Good resort in excellent location. I wish there was an on-site restaurant.

Loved the room. The pool was small and crowded but the beach was beautiful and easy to access.

Our room was great, we stayed on 12th floor. The place was overall clean, and the view to the ocean was beautiful. This condominium is well maintained, it has a nice kitchen with the necessary pots and pans, dishwasher, and offers free laundry, which is conveniently located on the same floor. As you might be aware, this place is not a hotel, so don't expect housekeeping. We observed some construction in the property but it didn't bother us. One improvement I think they should consider is expanding the pool, it is small for the size of the property. I would definitely recommend this property, it's well maintained and located next to the Whaler's Village shopping center. Overall, I would stay here again in the future. Thank you.

Free laundry washer and dryer on each floor was very nice! Right next door to lots of shops and restaurants. Beautiful sand on the beach!

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Quick check in and out. Good dining options in walking distance. Very nice room with ocean view. Only downside was TV in main room was iffy about signal about 1/3 of the time. Very small and crowded pool area. People saving 4 spots for 2 people to move in and out of sun. Pool too deep for wading as was 5-6 feet deep throughout. Overall was a very nice property and well kept up.

Ideal location with great beach, dining, and shopping access and the benefits of being in a condo. Ofc Hawaii is expensive, but an Expedia pricing deal and a kitchen made the Whaler a great hotel resort alternative. Ocean View units have a truly great ocean view; space and condition were good and clean, if slightly dated. Bathroom was spacious, and kitchen was well stocked for what we needed. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. Remember that you won't get cleaning service during your stay. While this property doesn't have dining / bar / shopping options itself, it is right next door to Whaler Village, where options are great. Lobby is staffed around the clock for easy check in / check out. Parking is a little limited in the garage, but a walk from the outer lot isn't bad. Pool area was nice, if a bit small, and two outdoor grilling areas are great if you want to have dinner on your own right by the beach. The only issue I had was a check out receipt that seemed to show an extra "destination charge" being put on my card. It turns out that it wasn't - the charge was built into our pre-paid stay. Clarifying that would help. My favorite thing about this property? The amazing beachfront, right in the middle of the Kaanapali stretch, with the mini boardwalk making walking to dinner, excursions, etc. easy. Watching the whales from shore every day was amazing! Able to access some boat-based excursions right from the hotel beach too. We'd definitely stay here again.

Very nice room. FANTASTIC staff. We arrived on a Friday night. We were initially given a room with a scheduled closed balcony for Monday-Friday (for painting). This was unacceptable so we asked for a different room. The staff was very helpful in relocating us to an even better room with a corner balcony. The pool is nice. We were very surprised there was minimal “pressure” on the loungers with umbrellas that we’ve routinely encountered at other nearby resorts. One downside - no pool bar. Bring your own cooler with drinks! The bellman was especially nice and friendly. We observed more folks in our (senior) age range than younger folk which was fine by us! The beach here is awesome - the best on Kaanapali Beach, IMO. Underground parking right below Tower 1 was great. Just be back before, say, 7-8 PM. Proximity to Whalers Village is an huge plus. Overall, the Whaler was a very enjoyable resort.

The only things I can complain about was the pool, my backyard pool if better, and the parking. There was zero underground parking at night. and a long haul from above ground.

Property and lobby was nice and so was the staff. No early check in.Pool is too small for room/guest count. No food on this property. Our hotel room was extremely outdated. Curtains and carpet were old and dirty, and so were the towels. Should have been better for the cost.

We had a phenomenal stay! The grounds were exceptionally well kept and the room was fantastic - updated, comfortable, good views of the ocean and mountains. We could not have been happier with the accommodations!

The resort charged me $165 for resort fees. These are condos with a shared pool. No other services. It is my understanding that the resort fees are included in the total price on Expedia so this was an unpleasant surprise. Our room had cockroaches and other bugs. No services. I am not happy about this charge and no resort amenities. I had cockroached and bugs in my room

The location of the Whaler was great and the check in/out process was easy. The major disappointment was that we could not use our balcony between the hours of 8am-5pm due to construction on the building. The hours we were allowed onto the balcony it was covered in dirt and construction debris. The construction and unusable balcony were not disclosed during booking or when we checked in. We booked this suite for the view from the balcony which we couldn't use. This was my first trip to the island and we were not staying long so we did not discuss the issue with management to make the most out of our time. I would recommend calling management to ensure you are able to use all amenities you are paying for if you book a room.

LOVED the cleanliness, friendliness, and view! Close to all of the activities and restaurants.

Very old and dated. Ceilings in bathroom were coming dow and pipes were visible. Baseboards were old not flush with wood work, huge cockroach from our towels sitting in the bathroom sink was in our room the second day. We were moved to another room and although it was nicer it still had the same dirty feel from the 1960’s ceilings and trim. The pool was hot, small, crowded, not refreshing at all. The front desk people and towel/beach employees were all very lovely. If it wasn’t for them I would have moved to a different property.

It was an amazing property and location. Very clean and well mintained. Staff was all very friendly. Loved having a kitchen to cook meals and save on eating out.

Breathtaking ocean views, just a short walk to upscale restaurants and a beautiful beach. The staff is friendly, and the recently renovated apartments feature tall ceilings and modern finishes.

The room was outdated, but decent. There was Excellent views of the ocean from the balcony.

Room was amazing. Two queen beds in the guest room for our kids to have their own bed and a king in the master. 2 bathrooms and a outside patio that wrapped around providing a view of the mountains and ocean. Resort was clean and staff was very kind and helpful. Would go back as soon as we can

Amazing property and value with excellent location and amenities. Room was absolutely gorgeous with very comfortable beds and living spaces. The wrap around Lanai was fantastic! My family was very happy and content with the room and its amenities. The property itself is beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Our only complaint: The room had a washer and dryer but was not to be used per the owners of the property. An inconvenient detail for sure and although the property itself had a washer and dryer it was almost impossible to use due to other guests. I specifically looked for rooms with washer/dryers for convenience- should have stated on the room detail page that the unit did not have a washer/dryer. Highly recommend the Whaler!!

It was my first time visiting Maui and I’m soooo happy that I stayed at the Whalers. Location is perfect, parking is easy, staff is super friendly, easy beach access, and sooo many other good things that I wish I have the space to list them all. I can’t fault this place, except for one thing. The room WiFi was not really working for some reason. I could connect to the WiFi but it kept showing “no internet connection”. Although the staff checked it immediately, it was still not quite resolved. But, I’m in Maui, WiFi is the least thing that I need to worry about. Will definitely come back again!

The room was beautiful with amazing views from the balcony! The location was convenient for shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that they had beach chairs and a beach umbrella for us to use as well.

I was in the waterfront suite and it was amazing. Wrap around balcony with a nice kitchen and living room area and two full bathrooms. Awesome ocean view and very close to shops and restaurants.

We didn’t had a good time here at this resort, we took a one bed two bath unit, the only good part about it was the view from balcony. The kitchen was just basic and lacking proper utensils you’d want for cooked meals which is one of the main reasons you’d be staying here instead of a hotel room. The dishwasher wasn’t working. One of the bathrooms had the shower leaking and we were informed later on that it was a known issue even before we checked in which they didn’t care to fix before check-in. There were multiple occasions when false fire alarm went off, at times, early morning around 5, which woke us up abruptly, the alarm kept going on randomly, we were told it was false alarm each time. The bedroom was adjacent to the busy elevators, so the elevator metal clanking noises were heard all day in the bedroom. All in all, this stay was a dampner on our vacation here in Maui. We wouldn’t stay here again.

I liked the spaciousness of the room, but it could use some updated flooring; carpet was old, but overall, it was good.

We had a fantastic time at the Whaler. The property is amazing. Location is perfect! The beach is clean and water is super clear! The staff are all very accommodating and nice. The tour concierge even reminded me that my booking included a $139 credit for a tour that I had not yet used and we were about to book one. All the resorts around the Whaler had restaurants that were easily accessible from the beach boardwalk. Plus the Whaler Village provided great options for food and a little shopping just 5 minute walk next door. Our room provided double the space of a regular hotel room with 2 bathrooms, a living room, perfect balcony and oh the sunsets…the sunsets from our room were crazy beautiful!

Stay was amazing. Great location. 1 thing that soured the stay was the night crew desk. We stayed a week and a few time after a late dinner we would ask for towels and toilet paper. Instead of just giving us the items this guy just roasted us on when or how we should have called sooner for those items. I was close to telling him to f off and do his job and give us the items.

We were very pleasantly surprised at how well run The Whaler is. We weren’t sure what to expect knowing that all of the units are privately owned, but it was run essentially like a hotel, with a concierge desk, front desk, house keeping etc. Everything was very clean, including all walkways, elevators and bathrooms near the reception desk. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with everything. We will definitely be back!

The whaler resort was excellent! The staff was first rate all the way, very friendly and helpful. I had a snafu in my reservation. The staff was very cordial and helpful in resolving the issue and very apologetic. The room was beautiful great views. Loved sleeping with the patio door open and listening to the ocean all night. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend this resort. Its prime location near the beach makes it incredibly convenient for guests, and it’s just a short distance from all the main coral reef tour departures. The proximity to local attractions and activities adds great value to the stay, especially for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area.

It was amazingly well maintained. The staff were very accomadating anf friendly. It felt safe at all hours of the day. It was in close proximity to dining , shopping and excursion mtg points.

Great location, this particular property is lacking in the pool and restaurant bar amenities. However, many nearby options for food and drinks within a short walk. Black rock is also with public beach access and great snorkeling!

We had a great time, the property was lovely and our room was comfortable. The location is awesome, a beautiful view, we saw whales from our balcony and it was so easy to just walk down to the beach. The staff and the concierge were very nice and helpful. The location near Whaler's village makes it easy to grab a quick meal without getting in your car.
