Unfortunately, the parking situation is a complete disaster. Too few parking spaces for too many rooms. Consequently, it's a gamble whether you'll get a parking spot on the day of your arrival. They also advertise a balcony with a partial sea view, a few centimeters in diameter, without a few chairs or a small table. None of these were available. It overlooks 7 Eleven, with a dirty street and a slew of homeless people.

The only good thing about this property is that the parking is gated and its within walkable distance to fishermans wharff. The hotel is super dated. No AC which is fine because your close to the beach. Bad things about the property: they have more rooms than parking spots (51 rooms, 29 parking behind gate)so if you dont go early you may or may not get a spot. If you do get there early they charge a 15 fee for early parking on top of the 30 a night parking but your pretty much forced into it because if you wait they may not have parking for you. If you book directly with them and not third party the parking is cheaper. They shut boiler off in the middle of the night so that the heater doesnt work so if you have the heater on it just blows cold air. We asked why it wasnt working and they stated sometimes people complain it gets too hot so they shut it off in the middle of the night. You have to call the front desk to have it turned on. Customer service was not great. The woman working at the front did not seem happy to be answering any questions. The wallpaper in the room was falling off. Limited outlets and most were behind furniture. The sheets appeared to be stained so im not even sure if they were changed before we got there. Ive stayed at this hotel 3 times and this time was the worst. It wasnt worth splurging on the larger room and the customer service was better in the past. They didnt charge for parking in the past and now do. Not sure if id stay here again.

Under construction. Absolutely no air conditioner in rooms. Only way up is through one elevator. If you get your room through this app they charge you double for parking. Parking was $30 addtionally. If you book through them directly, parking is $15. This place is decent if you only need it to sleep. Get in and get out.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel and room was very clean and neat. The hotel and rooms were very run down. although it seems as though renovating has been happening it could use some general repairs and paint. In the two days we were there the elevator was out of order twice as was the ice machine on multiple floors. Having the parking lot and access to the rooms behind gates only accessible to hotel guests was very reassuring. I never felt unsafe.

Block from Fishermans Warf which was nice. Hotel is old and run down but sacrificed for location and the free parking Secured entry wich was nice. Because area by hotel had lots of homeless, at night people sleeping on mattress on sidewalk and doing meth next to building. We stayed there twice during 2 week vacation on California coast. The first night parking was free (why we chose this particular hotel). When we came back a week later for a couple more nights it was suddenly $30 a day for parking when we were able to check in. When we arrived at the hotel at 6pm on a Saturday to check in we were locked out of lobby on the street waiting to check in with sign on window-be back in 30 Had to wait out on the street for 30 minutes for someone to show up so we could enter and go to our room. Lucky we had plenty of homeless to keep us company 😡. The free parking originally made this a economical choice to use but a since they now seem to be charging for parking there are much better options you can find a deal at

Inexpensive, older building. Tolerable, but needs some cleaning and improvement. Water damage around shower, peeling paint around heat register, broken jalosy window panes on most rooms, issue with key lock, a bit grungy all around.

We LOVED staying at the Wharf Inn. I'm picky about cleanliness and sometimes that doesn't go with affordable sometimes, but the Wharf Inn was clean, comfortable, serene, private, and surprisingly spacious! The bed was super comfy (though I wish a quilt was available!), it had a fridge, Keurig coffee maker, items were replaced like magic. We had a private balcony with view of the pier/water, which was very nice. The staff was super helpful and friendly, and left us alone, giving us privacy, yet attentive to our needs. We will definitely stay at the Wharf Inn again. It was affordable, comfortable, and clean. I gave it 3 stars for eco friendly as there could have been a recycling bin in the room. Also, it said the room came with microwave, but there wasn't one, but we didn't end up needing one, and probably would have gotten one if we had asked. The fridge was a nice size (bigger than those dorm room ones) in a retro 1950s style. The shower had a great spray nozzle and all amenities were provided, and within walking distance to pier 39 and the shops and other places as well. LOVED it here!

The location was excellent! Right at fisherman's warf, and walking distance to so many things. Unfortunately, the place is really outdated and in poor condition. The shower wouldn't drain and started backing up as soon as the water was run, there was a huge reddish stain on the curtain, the bedding had a stain and mostly everything just needed to be updated/renovated. It was not super clean. The place has such potential, but i would not stay there again as is.

The room was durty, apparently they didn't cleaning under the bed and the sofa for a months.also the corridors was durty, some signs said they under remodeling but was durty , also we find hairs on the bed, they have to offer a better services.

DON'T STAY HERE!! There was a bloody pillow case in our room along with a dirty towel and the lock didn't work either. It was just for decoration. Called to try to get the bloody pillow issue fixed but all they offered was a new pillow case. Our stay was just to spend the night, realized about the pillow after 10 p.m had it to wake up at 3:30 a.m didn't had time to be calling the front again , to tell them about the lock or the dirty towel the next morning. VERY DISAPPOINTED

The hotel needs some updates and maintenance. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The walls are very thin and it is noisy if your neighbors are not respectable or have children. The homeless wandering the streets and night yelling is very disrupting. No room cleaning service unless you are staying more than 3 nights, although you can go to the desk and ask for more towels, coffee, etc and they provide it no problem.

Great location. Walk to everything! The inn is very dated but generally clean. The room was fine especially for the price. There is no AC so really need to keep windows open. It’s a bit noisy. The lights outside the room shine into the room and curtains do not fully cover so lots of light on both ends and the center.

We booked the inn due to location it is walking distance to Ghirardelli square, fisherman’s warf and pier 39. You can’t really hear your neighbors unless window is open. The room was clean bed was soft. We had a fridge which was not cold cold but kept things cool so I guess it did its job. There is a shared microwave for each floor. The room does not have air conditioning & the only window capable of letting air in has no screen & wouldn’t close & it’s inconveniently located right next to the door safety lock which I discovered you can stick your hand in to unlock the safety latch which is a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!!! The bathroom was small WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IF YOUR ON THE HEAVIER OR TALL SIDE. I’m fairly thin and only 5’5 and found sitting on the toilet my knees almost touched the wall in front of me. They do provide pumps with body soap shampoo & conditioner in the shower. The hotel it’s self Rundown at best it looks like their doing minor upgrades, there was water in the stairwell look like water was leaking from a pipe. The elevator says 2000lbs weight limit, when my family of 3 and 2 other people were in the elevator it made the scariest of sounds to hear while moving some cars are exposed to weather in the garage but it is gated from public. ISSUE I HAD is the gate can only be opened by staff & they were on lunch when we were coming back for the night no one was there & there’s no key card or code to let yourself in. Parking is $30 a night early parking is $15 extra

There’s no air conditioning, beds rough and not comfortable! Great location in regards to fisherman’s wharf and pier 39 but it’s a very old, outdated hot hotel room. At night it wasn’t horrible but you have to open the windows which can’t have the curtains pulled so less privacy but during the day it’s HOT

Good: Very close to Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. Short walk to Ghirardelli square. Lower price than expected considering the location. Friendly staff. Nice beds, fridge. Bad: Old building with numerous cosmetic flaws. Rooms are dated. Glass slat window missing a pane of glass. Room had a weird smell. Turned on the heater fan to help- it had another weird smell. Overall- really good price, great location fairly comfortable. Was a fine stay for me alone. My wife would have hated it!

Right in the center of fisherman’s wharf , but that comes w noise and sketchy conditions. Rooms were nice , shower was ok. But no AC and couldn’t keep window open due to loud noises outside all night

The staff was nice but it was a little busy in lobby with just the one person working. Our room was not ready and we came in after the 3pm check in time. But they gave me the keys and said to come back in 15 minutes, which was ok because my family wanted to get food. The room was clean but our tv didn’t work the front desk person came and fixed it for us which was nice. The parking was safe and convenient. With it being right on the wharf it was a little loud. But I booked it last minute and it was worth what I paid. The staff was nice and friendly and my son liked the complimentary water in the lobby.

Had an okay experience, not that good but also not extremely terrible. We had someone on our floor who was screaming bloody murder like they were being killed all the while they were throwing their pillows and and stuff from their room out of their room. We went downstairs to complain and there was nobody working there. We have 3 children and they were trying to sleep. My fiancée went down stairs to complain first and I waited a little bit before I went down stairs and it said they were on their 30 minute lunch break. They were def gone longer than 30 minutes and someone who was trying to check in was waited to check in the property and park in the gated parking lot. They waited for almost an hour as well to get helped. We finally received a call from the desk almost 2 hours later but we didn’t answer due to annoyance from the negligence. The room was also extremely stuffy and basically had to sleep with the door open all night for it to stay cool.

I would not recommend staying at the Wharf Inn. This facility is run down. Staff were very unhelpful. We arrived and their payment system was down. Was told to return with cash and when we did they said they wouldn’t accept it. We checked in after 3pm and when we went to the room it had not been serviced and we had to wait outside for 30 minutes. Staff were unhelpful when we asked questions. The immediate area was dirty and had vagrants on the street at all times.

The bed was very comfortable the staff was excellent however the homeless actions the street at 7/11 were very noisy most of the night & it was very dirty outside of the property the hotel itself NEEDS upgrades it definitely HAS POTENTIAL the staff was extremely attentive it’s the homeless people around the property & the overall upkeep of the property that warrants the lower rating the hotel rooms NEED upgrades wallpaper coming off the walls no AC rooms get extra stuffy no microwave if the rooms had a makeover this could easily go to a 4 ⭐️ the location so close to pier 39 add a extra star so in total 3 ⭐️

The street next to the hotel is very dirty, loud, high traffic 24/7 and homeless people sleeping in doorways, diving through dumpsters. great place if you like to people watch, but you might not like what you see!

Location can not be beat. The hotel is around the corner from Pier 39 (maybe a 2 minute walk, if that) & across the street from the Big Bus tour. Free parking was also a BIG plus too. It is secure & gated. They also offer early/late parking before/after your stay ($15). It is not guaranteed but it helped us check out a few more things in the area without being worried about our luggage & a public lot. Hotel is clean. The hotel outside looks older but inside the room was fine. The beds & pillows probably could be comfier but all the other pluses made up for it. I would stay again.

The Wharf Inn is an older property with very little amenities. The front desk staff was very friendly and made the check in process easy. Parking is tight but we didn't use our vehicle during our four night stay so it wasn't an issue for us. Our room was perfect for our family of 5 - it had two king beds, a small table with two chairs, mini fridge and a coffee maker. The location is perfect - a short walk to the pier and within walking distance to Chinatown and Japantown.

Walkable distance to most piers including Alcatraz Landing Pier 33. Many food options in the area. The noise level can get high at night as hotel faces 7-Eleven and near busy streets. We found our junior suite comfortable and spacious for a family. We don’t have any complaints. Stay would be better if breakfast was offered especially now that you will be charged for parking. We parked at the hotel but we saw plenty of public parking nearby and cheaper.

Parking is secure/gated, once checked it. Convenient to be able to walk out the hotel and go to any shops. Right next to the pier and good eatery places. Definitely worth the stay for the price.

Excellent location at Fisherman’s Wharf. Free secure parking is a major bonus in The City. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was large and comfortable, not fancy though. In room Keurig and fridge were handy. Overall a great value.
