We stay here every time we visit the city. Good location within walking distance of everything. The street smell however gets tracked into the hotel. I suggest parking at the public parking lot the next block up. Parking is now $85.50 a night which was a shock considering it said $75 when we checked in but not what I was billed for. Also, it was only $65 when we stayed before.

Breakfast and service was excellent. Room was horrible for the high price and the upgrade was ok but the bathroom flooded after we took a shower. Check in was bad never got the welcome beverage. Also even though I paid for breakfast for 2 rooms and 4 people they wanted to charge it again. All and all it was horrible

Overall the property was great. However, the plumbing in our room backed up through the shower and tub drains as soon as we tried to use them and there was standing sewage in the tub. They did get us into a similar room on a slightly higher floor in a timely manner, but that was the only effort made to remedy the situation. Definitely would’ve thought some other upgrade or perk would’ve been offered for the severity and grossness of the situation.

The lobby is absolutely stunning. The rooms feel a little dated but ours was clean and comfortable. The shower glass isn’t tall enough so we sprayed water on the floor. Beware- they put a fluffy stuffed dog called Buster on the bed, so the room is actually $35 higher than advertised. Evil genius who came up with that idea. My kid sleeps with it every night now…

Great hotel with nice staff and clean throughout. Only downside was the bed. I opted for the upgraded King room but the bed was pretty terrible. The mattress was very uneven and lumpy and almost completely collapsed on one side, definitely past its usable lifespan.

The Hotel Nikko exceeded my expectations on my recent business trip. From the moment I arrived, the hotel was serene and welcoming. The scenting experience in the lower lobby and the warm greeting from the front desk staff immediately set a positive tone. My spacious room offered a spectacular panoramic view and featured luxurious bedding, plush robes and slippers, and a beautiful marble shower. The Imperial Club floor experience was a wonderful highlight, providing an elevated level of comfort and convenience. Lovely room and EXCEPTIONAL staff. Special thank you to Ju (sorry if I am spelling your name wrong)-he truly went the extra mile to help me pack my car with multiple bags (I stayed for a few weeks at the Nikko). He was so kind and truly went above and beyond. But really ALL the staff is fantastic. The housekeeping is impeccable. I am a picky guest and I really have no complaints.

We have stayed at the Nikko before and generally have an excellent experience. In this case due to circumstances beyond the hotel's fault-- the pool had to be closed as some children had soiled the water. However -- when notified the hotel had a chance to jump on things and failed to do so, including refunding my fee for early check-in. I had to remind them twice - they still charged me and I finally had to return with my receipt to get things corrected. To me the mark of a really good hotel is how they handle the unexpected and do so graciously. Not great in this case.

The staff is amazing. The location is walking distance to Market St if you need the bus or the BART. The surrounding neighborhood isn’t any better or worse than other areas. Just be mindful late at night. The pool was clean and well stocked with towels. It’s the only place I will stay in SFO hands down.

Hotel was nice, clean. People at registration were nice, however concierge didn’t answer our questions and kept going off on a tangent. We asked a specific question and she kept talking, not listening. Very frustrating so we just figured it out on our own. First towel change was awful, there was a dirty towel with a big brown stain and my husband almost stepped in a needle which he found on the bathroom floor! Problem was solved by taking off $45 off one room (we had two) and a late check out on one room (we had two rooms) There didn’t seem to be communication between front desk and manager, as this wasn’t set up or notified that only one room had these accommodations. Buffet could also use some work. Our kind size bed room with a view had a view…of the top of the buildings below us, and not a view of the city. Overall I’d say it was ok, but not what I expected from a luxury hotel.

The hotel itself is nice and the people working here provide great service, but the area around it has deteriorated and doesn’t feel safe. The hotel lobby is one floor up from the entrance. During the daytime, there is a security guard outside and there are escalators which you can take up to the reception area. At night, there’s no guard and you have to let yourself into the hotel with your hotel key. The escalators are also blocked off at night, so your only option is to get into the elevators and use your hotel key to go upstairs. One night my husband and I were followed into the hotel and all the way up to our floor by an intoxicated individual from the street who proceeded to wander around and not enter a room - pretty sure his intent was to rob us. I would never stay here alone as a woman and probably wouldn’t stay here again, period, unless the area were to improve.

Our family had a fantastic experience at Hotel Nikko! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and seamless. The amenities really made our stay special—daily breakfast, happy hour with snacks and drinks, and a great pool setup that included a fun movie night for the kids. The hotel was clean, stylish, and well-run, and every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Truly stellar service throughout. Our only suggestion would be to consider opening the restaurant for lunch service. We were hoping to eat there both the day we arrived and the day we left, but it was closed during that window. Overall, though, a wonderful stay—we would absolutely return and highly recommend Hotel Nikko to anyone visiting San Francisco!

Pro: room on the Imperial floor was large Cons: 1. misleading advertising - we paid a nightly extra charge for a "Japanese breakfast" .... there was no Japanese breakfast - I think we should be refunded for this! 2. we paid an extra charge for 3 people in the room, but we only got 2 bathrobes, etc...where was the service? 3 . like others have noted, there is the per day amenity charge that we had to pay....this was not in the per night quote from Hotels.com .... why? We definitely will not be staying here in the future.

This was our first time staying here, and we had a wonderful experience. Anlia at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming, which made our check-in smooth and easy. The property itself is well-maintained with excellent amenities that are all very clean. We also discovered Anzu Restaurant, which quickly became our favorite dining spot in San Francisco. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!”
