From the moment you arrive the Ritz, San Francisco is absolutely on point. The Front Desk Associates go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The rooms are classic, impeccably clean and have windows that crank open to get fresh air. The acoustics are great and noise was at a minimum. The small wine room off the main lobby is a fantastic alternative to the bar, and the in room dining is five star service. Thank you to all employees at tbe Ritz for a wonderful stay- I appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment to making each stay a luxurious event.

Good experience. Rooms have two queens which is a blessing for families with two kids. Basics are nicely taken care off. They charge for WiFi if you don’t book via Bonvoy. Valet parking overnight is expensive so just park yourself in the garage nearby. Best to just Uber it everywhere.

Our stay was simply fantastic ! Wonderful and professional staff. It’s a beautiful property. From time you arrive you feel pampered. I went with 3 girlfriends and our room with 2 queen beds was perfect. Good size & comfortable. We used the gym that has everything you need . Lounge- great cocktails and ruffle fries ! I wish there was live music, but hopefully next time . Spa is also not open, but there are some other options close by. We had breakfast and it was great. Absolutely nothing to complain about. We will be back for sure . How can you stay anywhere else !

The property looks great, the room looks great, the staff was friendly and professional but that is expected at 5 Star hotel. The chocolates on the room was a nice touch, I wasn't expecting that. However there were 2 issues that I expect at a 5 star hotel. 1) The front desk doesn't have credit card tapb technology, many people don't carry physical card anymore, they are loaded on their phones to be used with tap. 2) They need to work on the response time on messaging in the app and texting. I waited 10 minutes for a response and then had to use the in room phone. Messaging and text should be as fast as a phone call. Automated generic messages like we're looking into it, doesn't cut it. I'm 54 years old just mentioning so you know this isn't some young person and wanting technology to work, this is your average modern customer.

Amazing stay. Staff went above and beyond trying to accommodate every request. The only two areas for improvement is a proper dinner option in-house and the spa. The rest of the hotel is just perfect for either business or leisure stay. Highly recommended!

I made a reservation in advance for three people, but the slippers and other items were not set up for three people. The cleaning conditions seemed to vary depending on the cleaner, and the back of the TV seemed to be cleaning only the places that were seen because there was a lot of dust. It would be nice to add cleaning-related information to the manual. Other than that, it was good that the request was reflected immediately, and I was happy that the doorman at the entrance welcomed me The front desk wasn't as welcoming as I thought. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful. The only negatives were flat pillows and our suite only had one window. Trying to aleviate our overheating we used the thermostat and it didn’t help much. The only other drawback was the limited menu options.

The room that I selected (Corner room with city view) was given to someone else and they stuck me in a room without a view and didn't care one bit about my experience. The restaurant was terrible as well.

The service was outstanding and there are many five star amenities such as an espresso machine in the room. When the desk clerk saw that I would be staying for seven nights she immediately upgraded me to a suite! Unfortunately the interior of the facility doesn’t really reflect the grandeur of the exterior. Don’t expect old world luxury. The hotel is a remake of some former property, so there are no separate shower stalls or big fancy bathtubs in which to luxuriate. There is plenty of Carrera marble, however. The rooms are chrome and lacquer rather than woods, which would have warmed up the place a bit. Of course decor is a matter of personal taste. I had problems with two facilities/maintenance issues during my stay. I wonder if, because of the downturn in business during the pandemic, the hotel didn’t have enough money to reinvest in infrastructure like heating and cooling, plumbing etc. Still, the property is unique because it is secluded, tucked into lower Nob Hill. As a result, it is a wonderful location/retreat after a long day of touring this most remarkable city.

Do not stay here if you are traveling with someone with special needs and require an accessible room (barrier free shower)with two double beds. There is only one such room in the entire property! Joann, the Room Controller is an absolute nightmare - rude, condescending and not customer service oriented at all. Called me on Christmas Eve at 9pm my time) a mere 6 hours before departing for my flight on Christmas Day and told me to find another place to stay. Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t think so. So disappointing. The bright spot was the Guest Relations team.

Terrible experience with check in and check out. Gave me a 2 start motel vibes. System is down…. They can’t take payment. Ask me to go back. The next person has no idea what happened. Misunderstands me 3 times. No one could give a restaurant recommendation. They passed along a message to concierge whom never called.

Ritz Carlton took the initiative to make our special trip amazing! The staff were friendly and beyond courteous. Our room was so comfortable, we slept like babies. An extra thanks to Hernando for bringing us non-alcoholic beverage after finding out we don't drink :)

Enjoyed my stay overall but service was spotty in a couple of areas. There was one door/valet man who was great, the other in the evening acted like we were an imposition on his time. One person on the concierge gave us very ordinary recommendations for dinner even though I asked for something interesting - was sent to an ordinary steak house that had no vibe. Other than that, the hotel itself was pleasant enough, nice people on the front desk.

Service is not dead at The Ritz (San Francisco, Nob Hill). The staff was genuinely wonderful. The area is close to Chinatown and Little Italy, but the whole city is very walkable. Union Square is down the hill. Nob Hill is safe and has some nice hotels and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel. Nice food, pretty rooms and unlike many Historic Hotels...The Ritz has great air quality...no musty smell! Everything is up to date. This Grand Hotel has retained it's character and beauty.

Potential guests should be aware of the very steep streets surrounding the hotel. I didn't mind it, but visitors driving who are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with SF's hilly streets might have trouble driving around there, and less physically fit people might have trouble walking to a restaurant etc even down the street.

Beautiful building extremely well refurbished and maintained, friendly , helpful and highly efficient staff. Only meal there was breakfast but good sized portions of well cooked food., Immediate area around hotel fine, but as you descend, for example toward nearby Union square, the tragic contrast with San Francisco City becomes more and more evident. Unhoused people injecting drugs or defecating on the sidewalk, major stores empty and a general sense of dirt and decay. So highly recommend the hotel but suggest drive, dont walk, to your destination in the city.

The hotel staff was superb, the rooms incredibly comfortable. We stayed at club level. We have been on club level before and this time the beverages served were not as good as in past times, and the food served was not to the same quality as in prior times. I don’t know if there has been a change in management, but for the price there should have been better drinks and food. The people who worked at club level are incredible. They welcomed us warmly, and were incredibly attentive.

Overall excellent service. One thing I’ll mention is that I was on the lounge level and everything was excellent aside from the olives in a jar which were full of mold. This was highly off putting.

The property is beautiful but small. The room service menu is the same as the lounge menu, limited food selection. Entrees were disappointing but dessert is good. Location is not the best, I would recommend fairmont instead. I asked for toothpaste and sewing kit during my stay and it was delivered to our room promptly so that was good. We found out during our second night that they broke my daughters retainers while cleaning the room but it was not brought to our attention, we had to find that out the hard when she tried to put them on at night.
