Perfect overnight stop. Extremely welcoming and accommodating. A member of staff moved her car so that I had a prime spot! Very helpful staff, breakfast was great and both was too much trouble. They’d installed portable air con because it was a very warm day and night. Room was tastefully decorated and the quality of the materials (fittings, tiles etc) was high.

Our first stay here with friends , but won’t be our last Will return with our pooch as also dog friendly. Very helpful and friendly Staff , rooms clean and comfortable, evening meal and breakfast both excellent. Great location for visiting various parts of north Yorkshire .

Just stayed at the hotel with our two little dogs, had a lovely time, great outdoor dining facilities and very quirky hotel. We loved it and will definitely go back again.

Absolutely loved out stay here. The bed was super comfortable, staff were friendly and efficient and as a bonus there was a snack box and fridge on the landing with biscuits and drinks etc in case you needed anything. Highly recommend 😁

Parking on site - easy walk to town and restaurants - good pub food. We had a large room on a shared patio seating area at the back of the hotel, which was quiet. Boroughbridge is a very pleasant town.

A lovely eccentric pub in a central location. We stayed in a deluxe room which as lovely and had lots of different little accessories which made it special. The outdoor igloo's were amazing where we had drinks and the food was also excellent. Overall a great one night stay which was good value for money

Lovely warm a welcoming pub with good selection of food and drink. The room and en-suite were very generously proportioned and the decoration was excellent. A few cobwebs had been missed that didn’t negatively impact on our stay.

Room was nicely decorated however it was a bit dusty and very warm! Air-conditioning unit was in the room but was far to loud to using during the night! We were also put off from using the bar and having breakfast as staff refused to take our Scottish notes. Our booking address was Scottish address so if they were not going to accept Scottish notes they could have given us a heads up!

The room were clean, comfortable and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was spotless with shower gel and shampoo provided and extra large fluffy bath sheets. A little warm due to excessive summer temperatures, however fans and air conditioning units were provided. Fresh milk and cold drinking water and ice was available at the bar which was a nice touch. We didn’t end up eating in the restaurant due to complicated dietary requirements, however everything looked delicious. Across the road is a lovely canal walk and the town itself has good shops and cafes.

We had a fabulous two days at the Grantham Arms, the property was clean, the staff were so friendly, helpful and could not do enough for us, plus the room was lovely. We booked the breakfast and this was amazing, cooked to perfection for us. We will definitely go there again.

It was a good hotel, we were visiting family in the area so was a nice base. We had stayed at other nearby hotels so wanted to try this one. It was okay for one night, we booked in for dinner. The menu is extremely limited for dietary requirements, with things listed as vegetarian that weren't and food didn't match description. We didn't book breakfast, again as similar wanted a much refresher breakfast rathan than a fry up. Gave 4 stars as was a lovely bed, very comfortable! The bathroom smelt quite damp after a shower, no window open. Didn't hear any noise from the pub. Overall good b&b for a night - would recommend the Crown though due to facilities/spa area.

Lovely pub & accommodation, the small room was big enough for us. Loved the little extra touches in the rooms. Good location. Brilliant powerful shower!! Quiet from downstairs but slamming doors from other guests disturbed us all weekend. Also water pipe noise continuously throughout the night. Lovely blinds but let light In & so not dark enough on a summer morning. Would love to stay again with earplugs & eyemask!

Really nice comfortable pub/ resteraunt. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, good selection of tasty food and drinks served in a very relaxing atmosphere. Luxury double room didn't dissapoint. Finding good accommodation on a budget is not easy in this part of Yorkshire.

I booked this room as the photo of the rooms on the website showed spacious amount of room . The room was small. Could hardly move, around the room, nothing like as advertised, just a box room.I guess we were taken for a ride. Booked for two days, left after one. Will not be going back! Get your booking photo changed to reflect the real rooms available.

My wife and I stayed at the Grantham Arms enroute to visit relatives, and it far outweighed our expectations. We got a nice warm welcome and the room was spacious and comfortable, and was warm and cosy. Cannot really fault it. The food was excellent, and service exceptional. Only minor drawback for me was the nearby road was noisy, but given it is quite rural there was no traffic overnight, so didn’t interrupt my sleep.

This is the 3rd year I have been to the Grantham Arms on business and it never disappoints. The room I had this time was by far the largest I have had here and was beautifully appointed with great facilities and very comfortable as well as quiet. Staff were their usual friendly and helpful selves, even though some were new faces from my last visit a year ago. Clearly it is a culture that they have there. Breakfast was beautiful as always. I had the full Yorkshire and it was all perfectly cooked and on a warm plate. Huge pot of tea that gave me 3 large cups full. Service was prompt and exemplary. The lady next to me had pancakes and I must admit I wondered if I may have to change to those next time, they looked amazing! How they provide this level of service and quality for the money I really don't know but I can guarantee that I will be back next year when I am seeing my clients again.

I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful place. Although I wasn’t expecting to stay over an hour away from York central and the king bus ride was exhausting… once I got there I fell in love with this small village and its people. Safe, quiet, clean and so very friendly. I was told wrong information about the bus when I tried to leave on Sunday (not their fault) Debbie was so very kind to drive me in her personal vehicle to the train station. I would go out of my way to visit again. Rob, Caroline, and Debbie along with the other staff have remarkable talent. I have to praise the chef Simon as well because everything came beautifully presented and the flavors were extraordinary. It’sa 5⭐️ place without the fussiness. It was my very favorite mistake on this trip and I can’t wait to visit again.

I stayed here before with no complaints, however, I booked a table for dinner and was rushed through, with my starter being served within 5 minutes of order, and the main course as soon as I finished the starter. I had sausages and mash for main, which was disappointing (plain mash, when mustard mash was on the menu, sausages which appeaered to be undercooked, and very salty gravy). When I bought my dis satisfaction to the attantion of the server, I was just told ' sorry about that' and then nothing more. I would definetley stay again for the great rooms, but would eat elswhere in the future.

Despite a couple of minor issues the staff were apologetic and immediately came up with a solution that we were impressed with. The food is great! And the rooms are lovely (amazing showers)!! We live staying here and will be back.

Very good and easy check in. As a coeliac they also catered very well with the pub having a gluten free beer and gluten free cereal option. Breakfast was excellent with local bacon and great service from the staff

Our first stay here with friends , but won’t be our last Will return with our pooch as also dog friendly. Very helpful and friendly Staff , rooms clean and comfortable, evening meal and breakfast both excellent. Great location for visiting various parts of north Yorkshire .

This is a friendly pub very convenient for the A1 with excellent staff and lovely food. The bathroom was new, spacious and comfortable. It's a bit noisy outside due to the location but this is outweighed by the staff who can't do enough for you!

The room were clean, comfortable and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was spotless with shower gel and shampoo provided and extra large fluffy bath sheets. A little warm due to excessive summer temperatures, however fans and air conditioning units were provided. Fresh milk and cold drinking water and ice was available at the bar which was a nice touch. We didn’t end up eating in the restaurant due to complicated dietary requirements, however everything looked delicious. Across the road is a lovely canal walk and the town itself has good shops and cafes.

Parking on site - easy walk to town and restaurants - good pub food. We had a large room on a shared patio seating area at the back of the hotel, which was quiet. Boroughbridge is a very pleasant town.

Really nice comfortable pub/ resteraunt. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, good selection of tasty food and drinks served in a very relaxing atmosphere. Luxury double room didn't dissapoint. Finding good accommodation on a budget is not easy in this part of Yorkshire.

I stayed here before with no complaints, however, I booked a table for dinner and was rushed through, with my starter being served within 5 minutes of order, and the main course as soon as I finished the starter. I had sausages and mash for main, which was disappointing (plain mash, when mustard mash was on the menu, sausages which appeaered to be undercooked, and very salty gravy). When I bought my dis satisfaction to the attantion of the server, I was just told ' sorry about that' and then nothing more. I would definetley stay again for the great rooms, but would eat elswhere in the future.

We had a fabulous two days at the Grantham Arms, the property was clean, the staff were so friendly, helpful and could not do enough for us, plus the room was lovely. We booked the breakfast and this was amazing, cooked to perfection for us. We will definitely go there again.

It was a good hotel, we were visiting family in the area so was a nice base. We had stayed at other nearby hotels so wanted to try this one. It was okay for one night, we booked in for dinner. The menu is extremely limited for dietary requirements, with things listed as vegetarian that weren't and food didn't match description. We didn't book breakfast, again as similar wanted a much refresher breakfast rathan than a fry up. Gave 4 stars as was a lovely bed, very comfortable! The bathroom smelt quite damp after a shower, no window open. Didn't hear any noise from the pub. Overall good b&b for a night - would recommend the Crown though due to facilities/spa area.

Parking was tricky. Comfy beds but pillows were very thin. Nice touches like coffee bags and can get milk from bar if preferred, rather than UHT. Good location, had a front facing room and it wasn't very noisy at all. Happily stay again
