High quality service and security inside the hotel. They lock the doors after 11pm so only hotel guests can get in with a key. Hotel staff are very friendly. Free breakfast in the morning, comfortable beds, and very accommodating. I have stayed here a few times now and would definitely recommend to friends.

Secure and clean hotel with courteous staff. Excellent breakfast each morning. Only downside was some elevator repair work during our stay. But at least they were maintaining the property.

Did not like how it said parking available as one of the amenities thinking that it was going to be included with the room, but they only have valet so you have to either pay like $70.00 per night or pay $40.00 at another garage and risk your car getting broken into or just vandalized

Outside of the property there is no parking. And no safe parking surrounding the hotel. The only lot is a fenced uncovered lot in the alley behind the hotel. There is a large tent city and dozens upon dozens of unhoused people on the street and alley surrounding the hotel. I felt extremely unsafe traveling on my own as a female with 3 children. The valet option was $65 but I took it because there was no way I would park my car and walk through the area to get to the hotel. The interior of the hotel was beautiful, upscale and clean. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. I would stay here all the time if the surrounding area and parking situation were safer. The rooms were nice, clean and modern. Unfortunately the sidewalk and street area surrounding are suffering. I understand this is not the hotel’s fault but I wouldn’t recommend this for single women or for families with children. It was very anxiety ridden trying to check in with bags, kids, and no parking.

The inside of the property was ok, hallways looked a bit worn but the rooms were clean, no view at all, breakfast was very basic, cereals, bagels/toast, and some hot eggs.bacon. etc. I stayed with coffee, the kids and wife declined. Around the property unfortunately lots of homeless everywhere, smells of urine and cannibis, making it less desirable to stay in the area. It seems to be a SF problem particularly bad in some parts of downtown.

Hampton inn has always been my go to hotels for traveling to competitions with my daughter until I came to this one. The area it’s is is not safe any more but more importantly that room was not clean: the bed had a giant stain and when I asked for another room I was told there were none available, we checked out and went somewhere else. And next day I discovered that I was charged for the night and had to call and convince the agent to refund that charge very very sad experience

We were safe inside the hotel, but the sidewalks on all sides were covered with homeless and loud violent people (worse than downtown San Diego where I live). Room was clean. TV remote had caked up dirt between the buttons. Fridge didn’t work. The replacement they brought also didn’t work. The heater was so loud it made sleeping difficult. Breakfast both days was good. The rooftop sitting area had a cool view around the area without being close to the crime.

Honestly the hotel wasn't terrible but i didn't feel clean in it. I knew the room was going to be small, though it was a bit to small for me. The minute my friend and I walked it we looked around the bed and floors, the cornere of the bed had hair and the floors were very dirty. It doesn't seem like they swept or mopped the floors at all, I felt so uncomfortable with that I walked around the room and slept with my socks on. The cabinet to the refrigerator door was broken too. Other than that the stay was too too bad

Stayed here recently and had a great experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Union Square, Moscone Center, and public transit. The hotel was nice overall, but the room was so small that they didn’t even try to fit a desk - not convenient for business travelers. The surrounding area was frightening, with junkies milling about and dancing, high in the alleyways near the hotel. I would not recommend that women traveling alone, or others that don’t feel comfortable potentially needing to defend themselves, stay here.

City view room I paid for was a view of an interior wall of hotel. Not sure if I missed information about parking but it was $65 a night plus $9 tax. Not really any other options. Staff was nice.

The hotel and staff are wonderful. The room was clean, and they let me check my luggage for several hours before check-in & after check-out. I was abpe to gp enjoy the city, eat food, go to the zoo, and kill time between checks & airport times. The only negative is that it is in the center of the infamous Tenderloin. Coming back late at night was scary because there would be people fent-leaning or high & ranting/screaming right outside the front entrance. This is not the fault of the hotel though, just something to be aware of. Love the roof top for smoking.

Overall, I found the accommodations to be quite nice. However, there were a few areas that I believe could be improved. The main issue was the lack of proper ventilation throughout the hotel. The environment felt particularly humid and hot, especially in the breakfast area, which had no air conditioning. This made for an uncomfortable start to the day. Additionally, I was surprised to find that parking was not included with the hotel stay. The valet parking option, while available, was quite expensive and added a significant cost to my visit.

The room was small, the view was of a crack alley where I was able to see individuals screaming all night, getting high, and lots of police activity throughout my stay. While inside, I called to see if I could get toothpaste and was told I had to come down from the 10th floor to get it. I quickly put my tip away since the front desk didn't even bother to offer room service. It felt so unsafe stepping out of the hotel. I came back from my meeting at around 7:30pm and had to rush in as a drug user threw a bottle at the wall right after I crossed him. There seem to be no outdoor security of any kind, leaving guest to fend for themselves as they walked in. I did not feel safe during my stay.

Elevator was BROKEN for my entire stay (4 nights) and the hotel did NOTHING. Very cavalier staff and no communication. The manager left no one in charge and never checked in. An awful experience.

Loved this hotel. Now, it is between a rough area and the nice side of the city. If you decide to walk, go into the direction of the higher buildings. The room was really comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again!

Convenient to the Moscone Center, good breakfast served 6-10 AM. Desk personnel friendly. Security system in place so that one needs the room card to enter the building and to go to any guest floor. It seemed safe on the streets at night, though San Francisco has gotten some bad press about theft at stores, and several stores were unoccupied. Close to Chinatown and good places to eat. Would chose it again.

I stayed in San Francisco so that I could attend the Milwaukee Brewers versus Oakland A’s baseball games. The hotel was not a problem. But the area around the hotel was very sketchy. There is no on-site parking. You have to park In a public parking ramp, that is a block away. I was only a few blocks away from Powell/Market area, But to Walk to this area, was approximately five blocks away, and there were many homeless people who are panhandling on the way. The area outside the hotel had a strong stench of urine. Also amazed at how many buildings around the hotel were boarded up.

Hotel was at a great location for the concert we were attending. But, the location was not the best. A lot of homeless all over the place. Parking was ok. We ended self parking at a parking garage half a block away. The room was clean but really small. Breakfast was excellent though.

Pros: The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well. Complimentary breakfast buffet had many options. Staff were courteous and responsive. Valet parking was efficient. Cons: Breakfast room was uncomfortably HOT. Some maintenance/repair needs were noted in the room but were minor. Neighborhood around hotel is diverse; go one direction and there are restaurants, museums, mid-high end shops BUT if you go the other way, there are many homeless people, some actively using drugs on the street in broad daylight. Advice from hotel staff was DO NOT engage...just keep walking. Ultimately, I would stay at this hotel again.

I like how big the room was. It was clean, they changed our sheets once which was great. On the arrival, the first person that greeted us at the front desk wasn’t very nice, but the rest of the staff was very helpful and more receptive when we had questions. There is no parking in this hotel, They offer Valet instead, it’s $65 overnight. Breakfast is included, loved the options. You have fruits, waffles, yogurt, eggs, potatoes, sausages, coffee & teas. Only suggestion is to add AC in this room. The fans weren’t enough. The area is full of homeless, at the beginning it was scary, but then you realize that they don’t represent any harm and they are only in this area, simply don’t look at them & keep walking. Bay Area and other neighborhoods are completely homeless free. Loooved SF. Amazing city!!

Everything was amazing…..except the bed. The linens were comfortable and clean, but the mattress was not that comfortable at all. They need to replace the mattresses in each room. Otherwise they offer more than the Hyatt down the street we stayed at and the staff was 100% better than the Hyatt Place excluding the bartender at the Hyatt. He was the only staff member that showed amazing customer service. The Hampton Inn has a delicious breakfast with hot/cold and fresh food! They also have reasonable prices for valet and when you use the valet you still have 24/7 access to your vehicle. We would stay again.

Other reviewers complained about the homeless but the hotel is just inside the safe boundary, so it was fine. It was quiet at night, never heard any noises. Bathroom was spectacular. Living area was small and kind of plain, but clean. Breakfast was better than average and staff respectful.
