The housekeeping staff is doing a great job. I liked l the front desk staff. They were always willing to help. I turned in a bag of laundry and they called a service who washed and dried it and brought it back that night. The hotel is pet friendly as we had our dog with us. The hotel is very centrally located in central York and we could easily walk to the sites. We wanted to stay longer; the rates started at $123 per night for the first two nights. I extended for a 3rd night because I needed to get my husband medical care and didn’t need the hassle of moving hotels on top of that. I paid almost $300 for that 3rd night and when I tried to extend a 4th night, it said you can’t stay less than 7 nights and the next morning I checked and it said it was $370 a night. It’s a nice place with a fun vibe. But, $370 a night and you have to stay 7 nights? Something is very odd with that. All in all, a great place to stay in the center of old York. We were pleased.

A modern hotel within easy walking reach of the centre. There is no vehicle access to the entrance being situated in a pedestrian precinct but its only a short walk. Rooms are small and basic but clean and adequate. Breakfast was adequate but the same buffet each day. No on site parking.

The room had loads of great features including the most amazing black out blinds! The TV was easy to use and we were able to cast from our phone to watch Netflix. The lobby was lovely with a great bar and there was even an open mic on!

Check in with a smile like always at a Moxy hotel, great staff, always helpful. Rooms comfy, reception area very welcoming when th plenty of relaxing seating. 5 minute walk into town, shambles only 3 minutes away if you’re into a packed tiny street with Harry Potter everywhere. 20% off parking from the hotel with Q Parks, good job as Q Parks know how to charge!! Wow!! Get there early as well as when we got there circa 12.30 there were only a couple of spaces left!

Fabulous modern hotel in a great location for visitors to York Minster & The Shambles etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The design of the public areas is fun with plenty of snacks and stuff available for purchase. Great to be able to join other guest having a late evening drink in a well lit & designed, warm and friendly bar/reception room. Lots of board games available, but we and another group played cards. We all loved it. Great to have the option of breakfast or complementary coffee for those who don't eat breakfast. We loved the wooden key cards. The rooms are a little small and the parking is a bit of a hike, but no matter, they have luggage trolleys.

A super greeting and easy booking in system. A great vibe was around the hotel. In walking distance to all of Yorks attractions and nightlife. Breakfast had a great selection and variety, which ensured you were fuelled for any walking. Small gym room but held enough for a work out.

We had a fantastic two night stay at Moxy York. The bed was super comfortable. Really easy to park at the Q Park Shambles and walk to and from all the attractions. Staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the pool and foosball tables too!

The hotel is perfectly located just metres from the Shambles. Our first floor room was quite despite being near the lobby. However, the room and the bathroom were small, with no hooks for towels, and a large chair made the space feel cramped. Scaffolding outside ruined the view, though there was no noise. On the bright side, breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic - friendly and attentive. A great stay overall, but some small improvements would make it even better.

I stayed at the moxy for 2 nights. The hotel looks good at first glance and staff very polite at check in. My room was 401 ,on entering the room the smell of the drains from the bathroom were noticeable but not a problem at first. By the next morning the smell was terrible coming from the bathroom and there was no hot water for a shower. On reporting this to reception she pointed to a chalk board on the counter that just said We know about the water issue and our engineers are working to fix it. The room was modern and decorated lovely but was let down by the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the glass shelves at the side of the bed were filthy, covered in dust and cup/ glass marks under the dust. The bed was clean and fresh but the rest of the room had obviously not been cleaned.

We stayed in October 24. The hotel was great in many ways but unfortunately they were having work done on their roof. The noise in our room was unbearable as we were on the fourth floor. There was banging, drilling, sawing & I could even hear them brushing up! They offered to move our room but to be honest we could also hear noise from this work down in the bar. I would recommend the hotel in every other way - just check the work is finished before booking.

Nice hotel in a really good location. Room was clean and nice. Only thing was the room was very hot even though the window had been left open when we arrived. The aircon was turned out because of the time of year. It was uncomfortable at night and didn’t sleep well at all. Had to open the window which didn’t make much difference and was then quite noisy. Shame because it’s a lovely hotel but I wouldn’t stay again because of the room being too hot.

The Moxy hotel was pleasant enough, very convenient location. The room didn’t have any storage for clothing, so you can’t unpack at all and the room windows are very close to the building across, so we had to keep our curtains shut, it made the room dark and claustrophobic

There was scaffolding right outsode my window, i was woken up by builders at 8am dropping bricks down a rubush chute. I told the staff and they literally didnt care. I wasnt warned before booking or upon arrival. The worst hotel stay of my entire life.

Everything was great, two small issues, parking is basically none existent especially for blue badge holders even for loading and unloading on arrival and departing there is nothing. You are sent to a local car park, you are given a discount code bit it is still not cheap. The rooms are clean and modern but are a bit small and two of you get in each others way when getting ready. Best one get ready then go wait in the bar.

We love Moxy hotels - great vibe, clean and functional. BUT - madness that it took 40 minutes to get some yogurt and a toast. The kitchen refused to prepare it until the breakfast things had been cleared up, even though there were very few people having breakfast! Crazy and deeply disappointing as everything else was fab!

Check in was excellent , very friendly and Efficient . Nice touch to have the dog treats in the bedroom . The only bad thing was the bar staff in the evening . We wanted to take a bottle of water up to the room and were comprehensively ignored by both staff so after waiting a good while we gave up . Shame as the rest of the stay was very good .

Moxy York is a great location - a short walk to the main attractions, good places to eat etc. The hotel is bright and clean and modern. A great environment for chilling, having breakfast and the complimentary drink is a nice touch. The rooms were very peaceful. Staff are all friendly and really helpful. Nothing is too much for them. We will definitely be staying again.

Stayed at other Moxy sites before and this one was disappointing. Room was small, no bottled water, almost no clothes hanging space. Bathroom was tiny. Breakfast, usually a highlight felt it had been downgraded into poor quality products. Pastries were stodgy, cheap sausages, no maple syrup for pancakes ……. Just lots of little things that didn’t feel like the high quality product it was from previous visits. Staff were friendly and upbeat and decor was still fresh. Would think twice about staying again and lots of other options for the price.

We had a really nice stay here in this hotel the location is brilliant. The breakfast isn't great but due to location we had breakfast one morning and then ate out the other mornings as there are so many options nearby.

Breakfast offering is a stand-out with a great selection of items with thought put into providing kids options too. Rooms are clean and well maintained but bathrooms small. Monday night is 'open mic' night in the lounge / bar / restaurant downstairs - very loud and not great if you are just trying to have a quiet family dinner after a long day out.

Stayed for 2 nights & wow I am so glad I booked Moxy. Room was lovely no fault at all. Downstairs bar area is massive with loads of games set out on tables. The hotel itself is very modern. Breakfast has lots of choice hot & cold. We had a lovely stay & will definitely book Moxy when we visit York again.
