Courteous staff upon check-in and check-out. Renovated rooms, while small, were comfortable w/ a king size bed. Bathroom was spacious enough for two people. Visited in December and room and bathroom was very cold, even w/ heater on. Room needs more storage. Perfect location. FREE PARKING!!

Motel is a great value! It was recently renovated, so everything is new. Rooms were clean. (Free!) parking was easy and secure. Office staff friendly. Great location and value. Since it is located on Lombard, there is a lot of loud traffic noise, so request a room away from the street.

Amazing location. They are brand new and, as such, were missing a few amenities such as ice and microwaves. As they are still under construction, it is understandable. They tried to be as helpful as possible and were able to give me ice the first night. We cannot wait to return to San Fran again so we can stay with them. Nice people and a great value!

Great option for an inexpensive room and free (!) parking in San Francisco. My room was basic but newly redone, very clean, and comfortable, with nice bath products. The building itself has fairly thin walls, so I could hear nearby doors open and close, but it wasn't too bad. Would definitely return.

This was a great motel kind of in the middle of everything we needed. We had rented a car and came in very late after a concert (our reason for going to SF) and there were still places to park. Also, the lot is very secure with only two entrances from the street so nobody is likely to be randomly walking through unless they purposely turn in to the property. The rooms were pretty quiet and the only time I heard the street was when an emergency vehicle was going through with sirens on. The room was very clean, and housekeeping even came through during our two-night stay and swapped out our towels with clean ones. The setup of the room was also cool with a little sitting area on the side. The AC was top notch and we kept it around 68 when we were sleeping, which was perfect. The front desk guy was very polite with a smile to greet us. It was a wonderful motel overall that was quite affordable compared to the other properties at the time, especially given the security and parking available. I'll defintely be looking at this one if we come back to SF!

This is a clean motel with fantastic on site parking. The rooms are small and you can hear noise in adjacent rooms and from the street. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms and floors are extremely clean. If you can get a good price - book it. Better than the surrounding motels. If you want comfort…. Look elsewhere.

Loved my stay here (7/4-7/7)! There is on site parking, vending machine and ice machine. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was the perfect size for two people and very stylish. The room, bed(bed was very comfy) and bathroom were very clean. Hotel is centrally located in the city and walkable to fort mason, Ghirardelli square and fisherman’s wharf/pier 39. (Between 15-30 min walking). Would highly recommend this property.

Parking was easy and a nice perk that it was not an additional cost as most SF hotels charge. Rooms were decent and updated, but there were little to no amenities. Two of our rooms had central heat issues that ended up resulting in one of my parties being moved to another room. And the staff at check-in was VERY rude and unpleasant. They had made a mistake with one of my six rooms, and she was trying to argue with me about it. saying that one of them was a different type of rooms. Eventually she fixed the issues but begrudgingly and almost like we were bothering her.

What an amazing find. Free parking, super clean rooms and recently refurbished. We stayed in room 118 which was at front by main road so was noisy from traffic but room was super large to compensate. We did so much walking that by time went to bed it didn’t bother us. Beds were super king size and comfortable

This is a very clean and adorable motel in a great area! The bed was comfortable, and you can tell everything had been recently remodeled. The staff were very friendly! The neighborhood was spotless and charming, quite nice to walk around in and lots of nearby options for coffee and food. Loved the free parking as well and I wasn’t concerned about leaving my car there at all. I wish more motels were run as well as this one!

The room is decent sized with modern flat screen TV, AC, refrigerator and other stuff. It’s a good room for solo traveler or a couple but not much for a family with kids. 1. There’s no closet in the room just a ln open space with a few hangers. 2. There’s no microwave if you want to warm up the milk it food for the kids. Overall a nice property with just a few things missing. They should also add a few more hooks or towel bars in the bathroom for convenience.

Absolutely fine motel, location looks more remote on map than it is. We didn't drive but seems to have enough spaces. Room was clean and spacious with coffee machine. Had a room near the front so was quite noisy from traffic.

Overall we had a good stay. It has been renovated recently and the rooms are nice. The staff was very nice. There was however a few issues which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5. The toilet is incredibly close to the vanity so if you’re a larger person it can be a bit uncomfortable. The lock on the room also malfunctioned which was a bit inconvenient. The door had gaps and we could see the light coming through which also let in the noise from the parking lot. But there was a mini fridge which was great. We were able to walk fairly close and get a great view of the firework show. Also there was plenty of parking, which is included. Overall a good stay.

This place met our needs for an overnight visit prior to a medical procedure at UCSF the following day. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The property has been renovated. The room is small but functional. There is street noise that management has no control over. We read past reviews and brought ear plugs to help eliminate the problem. Room has a large flat screen smart TV with streaming options such as Netflix. Parking is free and plentiful which is a huge plus especially in SF.

It was easy to get to several different forms of public transit. There are a couple restaurants close by. Only downfall was the motion sensor light in the bathroom had about 3 minute timers so it would go off while in the shower and hard to turn back on.

This place absolutely rocks. It's in a wonderful location, has super comfy beds, a nice clean layout, plenty of space for our luggage (and then some), and stellar water pressure. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in SF, whether it be a short solo trip or a longer family excursion. Also, free parking is pretty awesome. I need to circle back to these beds, they are seriously so incredible. I absolutely slept like a rock. I love this bed so much, I am buying one for my new apartment.

Nice upgraded motel, great customer service. Unfortunately hard to sleep because you hear every footstep in upstairs unit and every door close.

Automatic light in bathroom would turn on of you use bathroom at night and make the whole room very bright, very annoying. Large room and bathroom but not much storage space.

The Lombard St motels are hit and miss, and this was a miss for us. It is conveniently located close to food & shopping, all within walking distance. This motel also offers free parking, a plus on Lombard. But its design is older, and allows for a lot of the street noise to be heard in the rooms. When we checked in at 4, we were given the room right over the office next to the street. I asked for another and was told none were available. Clerk said- you won’t hear the traffic, there is no window over the street. True, but we had to listen to the office door slamming closed all night long. There was a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee. Hubby went downstairs to office to get some to prepare in the room, but they wouldn’t give him any. Instead they had coffee made there in the office for guests, something they didn’t tell us at check-in. We also encountered a gentleman who was also unhappy with the room he had been given. Turns out he booked the same type of room and checked in later than us, but was given another room at check in, when we were not. Crappy service. Also, because of the age of this place, there are issues that the renovation didn’t address. If you look at the pics, you’ll see the gaps around the door. The frame is crooked, and this let in so much noise, light, and cold air. I tried stuffing towels in the gaps, but it didn’t help much. I don’t think we’ll be staying at this place again.

The Tv had a huge distortion on the top right side and the table fell apart when we moved it to use the hide a bed. It was day 2 of 4 when we finally turned on the tv to find it broken. They kept my $200 deposit.

It was a good room, it was a pretty nice location, but it was awful the service of the two person, they were no help at all. I know we arrive early than check in, but also we had a baby and we expected more help from them.

Good customer service especially from Sam at the front desk. Free, ample parking and no resort or hidden fees.

I did a ton of research for our trip- me+3 teens. Wanted location that was midway and walkable for all the major spots- GG park to pier 39, Chinatown, Ferry Building, etc. Star Motel blew us away with the upgraded rooms, ample FREE parking spots, location, and flexibility for our check-out needs. 100% would recd to friends and stay again. We were in room 208- corner upstairs room- and loved it. Mini fridge, AC, new showers, sky light, and more. Loved our stay!

This place was so beautifully decorated and updated. Safe, lots of gated parking in a beautiful area walking distance to the wharf. This is definitely our go to spot

It was in a great location and was very walkable which made the experience fun. Plenty of food, shops, etc. that were very fun and easy to walk to. It was my first time in San Francisco and would definitely stay here again.

Great value (free coffees, free parking, full toiletries) and great location right on Lombard Street. Very clean and well finished. Beside a bus stop if you need it. Great cafes not too far away for breakfast and other meals. Very friendly reception staff.

The room was really nice and very clean. The property was newly renovated, and they did an excellent job on the interior design. The exterior areas were really nicely maintained. I think housekeeping forgot to clean the shower (there was a used bar of soap in there). The coffee station in the room had not been replenished with regular coffee. The AC wasn’t working, but it was an easy fix by pressing reset button on the plug.
