Love the Palace. The history of the hotel is fascinating and the holiday decor is beautiful! Unfortunately only 1 out of 3 elevator were working. Otherwise - a perfect stay!

The hotel itself is gorgeous. Room was smaller than expected and a little outdated. The receptionist that assisted us was nice. Things I didnt like during my stay: (1) VALET PARKING - Crowded & not organized as expected (2) SPA’s not working (3) Water pool was cold

I expected a much higher standard from the Palace Hotel, especially after paying $100 per day for valet parking. Unfortunately, my experience with their valet service was extremely frustrating. They left the keys inside my car, which resulted in the keys being disabled and car undrivable. What made matters worse was that I had an injured leg, and instead of the valet staff handling the issue professionally, I was forced to walk to the car twice to resolve the situation myself. This not only caused me pain but also disrupted my schedule. For a hotel of this caliber, this level of service is unacceptable.

Only one elevator was working meaning very long wait times. Unacceptable. Bathroom ventilation was non existent, steamed up with water dripping from roof and rust on metal. I suspect mold due to moisture and getting very stuffed up in room. Nice hotel but obviously older rooms and mechanics.

We had a wonderful time at the Palace Hotel for our spring break trip. I went for 4 nights with my tween daughter. The hotel is beautiful with a gorgeous atrium ceiling in the main dining area which is great for the buffet breakfast. There is a very nice restaurant/bar on site as well. The only issues we had during our stay was getting & keepning a tea pot to boil water for tea in our room and the jacuzzi was not properly cleaned, very foamy, and we got itchy after using. The front desk said she didn't know the cleaning schedule. In any case, the hotel is in a great location, walkable, the beds are comfy as well as the pillows, and the bathroom is nice and has modern toto cleaning toilets. I would recommend staying here!

We were charged again at the front desk although our rooms were prepaid through Hotel.com. I have been asking for a week now to reverse the charge and it still isn’t done. Hot tub broken AGAIN, I was told it was tested and it was too hot. Ridiculous! Our room was not perfectly clean. Noticed hairs on the sheets, bathroom had rust, water stains on desk, etc.

Grand property, particulary the lobby. The rooms are small with older bathrooms, and you can very much hear whats happening in the hallways from the room. Be mindful of the area at night, and if taking long walks be very mindful of where your route back to the hotel is going through.

PROS: Beautiful room and building overall. Very clean. Very luxe. comfy bed and pillows. lovely marble-appointed bathroom. Great rainfall shower. Excellent location for downtown. CON: The only con was the quite audible sound coming into the room from the hallways. Might have something to do with the thin hall carpeting and 1.5" gap under the door.

Hotel was good. Speaking about the staff - it depends who you meet. We‘ve met the most lovely people there and some where we had the feeling that we‘re disturbing. That‘s what gives you a negative feeling. Other than that - all good.

We frequent SF monthly and always wanted to stay here. Difficult finding the valet. Valet team had poor hospitality. I was lifting all bags etc. check in was smooth, but I followed up about a crib for the room that was requested in advance. Was told it was in the room. When we got to the room it was not there. Our bags were delivered fast. That was nice. We waited over an hour for the crib. Challenging when you have a baby, especially when it was requested well in advance. Room was tiny/old/dirty. Bathtub was dirty. No coffee machine in room that was strange. The hotel is small. I needed an extra blanket. I was told by the gentleman who finally delivered the crib they don't have any. Ummm. Ok? Holiday decor was ok. We usually stay at the fairmont and the Palace just doesn't compare. Won't return. Ordered nearly $100 in room service to eat cold scallops. Such a bummer: We have reservations for the holiday tea, hoping it lives up to the hype. For the most part, the disappointment I feel is frustrating as I always wanted to stay here, but it doesn't compare to other hotels in the area that make you feel special you return. Won't be back.

Best staff ever, everyone was so kind and helpful. It’s an incredibly fair price for the outstanding service you get, not to mention the bits of history you get to experience and enjoy. The hotel itself is absolutely mesmerizing, it was truly an unforgettable stay and I will be coming back.

We had a fantastic spring break. Kids spent a lot of time in the pool. Lidia, the pool and gym attendant, was so kind and friendly. She checked on us daily and brought large towels, water and pool toys for everyone to enjoy. You could tell she really enjoyed interacting with guests and went out of her way to make sure everyone was taken care of at the pool. All of the other staff were friendly and helpful as well. This kind of service is hard to find in the U.S., even at the nicest properties. Service here definitely gets a 10/10.

The hotel was hosting a convention that weekend. They appeared understaffed and the otherwise exceptional hospitality I know the hotel for was sorely missed. Won’t be booking with them again under such circumstances if it can be helped.

Beautiful hotel, easy to get to from airport - BART to Montgomery. V. convenient location and would stay again. Wish there were more great family restaurants nearby. It's between waterfront, union square near the CBD. So on weekdays, it's busier but still not unsafe at all. Better than expected

Staff was not helpful at breakfast; turned us away as we arrived 7 mins behind... and there were no other good breakfast or lunch options. They said they would ask a manager if we could be seated but it doesn't look like they checked. Not friendly or helpful for a 4 star hotel. Expectations were certainly higher. A lady was shaking her head before she even went to "check" with the manager.

The breakfast experience (pricey brunch in dining room) was a disappointment. The food was as expected but the attention from waitstaff was poor. I had to get my own coffee. We had to repeatedly hail a waitperson. They were not efficient by checking on each table as they passed. It seemed that they tried to avoid eye contact.

Wonderful stay! Really gorgeous building, comfortable and clean rooms, and good dining options at the pied piper hotel restaurant. Pool area was lovely as well, we really enjoyed our stay! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at :)
