We loved staying here for a family trip with our children & grandchildren. The location is perfect and adjacent to Whaler’s Village restaurants and shops. Kids loved the water slides and being beachfront on a sandy stretch of beach. Spa was lovely. Valley Alley arcade was a plus. Ulu Kitchen food was delicious! Friendly, helpful staff.

This is a beautiful resort. 3 pools of which one is adult only, and lots of dining options in the resort and nearby. Nice trails to walk on nearby and even an arcade inside. Service was really good. The only thing was I thought the room was on the smallish size for the price, and the outdoor pool chairs are super close to each other.

Pool area is very busy and very crowded with not only Westin guests but also guests from other neighboring Marriott properties. Challenging to get a bartender’s attention. Towel checkout policy is tiresome. Paid $85 per day for two beach chairs and an umbrella. In general, the resort seems oversubscribed.

The property was nice. The housekeeping staff was extremely friendly. Close proximity to Whalers Village and Black Rock beach. The elevators were extremely slow and several were not working during our stay. There was only one spa available for families and it was not working during our stay. Overall it was a nice place to stay but not sure we will return on our next trip.

One of the most amazing vacations resorts Ive ever visited. The property/ocean view from our room was spectacular! The staff friendly and accomodating in every way. Wonderful dining on property. Adult only pool and hot tub separate from the family space was nice as well.

We opted for a ground floor room with an outdoor seating area right outside our sliding glass door. When we checked in, people were already sitting in our area and didn’t wanna leave because it was in the shade. Eventually, they did, so no harm no foul. Upon checking in, we had to ask the maid to come back into our room to re-clean because there was hair in the bathroom, shower, and toilet area on the ground. The food was good, but we would’ve rather opted for a cheaper room in hindsight. Would not go back.

Service, hospitality,housekeeping was amazing. The options of amenities and restaurants felt endless, and overwhelmed us in the best way possible. Employees loved their job which elevated the experience even more. Down to the nitty gritty, rooms were clean, pool areas were clean and the towel system was great. The food on the hotel property was delicious and beyond worth it. Best hotel experience ever!

Booked trip to bring in the New Year and to help celebrate my grandmother’s 80th birthday. This was her first time to Hawaii. Pro(s): -Listed as a four star hotel -Nice Amenities -Beautiful property, especially the lobby area -Overall Friendly staff -Our room was pretty updated -Lots to do at and around the hotel -They have a beach wheelchair available for anyone unable to safely walk the beach due to mobility issues (very helpful as my 80 year old grandmother struggled walking on the sand) -Thoughtful wooden engraved gift to help celebrate my grandmother’s birthday (such a thoughtful gesture and definitely helped start the trip off great) Con(s): -Pay attention when booking. There is a huge difference between “oceanfront” and “ocean view”. Rm. 383*’s ocean view was of a parking lot. If you turn towards the corner of the balcony you’ll see the ocean. -Hotel room has roaches (palm size and smaller). The first night we were greeted by a huge roach scurrying across the room when we turned on the light. Absolutely disgusting. We then requested to change rooms only to have a dead roach viewable the rest of that stay (rm 978). Compensation for roaches: room change upon our request (two bed queen to having to share a king size bed), $800 off (for the cost difference to having to downgrade beds, $200 towards inconvenience), resort fee ($100) & parking (~$100) waived. Compensation for $4k for a 2 night stay to deal with roaches feels unacceptable, however, this was their offer.

This was our first time on Maui. Staying at the Westin was the right thing. From getting by the valet staff to the open-air lobby, our first impressions were only confirmed through check-in and our room. We took an ocean view in the Ocean Tower and overlooked the waterfall and incredible koi pond. The layout makes it easy to stay on the property and get everything, but the beachside walkway also makes it easy to access the shopping plaza next door. Housekeeping did a fabulous job. It was about 45 minutes from the airport, but we rented a car to drive to the Island.

Variety of pools and the beach. Didn’t like the lack of dining options. The staff did not seem willing to help with the exception of the bell hops-they were awesome better than the three Concierges we spoke with. There was a cockroach in our room the last night and the wifi was not working properly our entire stay.

Outside patio we upgraded to and furniture etc dirty nothing to put on them to enjoy the area. Also the fridge leaked on floor and the room people did mot even try to clean the water up so smelled.

The bathroom vanity/sink area was extremely small, definitely not for 2 people. The bathroom sink would not drain and was extremely dirty. The staff were extremely rude and not helpful. Horrible stay and definitely would not even think about staying there. Will also leave a review about this on yelp.

Overall it's a beautiful property and most of the staff were friendly & helpful. I loved the benefit of being in the Hokupa'a Tower and would highly recommend that option if you're staying there. It places you closer to most of the amenities, upgraded rooms & lanai with included food & drink options offered throughout the day make it worth it. There were two things that I found to be disheartening.1) Most of the outdoor furniture was dirty. Sometimes it was bird poop, sometimes it was an indistinguishable stain, oftentimes, it was multiple stains. I couldn't understand why such a nice hotel wouldn't clean or replace such disgusting chair or couch cushions. I saw this on the furniture on our room's personal lanai as well as throughout the property at restaurants, lounge areas, etc. 2) The resort offers you a hospitality room to shower/freshen up on your last day if you have a late flight. I thought this was a wonderful amenity, especially since check out is at 11am & our flight wasn't leaving until 7pm. That meant we could hang out at the beach or pool or do another tour and before heading to the airport, then shower and change before a long 12 hour flight. I didn't realize that these hospitality rooms would be dirty. It was clear that they did not clean the rooms in between hotel guest usage. There were dirty towels on the floor, used beds and used showers. We were condescendingly told to deal with it, as it's a free amenity and they didn't have time to clean in between.

We stayed in the newer tower and loved everything about our stay, except the beds. They are WAY too soft and caused both my husband and I to wake up in pain every morning. Highly recommend updating the mattresses to match the 5-star experience this resort provides.

This is nice clean resort and easy to get around. I love the beds, views, staff and how clean it is. The down side is the door thin and you can hear everything in the halls and people across from you. I could hear party people all night in the halls and small children screaming in the halls in the early morning. Very early morning. Also, the doors are really loud when closing. You can hear the entire floor coming and going with slams. If the they could change out the doors it would have been a perfect stay.

The rooms are small and not very decorated for $500 /day. The property is beautiful, it’s built around theme of tropical paradise. Everyday was a treat to sit around there and breakfast or just hang around there. They have beautiful swimming pools and beach is right in the backyard.

The area around the pool is very nice and we loved the amenities. Fred, Joseph, Connie, Jenna and Brad at the bar provided excellent service as always. All the Bell men are so personable especially Eric. Such nice guys to represent the first contact at the hotel. One thing is that could be improved is the room is the sound barrier from the hall ways. It’s very loud so hard to sleep when people are taking and slamming doors in the hallways. Overall we love this hotel! Great location, very clean and wonderful amenities.

The location was amazing! Beautiful pools and beach access. Outside area was in great condition. The main issue we had was with the quality of the rooms and the loudness outside our room. The pictures online are not accurate for all rooms. Our room was in the old tower and the rooms were very old-felt like a room from the 80’s. Fortunately the beds were comfortable and shower was great. Bathrooms very tight. The rooms were not worth the price but you pay for location and property. We had little kids running up and down the hallways playing ball and slamming doors many mornings which was a little surprising and quite loud. They get away with these older rooms due to the beautiful grounds and location but these other rooms also need an update and pictures should better reflect what they actually look like.

The good: hotel was perfectly located in the center of Ka’anapali, right on the beach, and next door to Whalers Village with many restaurant options nearby. Staff we encountered at hotel, restaurant, and spa were very friendly and nice. The massage at beach cabana was excellent. The pools for kids looked like a lot of fun for little ones but we didn’t use it. The bad: it’s an older property and the rooms shows. We had an ocean view king and it was pretty small for two people, if the sofa bed was open I’d imagine you’d be on top of each other. The closet and bathroom were tiny, and no fan in the bathroom, so smelled a bit moldy. We were there in mid February, not the height of summer or holidays, but the whole place felt very packed and crowded. Elevators and restaurants were always full and the whole place was pretty noisy with music blasting from what seemed like different locations competing. In the evenings when we sat on the balcony (4th floor facing pool and ocean), all we hear were competing music and people, not at all peaceful or relaxing. So we didn’t sit on the balcony anymore. Hello, I paid an additional $500 for the concierge experience, and what I received was unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this service did not meet even basic expectations. At the regular check-in counter, I could have been checked in immediately, but I was directed to concierge instead—where I was left waiting over 40 minutes just to receive my room key. That is not a premium experience. Dinner was even worse. The so-called concierge lounge was overrun with more than 20 children of all ages—crying, screaming, and running around. It was chaotic and disruptive, making it impossible to relax or enjoy the meal. I spoke with several other couples, and they were equally devastated and frustrated. Many of us adults ended up leaving without finishing our meals. If this is marketed as a luxury, adult-focused experience, then families with children must be separated from guests who paid for peace, comfort, and quality. To make matters worse, the food itself was flavorless, poorly presented, and the chef was visibly grumpy. This was far from the elevated experience I paid extra for. Overall, the concierge upgrade or whatever experience they call it was a complete disappointment and not worth the cost.

The check in for the tower was very nice. Caroline who checked us in was outstanding and very friendly and knowledgeable. Adult pool waitresses were great and quick. Would stay at the westin again.

Check in lines take forever and our wrist band wouldn’t let us in our room one day. Which made for a very long elevator wait time ride even longer because everyone’s was not working and didn’t know until they got to their rooms so everyone was waiting at the same time. The bar staff at the pool were amazing! Drinks were strong and food was good!

The property is beautiful. However, check your bill upon check out. They charged us for two days of valet when we only had a car one night. They when questioned removed the fee. Then on the final bill the valet charge was changed to a 50$ in room movie fee. We did not watch any movies while there. Very deceitful practice

Staff wasn’t the friendliest. You would think traveling to such paradise as Hawaii people would be nicer but seems like everybody has a chip on their shoulder. Definitely was expecting way nicer treatment. Other than the facility was gorgeous. Unfortunately due to rude service we will never go back to this location.

What a fabulous property. Lush surroundings, beautiful waterfalls and too many pools to count. The beaches out front are beautiful, with great sand and no rocks. Having Whaler's Village next door is a great plus too. A great place to stay!

This location was PERFECT!! The pools were fantastic, and the beach at the Westin was easily the best section. Loved all the amenities, shopping, and restaurants. They had a shuttle to take us into Lahaina, and we had the BEST bus driver; we got back on the shuttle at one point to go home, not realizing it wasn’t on the scheduled pick up times. He didn’t even question it and took us right back. So genuinely kind! The rooms were a bit dated for the price point, but we will still stay here again because of how courteous the staff were. We’ve stayed in other hotels on Kaanapali but will be returning to the Westin!

Great property in the center of Kaanapali Beach. Excellent restaurants on property and Whalers Village next door with many food and shopping options. Live music every night at great Beach/Pool Bar and Grill… Bedding, Pillows & Linens are amazing; slept all night with quiet walls and black out curtains. Great fitness center, 5 pools and two slides in three levels. Amazing beach 1/2 mile long with great off-beach snorkeling at black rock beach. Best location in Maui… We’ll be back

Absolutely beautiful from the open lobby area with the waterfall to the koi ponds and the exotic birds to the extensive pool area and beyond. This hotel took our breath away when we walked in. We enjoyed the view from our garden view room. We went to 3 islands and this was our favorite hotel. Great restaurants, walking distance to a shopping center with more great restaurants, Starbucks onsite, and a convenient grab and go/made to order fast food type option. Beach was right beyond the pool area. Great valet - quick service. Highly recommend!

We loved the location, and the beds were amazing. Best massage of my life in the spa as well. We upgraded to the Lanai or club level and truth be told it was a little disappointing (no lunch served just breakfast and dinner, no bottled water, had to pay for drinks). The pool was also super cold but besides that, the property was very nice!!

We have stayed at this property multiple times over the years. I’ll start with the good- check in staff was friendly and flexible with last minute requests; the rooms we booked were updated, clean and comfortable; cleaning staff was exceptional; pool and water areas were clean and well maintained. The not so good- anything associated with food was expensive; price for one banana or one small orange was $4 per; average restaurant cost for four people with one drink/per and tip ended up being $400; the pool staff was really slow and would walk by us without offering a menu or asking if we would like a drink. Multiple times we had to ask for service. Overall I would rate the hotel rooms and grounds 9/10 and service 6/10. Location 9/10. We have stayed at the Andaz, Four Seasons, Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Hana-Maui Resort as a comparative.

We vacationed with our older children for a total of 8 people. We enjoyed the size and decor of the rooms, the view and convenience to the beach and shopping. What failed us was the food and restaurants. All the restaurants, including the neighboring restaurants, had extremely poor food quality considering the price (min $60 per person for food and $25 a drink), in addition it was lacking in variety. We were extremely disappointed not to mention, none of these restaurants accepted reservations. Even though we loved the location, condition of the rooms and views we would not choose to go a second time.

There was a woman at the reception desk—I didn't catch her name. She was older and wore her hair in a bun. She made no attempt to help or offer advice. She was rude and unprofessional for a hotel of this caliber. I will not stay at this hotel chain again, nor will I recommend it. She didn't even offer any options regarding financial matters; she just stared at her computer as if I weren't even there. I was completely ignored.
