Its location is brilliant.Parking was first class for a disabled passenger .All staff were friendly ,professional,well trained and a credit to the hotel.Food was decent but the price was a bit high for dinner especially having to pay extra for vegetables to accompany the main meat/fish dish.All in all it was very impressive and the highlight is the friendliness of the staff

Good location and very clean. Was charged £15 a night parking by the hotel directly but signs at the parking garage were a lot cheaper, too late to check by the time we left.

This hotel only opened 4 days ago so everything is very new. Concierge and reception were excellent. Parking is immediately behind the hotel and very easy. The bar area is very contemporary although personally I found it a little too dark but others will like it I’m sure. Bar staff were very attentive and the glass of water being topped up at our table regularly was a nice touch. The only issue we had in our stay was that my room TV did not work - not a major issue as I usual put it on for a bit of sound in the morning only. The other room we had it worked fine. Also the staff could not find a late night room service food menu. In the end we ordered a deliveroo - not ideal. However, do not let these couple of things put you off they are just teething problems that will be sorted very quickly I’m sure. This is an excellent hotel and well worth a visit. Try to request a river view room if you can.

We had a lovely stay at the Dakota. We were greeted at the door by 2 staff members who were lovely and showed us to reception. Reception staff were lovely and friendly, engaged in conversation asking about our day. Wished me a Happy Birthday and our room was ready early, so was able to check in a good couple of hours earlier. Room was nice and spacious, clean and we could monitor the air con. Our overall stay was amazing and would definately reccomend. We didnt go in tbe restaurant/bar or stayed for breakfast so cant comment on this.

Amazing welcome. We travel to Newcastle frequently and thought the hotel was spotless. The staff were all so nice, hope the hotel does well is it’s quite new. Would 100% stay again!

Hotel was spotlesly clean. Super comfortable bed and large, fluffy towels. The staff were absolutely amazing, perfect combination of friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is convenietly situated on the Quayside, a short uber ride to everywhere we wanted to go. We dined in the restaurant on our 1st night, it was expesive even by London standards (£270 for 3 of us, 2 courses each) but the quality was excellence and the food was tasty. We would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel is a clean, modern option for those staying on the Quayside. Sadly, our room (223) was a huge letdown. It looked great at first, but at 3:30am I was woken by a loud noise like a toilet flushing, followed soon after by an even louder noise, like a jet wash! It only lasted a minute or two, but I was wide awake. Exactly one hour later at 4:30am it happened again, then again at 5:30. Clearly, some kind of automated system, so no sleep! The room was also incredibly stuffy, among the worst we’ve stayed in. With no fresh air (the windows don’t open at all) At checkout, I mentioned this when asked, hoping it would be helpful feedback. The smiling Scottish lady said it hadn’t been reported before (hard to believe) and promised compensation via email the same day—a discount or voucher for a future stay. Nothing arrived. I wasn’t looking for compensation, but offering and not delivering made it feel worse. The noise might be specific to 223, but the lack of ventilation likely affects every room, as it used to be an office building. Top tip: avoid room 223 (Junior Suite with a view). We won’t be returning to Dakota Newcastle—compensation or not.

What stunning hotel, we had a junior suite, and it was such a great space. Plenty of room for starters. Tones of natural light, with a fantastic view of the Millennium and Tyne Bridge. Pure comfort and luxury, if we didn’t have plans I would have chilled in the room more, that’s how nice the room was.

Overall, a fantastic hotel. Staff were very polite and courteous. Stayed in an Executive Suite and was certainly wowed by the room, very clean and modern! I have two very very small gripes - The room service portions (although delicious) were a little small! I went for the burger and could have quite happily ate another. Only other issue was the pillows, not the most comfortable and they certainly let the bed down (Which is a shame as very comfortable otherwise!) Excellent location (our view of the Quayside was fantastic) and would highly recommend again!

We stayed at Dakota Newcastle while visiting the city for a show at The Glasshouse – a gift for my parents and a treat for us as well. This hotel easily ranks among the best we’ve experienced. Though relatively new, its stylish, modern design—with a moody yet welcoming atmosphere—exudes sophistication and comfort. We booked standard rooms (207 and 208), which were impeccably clean, comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard. Each room featured a large TV cleverly disguised as a mirror, offering a wide range of channels and streaming options. The bathrooms were equally impressive, complete with a luxurious rainfall shower and Molton Brown toiletries—a lovely touch. Even the addition of a night light in the bathroom was a great touch. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous selection of cereals, pastries, and cooked options to choose from. The service throughout our stay was outstanding, especially at check-in and during breakfast. The concierge, in particular, was a standout—and a real credit to the hotel. The professionalism and attention to detail from all staff were truly first-class and we will definitely visit again.

An amazing experience from start to finish from the staff that greet you at the door to the reception and waiting staff. All were courteous and warm. As for the actual hotel, it is stunning and we can’t wait to go back. We upgraded to the junior suite and it was worth the extra. Couldn’t recommend Dakota enough.

Beautiful Hotel ideally placed for visiting The Sage Centre. Fantastic comfortable room, great clean bathroom, tea and coffee offerings were good. Only downside £23 each for a breakfast is crazy compared to other hotels. So we ate out lol.

This is a brilliant new hotel and much needed in Newcastle. Excellent! Special mention to Ovi for his service at breakfast. Sumptuous decor, beautiful bathroom with underfloor heating, great facilities. Breakfast was excellent too. We’ll definitely be back.

Fantastic and beautiful hotel. The decor is very tasteful. Staff amazing. Food delicious. We had room service which for us was a first, food was delivered promptly and hot. Breakfast was excellent only thing i thought was missing was another juice as i cannot have orange and i dont like apple, otherwise I very good selection. Bar was very comfortable and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. The rooms are lovely, bathroom amazing. Towels changed daily along with coffee refills and bottled water. We also had a nespresso machine in room.
