This property was beautiful!! Direct beach access, friendly staff, the condos themselves are beautiful. I never had an issue finding parking, and the whaler provides carts so you can load up your groceries. The whaler shopping center is right there, along with lots of restaurants.

Property very well maintained. Right on the beach. Housekeeping every 4th day. Must call for every single thing because everything is tip based. Front desk has nothing. Some guests save pool chairs all day even though not at the pool. Staff does not enforce their 30 minute chair rule. That said, good rooms, excellent location/view.

Eleven family members gathered at the Aston Whaler for my 80th in an array of condos. Each one was beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. Our Oceanfront One Bedroom was amazingly spacious, able to seat all 11 for several meals with huge balconies and stunning views. Incredibly convenient yet quiet next to Whaler's Village with many restaurants, a small market and shops. Snorkeling beaches were easily accessible by Uber. All enjoyed the pool, gym and yoga on the lawn plus running and walking path along the beachfront. The staff was exceptionally charming and attentive. Highly highly recommend!

Nice in general! Great location and quiet. Confortable and well equipped studio! Pool needs to be bigger and prettier!!!!! The place deserves a much prettier pool!!! I hope they improve on that!!!

They put us in a room right next door to a room that had construction going on. Sounded like a jackhammer; very loud and disturbing. The front desk personnel could do nothing about it. It seems that the Aston management is really messed up.

This place was fantastic. It's not a resort property and there are no on-site restaurants or anything but there is plenty nearby and it has a full kitchen. We actually liked the fact that it's more apartment living than hotel. Access to the beach is great, the room was very very nice and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to before too long.

Recently retired couple just returned from 9 days at Aston at The Whaler in mid February. Loved it. We had a one bedroom studio which was nice as we made breakfast and a couple of dinners at the unit. BBQ units at both buildings are new and really nice. We booked through Expedia and recd a recently upgraded unit and it was really nice. Property is exceptionally well maintained and staff were really nice and helpful top to bottom. Free laundry on each floor which we used one time during our stay. Location on Kaanapali beach right next to Whalers Village is perfect - tons of dining and cocktail options and many shops if you go to Hawaii and forget to pack a bathing suit (I’ll be hearing about that forever, oops). Underground parking is really handy and overflow parking is avail right next door if underground gets full - didn’t happen to us but got close a couple times. We really liked the Whaler and plan to book it again next year at same time. Whole activity is awesome at that time. We go everywhere in the Caribbean but Hawaii is a notch above Carib in our opinion. Looong flight from East Coast US but worth the effort.

Excellent location to the best beach, shopping, dinning. Much older crowd resides/rents condos. Rental beach chairs are $50/wk each however they have chairs to use at that beach which was not explained to us. Overall perfect location for beach. Small pool and hot tub.

The property was walking distance to the beach. Whalers Village was next door for dining and shopping. The pool and property outside was clean. Our room was dated, dirty and the vents were caked full of dust. The bed was uneven and the pillows were smelly. The first morning we found a roach crawling in the bathroom. I texted the property and got a generic response. We ran out of towels and requested clean towels and put the maid service sign up for 2 days in a row and on the second day someone finally cleaned after we complained to the front desk. They only cleaned our room one time during our 7 day stay and brought us clean towels once. They said the policy was to clean every 4 days which may be why there were bugs. We put the maid service sign up the last 2 days we were there and no one cleaned or brought by clean towels. I know hotels sometimes only clean every other day but only once during a week stay was not enough.

The unit we stayed in was quite dated. The carpet felt damp and the sleeper couch needs to be replaced. The whole vibe was very Golden Girls. We saw quite a few different kinds of bugs in our rooms during our stay too which was totally gross. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking but we weren't in the position to use it. Really enjoyed our private garden view balcony. I was thankful that the bathrooms were stocked with shampoo/conditioner, body soap and lotion. Huge amount of closet space which is nice. There is a hidden daily fee which you will pay upon departure - a $33 amenity fee so make sure to do your laundry since it's "free." There is a laundry room on each floor. Our unit provided two boxes of Tide soap. Overall, the grounds are beautiful and well cared for. In the morning hours there is free coffee and in the afternoon, iced tea in the lobby. Instead of having as many towels as you want for the beach, you receive pool cards and turn those in for towels. Kind of confusing but I'm sure it's to keep the towels from being lost/taken. Pool/hot tub was okay, but we focused our time at the beach instead. I'm not sure I would stay here again - the front desk staff was friendly enough but not over the top. Easy to overlook some of the negatives when you are paradise! Whaler's Village is a short walk away and there are several food options but get ready - everything in Maui is very expensive!

Having our own kitchen and very large balcony was true luxury. The communication with the Aston staff as well as the staff at the front desk and the concierge were all exceptional. It was very helpful having a grocery store close by and walkable restaurant and shopping options. The beach access was exceptional with amazing water for swimming for children and families alike. We were able to schedule a photo shoot for our family on the premises and had amazing results. It was extremely easy to get towels for the pool, the beach and all of our offsite excursions. Our apartment was beautiful, clean, spacious, and we had plenty of towels and clean linens and just absolutely loved everything about our stay. It truly felt like a home away from home except with paradise outside our front door.

Good view and convince but the pillows and blankets are smelly. I took a look at the pillow inside the pillow case and found the pillows are pretty unpleasant. Blankets between the sheets are smelly. It took me a while to find where the unpleasant smells come from. I have been in hotels world wide and this is the first time I had this. I checked in the next hotel then I quickly checked the pillows there and luckily they look like new. I don't know this place runs by a hotel or a third party. They really have to keep up with the basic standards. Hopefully next guest don't have to experience what I had.

Everything was great! We were greeted with a warm welcome in front of the office soon as we got out of our car. Condo was excellent and in a good location. Very clean. The welcome basket was much appreciated. The activities person was very helpful. Beach and view were great.

This property is beautifully maintained with golf-course-like grass and colorful flowers. The receptionists are all warm and helpful. Location is very conveniently situated between Whaler villages and other beaches. The bathroom shower ceiling was opened and revealed the dusty vents which was not a site I wanted to see but nonetheless the room was clean and tidy!

Our first room had an issue with the hot/cold water in our bathroom and the bed was a bit wonky. We ended up changing rooms and the Hotel was VERY accommodating. Our second room was very nice and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The Hotel did everything to make our stay comfortable and a good experience. The Hotel is in a good location to the beach and shops.

We had a great stay. Only complaint was our room was right by Whalers Village side which was very noisy in the early am. Other than that the amenities were great, people were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.
We had a great stay. Only complaint was our room was right by Whalers Village side which was very noisy in the early am. Other than that the amenities were great, people were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.

Having our own kitchen and very large balcony was true luxury. The communication with the Aston staff as well as the staff at the front desk and the concierge were all exceptional. It was very helpful having a grocery store close by and walkable restaurant and shopping options. The beach access was exceptional with amazing water for swimming for children and families alike. We were able to schedule a photo shoot for our family on the premises and had amazing results. It was extremely easy to get towels for the pool, the beach and all of our offsite excursions. Our apartment was beautiful, clean, spacious, and we had plenty of towels and clean linens and just absolutely loved everything about our stay. It truly felt like a home away from home except with paradise outside our front door.

Comfortable bed. We paid to upgrade our room to ocean view. Our room faced the rear shopping center. Partial ocean view, partial mountain views but... Very Loud Commercial Air Conditioners could be heard from 6th floor balcony all night. Kitchenette in condo was convenient. Room decor was old /dated. Kitchenette was dated. We did not like resort fee of $177 for only 4 days (not included on package price) . Spa was broken on first day and then very packed with people incl kids rest of days. Pool area always busy with loud kids/adults. It was nice to walk to nearby Hotel/Resorts for coffee. Hotel was right on the beach but December storm weather made it unsafe to swim. Several expensive restaurants are within walking distance. Our flight with Hawaiin Air was cancelled on our last day of stay. Front staff was not helpful in finding or suggesting a new place to spend an extra night. They didn't even check to see if it was possible to stay.They seemed confused or didn't appear to care even though our flight was rescheduled to next day. Even though Hawaiin Air cancelled flight due to weather, other airlines were still flying during same time as our 3 PM flight with clear blue skies at airport. Plan to drive at least 45 mins to this hotel from Airport - or even longer commute when there are traffic delays as there is only one road two-way (single lane) as you head east towards Airport. At arrival the staff in the lobby were expecting me and were very nice. I was very happy with my room at the Whaler. It was on the twelfth floor overlooking Whaler village a points south. The room was clean, well appointed and professionally decorated. I requested furniture for the lanai to the Aston service team and the response exceeded my expectations. Well qqdone.

I was under the impression that we had reserved a room at a 4-star hotel, but we realized that some units/rooms in this complex are personally owned and rented out by their owners. If you need something like new towels or coffee, you must contact a provided number directly. Unfortunately, the front desk staff were not very friendly and helpful. When you ask for something for your room, they refuse and tell you to contact that number. Although we had arranged a late checkout the day before, they blocked our access to our room after 11 AM. When I reached out to the front desk, the lady was very disrespectful. After making me wait for a long time and contacting her manager, she fixed the issue without apologizing. The room was very old, and the amenities were outdated. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel. For a $500+ room, you deserve a better place. Good things: The view was great, and the access to the beach was good.

Everything was great! We were greeted with a warm welcome in front of the office soon as we got out of our car. Condo was excellent and in a good location. Very clean. The welcome basket was much appreciated. The activities person was very helpful. Beach and view were great.

This property’s biggest draw is its proximity to a beautiful beach and whalers village. Otherwise, it is bare bones. There wasn’t house keeping, we had to request towels and bedding and they often didn’t come, umbrellas and chairs were an extra fee. And doing the is through the Aston (whatever that means) essentially meant the front desk couldn’t help us ever. I don’t think this place was worth the price and frankly I’m surprised they have such high ratings. Go somewhere with more amenities and better hospitality.

Recently retired couple just returned from 9 days at Aston at The Whaler in mid February. Loved it. We had a one bedroom studio which was nice as we made breakfast and a couple of dinners at the unit. BBQ units at both buildings are new and really nice. We booked through Expedia and recd a recently upgraded unit and it was really nice. Property is exceptionally well maintained and staff were really nice and helpful top to bottom. Free laundry on each floor which we used one time during our stay. Location on Kaanapali beach right next to Whalers Village is perfect - tons of dining and cocktail options and many shops if you go to Hawaii and forget to pack a bathing suit (I’ll be hearing about that forever, oops). Underground parking is really handy and overflow parking is avail right next door if underground gets full - didn’t happen to us but got close a couple times. We really liked the Whaler and plan to book it again next year at same time. Whole activity is awesome at that time. We go everywhere in the Caribbean but Hawaii is a notch above Carib in our opinion. Looong flight from East Coast US but worth the effort.

Location location location! This is my favorite place to stay in Maui! This is my 3rd time staying here and 3rd visit to Maui. The condo is centrally located and next to the Whalers Village . Depending on which side of the hotel you're staying in, it overlooks the village which I like. I love sitting on the balcony and people watching. This condo is perfect and have all the amenities you want and need. It feels like home away from home. I love the full kitchen, self serve laundry unit (located by the elevator on each floor) and a trash shoot (also located by the elevator on each floor) and free underground parking. The beach is right in front of the hotel and a beach walk pathway which you can walk along the stretch of Kaanapali. The Whalers have plenty of shopping, dining, ABC store and a bus and ride share stop. Will definitely be staying here again !

The Aston at the Whaler was a great stay. We had a beautiful one room suite condo with full kitchen, witch we loved for our family. The premises were clean and beautiful and the beach in the front was amazing! Close to everything needed for dining and adventures.

Clean beach front property, friendly staffs, very convenient location right next to shops and restaurants. We love to walk along Kaanapali beach. Check out restaurants at Sheraton, Westin , Hyatt. Snorkeling is about 5 minutes walk on the beach and has nice shade.
Clean beach front property, friendly staffs, very convenient location right next to shops and restaurants. We love to walk along Kaanapali beach. Check out restaurants at Sheraton, Westin , Hyatt. Snorkeling is about 5 minutes walk on the beach and has nice shade.

This place was fantastic. It's not a resort property and there are no on-site restaurants or anything but there is plenty nearby and it has a full kitchen. We actually liked the fact that it's more apartment living than hotel. Access to the beach is great, the room was very very nice and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to before too long.

Recently retired couple just returned from 9 days at Aston at The Whaler in mid February. Loved it. We had a one bedroom studio which was nice as we made breakfast and a couple of dinners at the unit. BBQ units at both buildings are new and really nice. We booked through Expedia and recd a recently upgraded unit and it was really nice. Property is exceptionally well maintained and staff were really nice and helpful top to bottom. Free laundry on each floor which we used one time during our stay. Location on Kaanapali beach right next to Whalers Village is perfect - tons of dining and cocktail options and many shops if you go to Hawaii and forget to pack a bathing suit (I’ll be hearing about that forever, oops). Underground parking is really handy and overflow parking is avail right next door if underground gets full - didn’t happen to us but got close a couple times. We really liked the Whaler and plan to book it again next year at same time. Whole activity is awesome at that time. We go everywhere in the Caribbean but Hawaii is a notch above Carib in our opinion. Looong flight from East Coast US but worth the effort.

We picked this hotel for our son’s senior high school trip. The location is Amazing! The convenience to Whalers, restaurants and the ocean was excellent. We’ve walked by this hotel for so many years and finally booked here. Our room was renovated with contemporary decor. The pool was terrific and they had complementary chairs for the beach. The concierge was extremely accommodating and was able to easily accept our Instacart order.
