantastic!) got us sorted in the end. It's a typical hostel. Doesn't have kitchen facilities but does food (small menu but very tasty) and there's plenty of bars and restaurants in the city centre, just a short walk away. The bar area is great, and good beers on tap.

The staff were excellent throughout my stay. Polite, friendly and accessible. The bar is pretty big, and inexpensive. I liked the room. It was clean, secure and comfortable. TV has various channels and you can log into your own account with several apps. Pretty quiet, building works nearby (obviously out with the control of the hotel. Two minutes walk from everything you need to access, so you avoid the noise of both day and night time economy. Not expensive, and better than I expected, to be honest. I didn't have breakfast, so can't rate that. I also stayed alone in a family room. Would stay there again.

It's very basic, but the price matches that. The staff are friendly and if you arrive before 10pm you can check in at the bar and get a pint while you're there. Obviously it's down to chance what kind of roommates you get, but I was lucky enough to get friendly ones.

Generally ok, clean and everything, but they actually charge you for storing luggage. It is also not ideally situated. But it was clean, everything worked out well and they had happy hour on in the bar.

Bathroom had mold and door didnt shut 2 staff entered the room disturbed me sleeping separate times extra charge for the room which wasnt explained a nice looking room but bad mattress and pillows (very very hard) good if u desperately need somewhere to stay although theres cheaper and better.

Last minute overnight trip with my daughter (8yrs). We enjoyed the room, bed was comfortable. All staff we spoke too were lovely. I found the hallways had a weird smell.. i couldnt decribe it. There was a lot of noise until 1.30am ish. It kept my daughter awake far longer than I would have liked. Tv was great. Could sign into Netflix etc. I did use "Sue's" Netflix account as that was logged in when i arrived. Id make sure everyone logs out before leaving :0)

Never stayed in a hostel but chosen due to location and previous good reviews. Stayed with my older children in the rooms with en-suite. The room was clean, en-suite was small but perfectly fine. Bed was comfy. Could not fault it. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Bar was loud but that's fine, it was a younger crowd. However staff left us take our drinks to quieter room away from the bar especially as someone in my group is autistic and would not be able to cope with the noise. So we were still able to enjoy happy hour. A great experience and would book again

I just needed a safe place near the train station to crash on a Saturday night after arriving in the country. When I checked in I was a little worried about the party hostel vibes in the lobby where the music was really loud, but once I got up to my room it was incredibly quiet and cozy!

It was a pretty good place to stay without breaking the bank in Newcastle. It's pretty close to the coach stop, so accessibility is relatively easy. As for the room, I have noticed a few minor dents and missing bolts in the bunk bed frame, but overall, I recommend this place for anyone who wants to travel here.

The hotel was near to the rvi hospital, when people look to book here put in large print you need photo identification, not in the small print.

We stayed overnight after a concert at the arena.Althogh we normally stay closer to central station, this hotel was a reasonable distance to walk. We stayed in a room with private ensuite & it was very clean roomy and airy. Although there was no Aircon and had to sleep with the window open, we had a good night's sleep. We stayed in a room with private ensuite & it was very clean roomy and airy. Although there was no Aircon and had to sleep with the window open, we had a good night's sleep. Hi myself and daughter stayed here from 8th till 10th aug for the Sela weekend the beds was lovely and comfortable with 2 pillows.slept like a log.the staff couldn’t do enough for you.the breakfast was lovely especially the bacon.would definitely stay here again.the hotel was very clean.

Stayed here a few times. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, great location. Had an issue with the TV not working on our last stay, apparently this is an issue across the hotel so would not recommend if a TV is a must for you. I was staying with my young daughter and the gent on duty (didn't get his name unfortunately but he was fantastic!) got us sorted in the end. It's a typical hostel. Doesn't have kitchen facilities but does food (small menu but very tasty) and there's plenty of bars and restaurants in the city centre, just a short walk away. The bar area is great, and good beers on tap.

Pretty happy overall with the hostel. Great value, comfy bed and all the essentials - toiletries, charging ports etc. the room wasn’t super clean and there was no extractor fan in the bathroom which made the room quite smelly and damp! Quite disappointed in breakfast - £6.50 for a takeaway breakfast with barista coffee. I was happy with the vegan options but the apple was wrinkly and old, and the ‘barista’ coffee advertised was actually just the free instant coffee available to everyone. Would’ve rather gone elsewhere for breakfast. Overall a good stay, well located, cheap and cheerful

The staff were excellent throughout my stay. Polite, friendly and accessible. The bar is pretty big, and inexpensive. I liked the room. It was clean, secure and comfortable. TV has various channels and you can log into your own account with several apps. Pretty quiet, building works nearby (obviously out with the control of the hotel. Two minutes walk from everything you need to access, so you avoid the noise of both day and night time economy. Not expensive, and better than I expected, to be honest. I didn't have breakfast, so can't rate that. I also stayed alone in a family room. Would stay there again.

Great customer service. Affordable. Breakfast was good. Had issue with heating in my room which heated a small area on a random cold April night and was either too hot or too cold. Bathroom was like a portaloo and not overly clean. But overall - pleased with my stay.

The room is very small and has no kettle or anything. The shower is in a level so be careful as we both hurt our ankles and dips by the toilet to the shower. However the staff are very friendly
