Arriving quite late at night but a couple of hours before pub closing time, we only expected a place for the night. So we were delighted to learn a lot of issues of local interest from the bar tender and had the best breakfast in our 20 day tour of Britain. The thickest carpet in all the years we have travelled in UK - is this where a lot of the local sheep had gone? A beautiful hotel indeed!

Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here.

The staff all gave the most amazing service, its the care to detail the little extra that stands out. I could not find anything to complain about. The evening menu (££££) looked amazing, however I was not wanting a rich meal . So they let me order a sandwich. My husband enjoyed the fish pie. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent quality with plenty of choice.
