SF Central Hotel

It was fine. For the what we paid, it was what we expected. Location is great. Had to pay extra $20 for parking I was not aware of.

Poor internet connection

One of the cheapest options in this area of the city. You get what you pay for. No frills, a bed to sleep in and parking, which is a huge plus.

I do not recommend anybody to stay at this hotel because it is false advertisement. The hotel information states there is free parking for its guest and once arriving they want to charge you $25 to park your car. They mentioned that if I did not pay the fee they would tow my car away. Additionally, there is a-lot of noise from guest next door that were screaming. There were alot of homeless in the parking lot peaking into cars & in the contract they state they are not responsible if something happens to your car parked in their property. They don’t even have a security to kick them out. The check in lady was very passive aggressive for no reason aswell & didn’t activate my keys for my room after stating she did with her eyes rolling at me. I came to San Fran to vacation and left very upset with this experience.

SF Central is a high-value and low-cost hotel. It is very convenient being near the corner of Market St. The shower and bed were excellent. It had a small desk to work on and a frig and microwave. Yes, the paint is chipped and the furnishings are old but it offers excellent value for the price.

Wifi is horrible does not work.

Over priced for no amenities and unsecured parking

The stay was average. Good parking for a fee. Walkable to verity of food location.

The hotel is okay at best. The room I was assign to had a very sketchy door, you can tell it has been forced open a couple of time. The interior lighting was really dim with yellow light bulbs. For the price you get a mini fridge, microwave and a decent A/C unit. I would recommend if you are in a budget.

The worst hotel I have EVER stayed in my life ! The front desk was rude , unhelpful. The room was dirty : small blood stains in the sheets , the bed site lamp was broken , the A/C Heat was broken …the curtains were broken! everything was so BAD. I left after the 1st night ! And I never got a rerund!!!!!!

Disgusting Hotel – Not Worth a Single Night The moment we pulled up, we knew something was off. The area felt sketchy, the kind of place that makes you keep an eye over your shoulder. But we had a reservation, so we gave it a shot—big mistake. The first room we got smacked us in the face with a strong cigarette smell and musty air, like it hadn’t been aired out in years. The floors were sticky, either from too many cleaning chemicals or something worse we didn’t want to think about. Breathing in there felt wrong. We asked for another room, hoping for at least a small improvement, but it was just as bad—same nasty smell, same uncomfortable vibe. We sat there for about 20 minutes trying to convince ourselves to stay, but the more we looked around, the clearer it became: no way were we sleeping there. Instead of wasting a night in that mess, we packed up and drove all the way back home to San Jose. This place is dirty, smelly, and just straight-up unpleasant. No deal or discount would make it worth it. If you care at all about safety and cleanliness, do yourself a favor—stay somewhere else.

The front desk staff were great, no complaints. The place looks so dirty and run down that I had to place a towel on the shower floor inside the shower before taking one. There was a bit of blood near the peep hole on the door. The first room I was in had no working toilet. The second room had obvious water damage to the ceiling and the room smelled like it. When turning on the heater it smelled horrible. Curtains had not been cleaned in who knows how long. The list could go on but like I said staff were great. The room… you get what you pay for I guess.

The property is aged and the room was noisy. The floor in the guest room floors were absolutely filthy.

Not the best stay, the bathroom wasn’t clean, the neighbours were very noisy all through the night, next door and above, so didn’t get any sleep. Bathroom door didn’t shut because it was so warped. Ants in the room.

The pics on the app aren’t accurate with the real property. The room was dirty and no towels there. Plus it smells like humidity. They said the parking was included with the reservation but when you there you have to pay an extra $25 per night. The sheets had blood stains and floor were super dirty. There was a creepy sound during the night. Front desk aren’t professional enough. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

This place is a filthy dirty crime ridden property. Do not stay there under any circumstance.

It was dirty

Very central location, walking distance to most of the sights. The room I had was very dark and because the only window was right at the stairs where people came up to the second floor I had to have the curtains closed all the time. There was a refrigerator in the room which was awesome but it was very loud. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was very nice, the reception staff could have been nice and more serviceminded

Was super dirty and the door shined light from underneath it. The AC didn’t work either.

When I arrived only 1 hotel key worked, bathroom door didn’t lock, bathroom window was busted and didn’t close all the way, the couch arm was missing a huge chunk of it, paint peeling off walls and this wasn’t the worse. The towels appeared unclean with brown stains, sheets unclean and there were metal bars outside of the windows. When I went to microwave my food I thought there was a huge piece of beef jerkey inside only to find it was the back of the microwave peeling off the wall of the inside of microwave. The walls are very thin with loud screaming and banging all night. Couldn’t tell if someone was doing laundry or if a 2 year old was running around all night. The curtains were unclean, shower water barely warm, used bar of soap and no clog for tub. Signs hanging around this motel to lock car and not keep high possessions in view. Charged me $25 for parking and there was no security. Tents lined up across the road, marijuana odor lingering all around this place. “Gotham city motel” appearance. This was an emergency motel and I will never return. The sad part is the I apparently rented the suite? The city needs to be called and this place needs to be investigated. Unsafe, unhealthy and needs to seriously be closed. Very very dirty.

When I checked in, my room was downgraded because they are listing rooms that are not actually available online. Additionally, the photos online are for a different, nearby building, not for this hotel. Most concerning, there was NO LOCK ON THE WINDOW, which went directly out onto the parking lot and the window could be opened from the outside at any time. I tried to resolve this with Expedia's customer service team but was unable to get anywhere because the hotel team refused to take Expedia's calls. Unless you have to, do not stay here.

I was pleasantly surprised overall. The room was nicely redone and clean. The restroom although didn’t match the room as it was outdated. Overall I’d stay here again.

Inside the room was nice, clean and comfortable. Initial service was terrible. Took at least 45 minutes to get checked in through the night window when it wasn’t even night time. Thought the night it sounded like a cart was rolling acrossed the roof. Funny thing is we were on the top floor. If they sound proof the rooms then I’ll consider coming back to this hotel.

I would recommend staying here again to any of my friends from out of town who need a good location in the center of the city to rest for the night and still have a few bucks to afford a decent breakfast in the morning.

People strung out in the parking lot, very loud, not a good area. Lobby closed, checked in through night drop window, rude attendant and ignoring other guests. Overall terrible experience. Would not recommend

Rude night staff who checked me in… dirty room, non-functioning tv, and the bathroom was crawling with ants. Avoid this place like the plague. Never again.

This Property is in a great location but it is definitely a street hotel. It is $79 for a reason. The room was clean and bug free. I felt it was reasonably safe, though others may have a different opinion. No bullets came through the wall. There is a Sandwich Shop / Laundromat right across the street which is very handy. It was a great place to spend 2 days in between shows and get clothes washed and hair cut in preparation for the next show. If you are not a seasoned traveler this may not be the place for you.

It is centrally located and close to homeless area. Not necessarily unsafe, but busy area. On the upside, it’s close to restaurants and the Castro District. It’s convenient and close to public transportation.

Great staff, lots of parking. Area around the hotel is a little worrisome at night. Comfortable bed, room is out dated but basic.

Overall the room was clean , bed comfortable , great shower . The hotel is located just across the road from a train stop which meant getting everywhere a breeze . It’s located on the otherside of tenderloin so there is some homeless but we never had an issues with them. Only downside was it’s abit noisy , could hear everything from other rooms ( we were on level 2 ) maybe leave 3 would be better . For the price though the hotel is great

the location is very convenient both for getting around walking and by public transport (there are many scooters in the area and the Muni F stop). It is located halfway between Soma, Castro and civic center. what leaves something to be desired is the frequenting of the surrounding area, but given the price I would say it is more than good. furthermore the room is equipped with a fridge and microwave and there is a market right in front.

This hotel was honestly great, but the downfall is the location. Lots of homeless people loitering in the parking lot, disturbing the lobby, etc. We ended up having a much more peaceful night than we’d expected to have upon arrival, and the location of the hotel itself is very central and easy to get anywhere in the city. Loved that I didn’t have to worry about parking either. As long as you don’t leave any valuables in your vehicle, you shouldn’t have any issues, but it’s a vibe that is definitely unsettling.

The staff were unfriendly, no breakfast, people above us were extremely noisy, the area is unsafe, they gave us one bed short and when requested one we were told to wait for the manager the next day resulting in one of us sleeping on the floor! Will never stay here again! If you do decide to stay here one night is more than enough!

The building is pretty old. You can hear what your neighbors are doing. The front deck agent were very helpful, informative and friendly. It feels like a sketchy street. Had to look behind my back a lot. A lot of convenience stores and restaurants near by. Catching public transportation isn’t an issue there.

The girl at the desk was politely and fast to do my check in. I asked for a pizza place and was able to give me a fast answer.
