Great location, but if they want to pair it up with the best golf course in Eastern WA, they need an outdoor hot tub. I've been going there for years, but thinking about other hotels that have hot tubs. BTW, if you're into golf, don't miss out on Wine Valley. They just had a US Open qualifier event at the course, much better and cheaper than Gamble Sands.

Over all the experience was good. However, the elevator broke immediately after we arrived and remained such until we left. We were on the 4th floor with a geriatric golden retriever and had a heck of a time getting her up and down the stairs. When we asked for a room on a lower floor, they were not able to assist us with a different floor so we had to muscle through it with the stairs.

The property was nice, but seemed understaffed. The check in process was long and inefficient. We were not able to access the hotel WiFi in the west wing. The lobby bathrooms were not serviced each day and were out of toilet paper. The lobby bathrooms are also accessible to people who are unhoused. Parking is in an open, unprotected lot, so be sure not to leave any visible possessions in the car. We had pleasant experiences at the Marc restaurant and would recommend. Overall, for the price, I expected a seamless experiences, and our stay fell short of that.

The interior is simply stunning. And we loved the restaurant and the attached wine tasting rooms. Plus, almost everything worth seeing in the downtown area is easily in walking distance. The hotel has plenty of parking. 10/10--will stay here again!

I love that they had pour over Coffee and Carr in our room. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The lighting was incredibly dim, even with all the lights on. It was hard to see. But the room was well appointed I love to work out when I’m traveling and the workout room was nice but a little outdated with a need of mats for anything on a rug. And matching weights under 15 didn’t exist. Restaurant was nice as well! And it’s nice that they have some small tasting rooms associated with it. Everybody was very pleasant. And friendly and helpful.

Great service from check-in to check-out. Facilities are in good shape, with a new owner and planned renovations to update the decor. West wing rooms are more standard motel style BUT unlike some other local hotels of the same age, everything was in great shape. My one caution is to plan ahead, for parking, as the lots are by nature tight and heavily used by "wine tourists" coming to Walla Walla downtown. I love being in the middle of town, so it suited me just fine. If you are mobility challenged you might have some issues, I did not ask for help, so it may exist there. The majority of people are of the Wine tour crowd and expect to walk.

We liked the place very much, except for two things. First, there was a lot of construction going on in our wing. That, coupled with the fact that there is only one elevator in the west wing, meant that it was tough to get an elevator. We took stairs a lot. The designers of the new wing choose to put in a single elevator for probably 80 guest rooms (guessing), housekeeping and utility use. Bad choice. Also, the room in the new wing was rather small... a standard featureless USA modern hotel room. But the main lobby is beautiful and the people were very nice. Great location too. We like Walla Walla.

The front desk staff was very helpful. Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing we were disappointed about was that we requested a room on a high floor with a view and were given a room on the 6th floor overlooking the gas station. One other thing to note is that the area where the soap dispensers are in the shower had mold on top of it.

I had high hopes for the Marcus Whitman Hotel given its reputation and historic charm, but unfortunately, my stay left much to be desired. While the property boasts a grand lobby and a central location in Walla Walla and this was accurate, the actual accommodations were underwhelming. The room felt dated and lacked the freshness and attention to detail you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. The biggest issues, however, were cleanliness and air quality. There were a few ants in the room and no cleaning service on Saturday’s. Even worse, there was a lingering smoke smell that permeated the space and clung to my clothes, despite being in a non-smoking room. It was off-putting and gave the impression that the room hadn’t been properly aired out or deep cleaned in some time. Overall, while the historic allure of the hotel is still there, the experience didn’t live up to expectations.

We stayed in the west wing which has not been renovated recently. It’s loud, the beds sink and the lighting is poor in the rooms. We heard toilets flush in the rooms nearby, we heard the elevator dinging and loud voices in the hall. The beds were very soft and our backs hurt in the morning. It’s a convenient location and our experience may have been different if we had stayed in the tower. However, we had our kids with us so we needed a double queen room.

For the price, this hotel was beautiful in the lobby, perfect location but the room was just so so. The beds were comfortable but the sheets came off the mattress easily. The bathrooms are inexcusably small after a five year remodel. Our check in and check out was very nice, but the people who stayed there were very unfriendly.

Convenient location in downtown Walla Walla. Easy drive to many vineyards. Hotel is vintage but in need of a refresh that is in keeping with its character. The rooms are spacious. Room temperature control is lacking. The bathrooms are old, not updated and tiny. The staff throughout the hotel are helpful and polite. The reception staff are efficient but too rigid and unbending when treating a customer with hotel status.

They charge $25 additional per day for our “room amenities” which I found absurd. On top of that, the walls were so thin we were kept awake most of the night (until 3 am!) due to two ladies next door who were obviously enjoying their bachelorette weekend and talking and talking and talking. We paid for two nights but left the next day not staying the 2nd night because we needed a good night sleep.

Wonderful part of Walla Walla history in the Marcus Whitman hotel. Classy but not snobby. All the staff are very helpful! Two ladies at the front desk at check in and check out were lovely. Claire and Therese were perfect people to greet us. Walking distance to so much! Four tasting rooms attached to the hotel. The restaurant was yummy both for breakfast and dinner. Our first visit to Walla Walla and the Marcus Whitman but not our last. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The staff is the reason I come back. Emma and Theresa took very good care of my stay. They handled everything with ease. They have great recommendations and treat you like family. The rooms are above standards and worth every penny. Always clean, wonderful beds and great showers. Do not pass up on the Marcus Whitman. Book a room immediately or you’ll end up regretting it.

We stayed there in 2024 and had terrible service from front desk to the bar and restaurant. This visit 5/25 it was back to the old Marcus Whitman- Great Hospitality on the phone and at the front desk. Fantastic service in the bar and restaurant. Our only issues are 1) the bathrooms are tiny! 2) being put in a room across from the very noisy elevator! .

The Whitman charges a premium compared to the other hotels in the area and the Whitman is a very nice property. We were there for a two night stay. As we left the property the first morning I asked if housekeeping was provided every day. I was told that it was not provided every day unless I asked for it. So, I asked for it. Returned to the room at 5pm and no housekeeping. Housekeeper showed up at 6-ish. This is unacceptable. If you are not going to offer housekeeping you should tell me when I made the reservation. You had no problem telling me I'm paying $23 per night for an amenity fee. Once I requested the service, it should have been provided in a more timely manner. Nice hotel. Breakfast service at the hotel is very nice

Hotel restaurant breakfast is very good as well as the bar menu. We enjoyed the extra space of a junior suite. Always enjoy staying here.

This property is the tallest and historical building in the town with a great location. Everything in the downtown is within walking distance. The restaurant, The Marc, is amazing. There is cafe as well as wine tasting rooms in this hotel.

We have stayed at the MW in the past. The rennovated lobby was handsome but very dark. We missed the complimentary breakfast that previously was included in your stay. The beds are very comfortable and rooms clean and tidy. It’s also so convenient to be within walking distance to wineries, shops and restaurants!

Staff is very friendly and helpful!! Breakfast is excellent. Our only issue was with the bar. Four of us stopped in for drinks before dinner on our first night. For years bar tenders have been trying to outdo each other with complicated drinks. Some work. Some don't. Most at the Marc didn't. One used pineapple in the first part of the description. None of us could taste any. We did not go back to the bar.

Really liked staying there. A little pricey for the room for what we got but we understand it’s a historical building and a historic hotel. Definitely need to make sure that they allow their guest to dine in the dining room with priority. We tried to get a reservation and we were told we didn’t need one and then when we did go down to eat, we were told it would be an hour and a half wait but there were plenty of tables available. A little disappointing, but we did enjoy the study. Cocktails were delicious.
