Easy access to the pool and beach. Beach was never crowded and the sights were spectacular. Ice cold air conditioning in room. Location is away from the touristy hotels south of MKV. Old school Hawaiian resort, villas had full kitchen with micro, large refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and cabinets stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, everything you have at home. Free wi-fi and parking. Gym on site, as well as a restaurant for casual dining at the Castaway Cafe. There is a beachfront walkway that travels over one mile along the coast and is a great place to walk or jog in the morning. It stops at Dukes Restaurant. We have stayed here 5 times and it is consistently awesome. Rate A+.

Beautiful trees/flowers all over property. Pools well kept and not too crowded. Onsite restaurant was nice and near the larger pool if you wanted a drink. Beach was also very nice and not crowded. It’s a very walkable property. Not too big and there’s sidewalks. Would go back again!

Great place and wonderful staff! A few small negatives… Only thing I didn’t like was all of the extra fees at the end. I think it was $35/day added plus a lot of little taxes. Parking is difficult as well, but we’re young and didn’t affect us much with a little walking to get to the room. Just a heads up for any elderly visitors.

This is a beautiful low density property that has one 6 story building but most units are in two story buildings that look out onto lush garden and ocean views. All have kitchens which is amazingly comforting and cost effective instead of dining out every night. This property is RIGHT ON THE BEACH, a beautiful sandy beach with calm waters and no rocks. Tiki torches burn at night, the Castaway Cafe is on property and the food is delicious. Casual but high quality dishes. Sunsets every night viewable from anywhere on property and the large lawn beachfront with comfy chaises under beautiful old trees. Kind professional staff. This place is a dream. You will be soooo glad you chose this property over the hotel room in large crowded hotels. Supermarket is 5 minutes away. Whalers Village is the best shopping on West Maui and everything is easily reachable via the excellent beach boardwalk.

The pool was great, and the beach was not too crowded and super close by. The only draw back is that there is not a convenience store on the property. If you need something you’d have to walk to the Westin or the other resort. A 10-15 min walk, so honestly not bad.. but just inconvenient. Not the end of the world, though. The beds were extremely comfortable and I appreciated the full fridge and microwave situation!! The front desk staff are so friendly and provide a lot of information. We didn’t use the concierge service because we wanted a more chill laid back experience, BUT, I absolutely loved how she called our room to let us know what she could help with. That was a really lovely touch. If we were up for a more active vacation we would have taken her up on that. All and all, a wonderful resort, with good people working there. The people make the experience ✨

Upon arriving at the hotel that we had selected based on it having air conditioning, we were told that they recently had a fire in their utility room rendering the building AC inoperative, in addition to needing to close their fitness and laundry facilities, and it would remain so for the duration of our stay and likely for many more months after. Although we were given a fan to try and help, most of our nights were sleepless in addition to experiencing discomfort during the day as we were not able to cool the room sufficiently with the fan. We had requested some compensation or additional action, but all we received was a token discount of $11on the daily resort fee versus a room fee many times that. We expressed our displeasure and were told that it would be taken up with hotel management and heard nothing further, even after subsequent requests. Resort support staff were friendly and helpful, but it quickly became apparent that management was more focused on their ownership than the satisfaction of their guests. We will not be back.

2nd time staying at this property and both stays were good. Quiet, comfortable and the main reason why I choose to book here is it sits right on the best beach in Hawaii (in my opinion) never crowded. Free snorkeling daily. Between here and Westin. The property itself is a little old, but it is well maintained. property grounds are nicely manicured and clean. They’ve got a nice pool and on site restaurant. Beach rental shack is right on there too . Perfect properly for families with little ones. They also let you check in early if your unit is available!

The resort is beautiful and beachfront. The pool is warm and beautiful. We rented a beach cabana right on the sand. Beautiful grounds with lots to do (gym, swim, outdoor games, restaurant and bar). Loved the water aerobics classes. Also offers yoga but did not participate. Room was nice. Great location. Staff are amazing!

The hotel is so nice and the pool is fantastic. The beach that is connected to the hotel is great and the sand is so soft. Our room was very clean and quiet. It was so comfortable. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We’ve stayed here twice already and will definitely stay again when we come back to Maui.

The room was a little dated and we had a cockroach visit us. MKV is a premiere resort so it was a bit disappointing that the room was so dated. The staff at MKV are amazing and friendly. Castaways is a great place to eat and have cocktails when at the pool or beach!

The property was generally pretty dated both inside and outside. We were on the first floor and our room was so musty/humid that our swimsuits didn’t dry after hanging for over 24 hours. By the end of the week everything felt “wet”. Also, housekeeping only came once during our stay (6 nights), and they didn’t even make the bed? I feel like daily housekeeping is pretty standard when staying at a hotel longer than a week, so this was disappointing. Furthermore, the staff seemed reluctant to provide us with extra towels, even when we went to the front desk to pick them up ourselves. Very odd. On the bright side, the property is located on a beautiful beach and it’s possible to rent chairs/umbrellas/etc for a reasonable price. We didn’t spend too much time at the resort, but the time we spent on that beach was great! Good location if you want to visit different parts of the island during your stay. Also lots of stores nearby if you find yourself needing something during your time on Maui! Had breakfast at “Castaway”… pancakes were slightly undercooked and we had slow service. Not sure what to think considering the cost.

The best years of this property as long gone. The age is showing, wallpaper pealing, cracked mirrors, water damage on the ceiling, and dated patio furniture. It was broadcasted like a hotel, but it’s not, it’s a condo community. No poolside drinks, no turn down service, no room service and worst of all they only clean Monday’s and Tuesday. The property is well kept on the outside but the rooms are not.

Room cleaning service is non existent. Had to request new towels after couple of days and needed to call two times to remind (they will ask you to collect all dirty towels and put it outside. New towels will be dropped in a plastic bag inside your door - may be a carry over process from COVID times but conveniently still used by the hotel despite all COVID restrictions are gone). The trash/garbage from the room was never taken out for the whole 4 days that we were in the property.

Great condo hotel on Maui right on Kaanapali Beach. First time here and we liked the spacious comfort of the unit we got, ocean view but no lanai or balcony that was large enough to sit out on. Would book again, maybe ocean front unit with a lanai or balcony. Fairly close to Whalers Village, close to the Safeway if you want to buy groceries and eat in. Nice BBQ area if you want to grill. Pool is great and nice jacuzzi and kiddie pool, and easy beach access. Beach is soft sand, not rocky but does get deep very quickly. Resort was well maintained and quiet, very nice polite staff. Good restaurant on site if you don’t want to cook. The only thing I did not care for was no housekeeping during your stay, the room was not ready at 3:30 pm when we arrived so we had to wait for it but it was ready by 4 pm the normal check-in time.

Nice little surprise showing up to two-hundred and-fifty-dollars of amenity fees and damage waiver. (Expedia won’t publish reviews with dollar costs)… Expedia advertisement said total with fees, until you dig into the fine print several pages later. I missed it until showing up and had no reasonable option to choose a different place. On top of that, my family was put in the wrong room with one bed instead of two. A word to the wise, a large percentage of their rooms listed as garden view simply face into the courtyard. In reality the other view is towards the highway 100’ away screened by a row of bushes and palms. You will hear the traffic in your room all night long.

Best part was hearing the waves crashing at night! A beautifully decorated studio with a full kitchen. In front of pool and maybe 50 feet from the beach. Easy walk along the beach walk to Whalers Village with lots of shops and restaurants. Will be back!

Do not book the "hotel rooms". They are the farthest away from everything and the noise factor from the AC exhaust for the whole complex will keep you awake. It runs constantly. Grounds are fine, including Castaway restaurant. Also, be aware of any current construction. They began at 9AM every morning.

Property was good but services lacked prompt service. When checked in, I requested for rice cooker which was never delivered until I checked out. Staff could be more friendly since there was no greetings when checked in and during my entire stay. Our stay at Aston Maui Ka’anapali Villas was less than satisfactory. While the property operates on villa availability through owners, we faced several challenges. After a long 6-hour flight, our check-in experience was quite unpleasant, with a 3-hour wait for our room. I would recommend considering larger hotel groups like Marriott for more attentive customer service. Initially, our room had no hot water, and the front desk attendant was rude, offering no assistance when we had to move to another room. The new room did have hot water, but it was discolored and seemed unused for a long time. Additionally, the bedsheets had an odd smell. Be aware that there’s no restaurant on the premises, so you'll need to bring essentials if your room has a kitchen. On a positive note, there is plenty of parking available at no extra cost. It's also advisable to book a car in advance as relying on Uber could be expensive."

We greatly enjoyed our visit to Aston Kaanapali Villas - the highlight for us was the service provided by Christopher McGill, the concierge. He was very helpful in advising us of activities not to be missed, tips for travel, alerts to best departure times, and things to make our visit more enjoyable. You have a treasure in him! We were disappointed to have cleaning service only twice during nine days but we managed.

We checked to have two queen beds, and only ended up with one. The employee named Dana said that it was just a "request" not a "reservation." We asked to switch rooms, even later on in the week, but she wanted to continue to argue with us and tell us we didn\'t have that reservation, even though I had even called the hotel prior to our arrival. to confirm. We got several surveys from management, but no one ever responded to our dissatisfaction. I ended up having to sleep in a pullout bed with thin mattress the week, and threw my back out. Not the kind of service I was expecting from a high-rated resort. Also, there is only one dining option with a limited menu, and the Wi-Fi and phone service did not work in our room. We were told to use our neighbor\'s Wi-Fi, which also didn\'t work, or walk down to the lobby each time we needed it. On the flip side, it was quiet and beautiful, and the other employees we encountered were friendly. Convenient to take the trolley down to Whaler\'s Village for better dining options.

A very underwhelming experience. A property whose glory days are behind it. We got a message a few days in advance that the air conditioning will be out of order until June. Not a big deal, but it left a sour taste that the attendant in check-in told us "I just heard that the air conditioniong in your room is out of order". Later we found out that also the laundry room and the gym were out of order as they had experienced a fire of the electricity system. Lack of transperency is disappointing. We stayed 4 nights, and were told there would be cleaning service only every 3 days. After 3 nights the room was not done. I asked about it and the attendant promised to have it done. No-one ever came and no-one ever said anything about it. When I checked out I mentioned it and the answer was literally a shrug. No-one seems to care about anything. I´ve been trying to think of something positive to say. Let´s go with that the butterfish in the restaurant was tasty.

Amazing stay at this resort. They conveniently switch our room because it did not match what we had been looking for and Joe at the front desk is probably the best hotel/resort person we have ever encountered. Super helpful and accommodating as well as very personable. Our flight did not leave until late the day of our checkout and they offer a shower and change room for guest to use because obviously they no longer have a room. We will definitely come back to this resort in the future!

The beach is gorgeous. The resort is on the older side and not luxurious, but it’s comfortable, the staff is warm and welcoming, the on-site restaurant is great, and there is a free trolley that takes you to some of the other resorts and Whalers Village. I will definitely stay here again strictly for the beach and the location in west Maui.

Lovely location on Kaanapali beach. Our large unit on the 6th floor had beautiful views of gardens and partial ocean. We did have noise from the highway. The pool is large and very pretty with a flower garden waterfall in the centre.

I wish I could remember the names of the staff because they deserve recognition… From the front desk to the people that delivered anything I asked for…All were wonderful ❤️ we decided to check out the castaway Café located on the property… It was so good we never went anywhere else. Seemed to be a slightly older property compared to the other nearby resorts. However very well maintained and beautiful still. Only one dining option but very good food and drinks. Good overall amenities like free coffee and hospitality was good. Location is part of the complimentary trolley service. The pool and beach was great. Room was older like i said but full kitchen and soft bed. They provided room service by request. A great option if you want to save a little on the cost. They do charge an extra $40/night upon arrival tho.

Went here for my anniversary it was amazing and beautiful the beach is very accessible and clean so is the hotel the staff was so friendly and welcoming and helped us get around by showing us a trolly that you can get around to different hotels and shops with they also have rentals right by the pool for cabanas, snorkeling gear, etc and the castaway restaurant had the best views you can see dolphins in the morning and the best view for sunset at night I will definitely be returning.

This is more of a quiet area and has way more plants than the other hotels which made me feel more relaxed. We only called the hotel twice and maintenance came super fast and fixed everything. Loved how there is 2 pools, one big main one and one smaller with a hot tub. There’s a cafe on the beach side that is 10000/10 best spot to eat. I would def recommend, the room was super spacious as well, very private balcony

My only complaint was the lack of vegan options at The Castaway Cafe. Everything else about the resort was excellent and the best part was the beautiful Kaanapali beach. Can’t wait to go back!
