The property is quite run down . The building and elevator need some work but it's not terrible. The staff was very nice though. There is fresh water to drink in the little lobby. The room we had was small but it's being remodeled. New wooden looking floors and a fairly comfortable king size bed. It looks like it's a work in progress because there is a place where an air conditioner is going in and some drawers. I wouldn't rate it a 5 star hotel because it certainly is not, but it is a decent 3 star clean place to sleep while visiting Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, going on a cruise or just seeing San Francisco. We walked around and felt quite safe too!

Building is kept well but outdated. Rooms are well kept but outdated . TV in our room was hit and miss most of the time. No microwave and no safe in room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is great. If you bring a vehicle, parking is secure and on the property, which is nice. Balcony was too small with no place to sit, so little disappointing . Other than their , overall a good place to stay.

Would not recommend, but if you are looking for very cheap and don’t care about where you’ll lay your head to sleep by all means but this hotel is not for kids and we were told that we should have been allowed to park inside the gate due to vehicle break ins and theft.
