We really enjoyed our stay at this historic inn right near wonderful downtown Cambria. We were able to walk to great dining and cute shops. The inn features a happy hour from 5-7pm with wine, cocktails and house-made appetizers. Very friendly staff. We had a huge king suite on the first floor with very comfortable bed, great shower, fridge and microwave. The inn doesn’t provide breakfast, but they have a great variety of snacks, coffee & tea, and fruit to enjoy. We will definitely stay here again.

This is an older 2 story hotel right on Main Street in downtown Cambria. Our room was a suite with a king sized bed. A microwave, mini fridge, and a pour-over coffee setup (Great idea!!). There was also an electric fireplace which helped take the chill off and provided ambiance. We were on the 2nd floor, which was good because this IS an older hotel and you would here heavy walkers if you're on the first floor. Our room looked down on backside of the hotel which has a lovely patio area and large gas firepit with festive lighting. Great free happy hour with craft cocktails and a snack in a cozy reception area. We were in walking distance to many great restaurants. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Love staying at Rigdon House when I’m in the Central Coast! Their rooms are cozy and complete with all the amenities you need, including toiletries, makeup wipes, extra towels, etc. Each room I have stayed in includes an electric fireplace and a coffee bar with drip coffee, an electric kettle, a microwave and mini fridge. There’s a coffee room in the main building where you can grab tea, tea cups, dishes and snacks, including popcorn, cookies and fruit. This is what really sells me each time- Each night from 5-7pm they have FREE happy hour in the lounge, where there’s plenty of seating and REAL cocktails, not just wine and beer. Plus, it’s walkable to downtown Cambria, where you’ll find great food, some shopping and a natural foods market with an amazing deli. Highly recommended, will be back again!

Family room was dirty and moldy. Windows in the nook were dirty and black round the edges. In that same bedroom the floor plate on the sliding closet door was dirty and black. Carpet has stains and looked to be old. Stayed here a long time ago, not the same. Poor young lady at the desk was stretched thin doing everything. Happy hour and morning promises were lacking. Very disappointing.

We stayed here to break up the long trip to San Francisco and to visit Hearst Castle. We wound up loving this town. The hotel, which is in an historical building, was a stand-out for its nightly happy hour, its quaint charm, fire pit behind the main lobby, and ease of access to local shops and restaurants. Cambria is divided into two main areas, one which is the area around Moonstone Beach and the other, the town proper, which is a bit spread out with 2 different centers. The hotel was on the edge of one of the town centers. Shops tend to close at 5 or 6, so I really appreciated happy hour at the hotel--especially our concierge for the first night (I didn't catch her name but there were only two, her and a man). She was so efficient and helpful, made excellent drinks, and just created a really fun and relaxed atmosphere. The room where we stayed was clean, pet-friendly and big enough for the whole family, including the kids and grandma; coffee, tea, and other essentials were freely provided. The only problem we saw was with maintenance: there was mold of the window sill, and there was a gap between wood slats on the floor.

It’s a lovely hotel situated in the heart of the village with very friendly staff. Evening drinks and appetizers and a kitchen stocked with coffee, teas and microwave popcorn. The room was very large but definitely needed a deep cleaning of the carpeting, tub grout, etc. Window shades and drapes both needed repairs.

We have family in Cambria and stay at the Rigdon House 80% of the time when visiting. Its a quaint B&B type hotel, quietly tucked in a corner off main street, so its within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We've stayed there 6x the past 2+ years and love it. The staff is friendly and attentive. That said, the rooms are becoming a little outdated and in need of an upgrade. The beds are a little too soft and the furniture is wearing out and becoming uncomfortable. Our shower barely had enough water pressure to completely rinse after soap and shampoo. And one of our bathroom sinks was clogged and drained slowly. Mind you, it didn't ruin our stay (the room was clean and attended to daily) but its a bit like your own home that hasn't been painted or upgraded the past 20-years. Sooner or later, everything wears out and you need to invest to upgrade. We still recommend staying there as the rates are very competitive compared to other options close by.

My friend and I visited Cambria to take in the sights at the Fiscalini Ranch and to tour the lighthouse. We stayed two nights. What we liked about our room, #16. Very spacious - comfortable beds - handy microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and a small drip coffee maker. The hotel is in a nice location and we enjoyed the courtyard that backs up to a serene green space. What we didn’t like - furniture in sitting room looked like thrift store finds and there were no chairs as were shown in the room photos. Room was very dark unlike the room photo. Being on the bottom floor we could hear the footsteps/noises from our upstairs neighbors. There was only one person in attendance the whole time we were there and he leaves the premises at nine p.m. so there’s no one on duty. Many times when we went to the lobby area there was no one present. Never stayed at a hotel where there was no one on night duty.

The Rigdon House is a quaint, older hotel located in the heart of downtown. My wife and I love staying due to its close proximity to all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. The maid service is excellent. We have stayed there 8 times in the past 5-years. Our only, and continued request, is they continue to update the rooms and provide better water pressure for the showers. I understand water conservation and the need to put restrictors on the heads but the amount of water that trickles out is ridiculous, requiring extended time to completely rinse. Still, The Rigdon House is a great value for the price, and I continue to recommend it to others

Great location and very cool historic property. I stayed in the addition from the 1970’s which didn’t have a lot of charm but it was a very big suite. Cambria is a lovely little town on the coast near so many amazing things to do. Happy hour is a nice touch by this property… outdated and run down, old TV’s but very unique and fun drip coffee maker in the room.

Enjoyed the room, although would not have booked the hotel knowing that there's really not someone at the front desk but rather someone who comes and goes along with no phones in the room and poor TV. Next stay would be the beach or Cambria Pine Lodge 100%.

The desk clerk was very rude and not helpful. He freaking put his hand in my face and said, ‘ Do you want the room or not?’ I told him he needed to get out of my space. We had driven for about 5 hours and there wasn’t another room in town. We had 4 disabled seniors with us and we requested a ground floor room when making the reservation. He had one available but was holding it for someone who hadn’t arrived. He put us on the second floor which entailed walking up a steep flight of stairs. I don’t know how we managed but we had to. Not a pleasant experience.

This is one of the nicest Inns we have ever stayed at. The rooms are HUGE and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect. Very quiet and private. Coffee available in your room and in the morning room. 2 hour happy hour each evening from 5-7 with a delicious fresh baked gourmet flatbread. An incredible value with their reasonable pricing. Can't recommend them highly enough!
