Convenient location. Rooms attractively furnished & clean but uncomfortably cold both in room & in the bar. Nice big TV. Breakfast was poor selection & low quality & served in chilly bar (but as it's complimentary you can plan to go elsewhere). On balance good value & would stay again.

Absolutely fine. Staff were very friendly but a bit slow to serve on check in. Bedroom was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom but the water pressure in the shower, was awful. Not a bad hotel and well positioned for the city centre. Parking wasn't easy, the multi storey nearby closed in the evening and was very very expensive. There was another car park nearby but not many spaces and touch and go as to getting a space. £16 for 24 hours though which wasnt too bad.

They claim they have parking but they don't. They send you to a public parking nearby that is too small and always full. Make sure you book parking ahead somewhere else, ignore their claims about parking.

Breakfast was very good . A god choice of food. Parking was difficult no hotel car parking. Had to use an online booking service which was very good and close to the hotel.

I always use the same criteria when searching for hotels and on site car parking is important to me. The hotel came up in a search that included car park as one of the, and I took it for granted that there was indeed a car park and the website information which included details of nearby commercial car parking was for overflow parking. I was extremely disappointed to find there was no on site parking.

It was a lovely hotel but when we turned up expecting to park at the hotel the car park was now rubble. The parking was one of the reasons we chose the hotel so disappointing not to have been told this

Nice room, good bathroom , breakfast fine, dining area poorly set out , not enough tables and awful low seats.

The room was very clean and modern - you could smell how clean it was when walking to the room

Room was cleanish had some stains on curtains look like tea been spilt also on a cushion , the bedroom wasn’t cleaned the next morning not checked if needed clean towels/ tea/ milk , good selection for breakfast , staff friendly,

Hotel spotless throughout, room cleaned to a high standard.Breakfast was excellent.All staff were professional and helpful.

The staff were all lovely and friendly, especially Katy who attempted to deal with our issue of a sewage smell coming from the bathroom sink (room 226). She came armed with cleaning products, but unfortunately this didn’t work, she informed housekeeping who also cleaned, but to no avail. Katy did offer us a move of room, but having done 2 nights, we only had one more to go, so left it. Hopefully maintenance have managed to fix the issue. We felt the hotel was very expensive for what you get. The queen room bed was only 5 foot, and very low to the ground (may be an issue for some people?) Being used to a larger bed, we did struggle, but that’s our problem. The headboard also smelt - oily heads (?), as did the sofa bed. The amenities tray was extremely basic - cheap Nescafé instant coffee, basic tea and UHT milk. No biscuits or sweet treats! No bottles of water or fresh milk. The toiletries in the bathroom were very nice. The breakfast is included, and provided you got down around 8.30/9.00ish, there wasn’t too big a queue. The food was fine for a buffet. We particularly enjoyed the natural yoghurt, seeds and fruit compote, followed by a little pastry! The hotel’s location was perfect. Close to the city centre and loads of eateries and right opposite the Spark street food area, which had a good choice of food. Better than the hotel’s offering, which was very limited! The hotel’s cocktails were great however! Expensive for what you get. Shame about the sewage smell

The hotel certainly does not deserve a 4 star rating. The breakfast was really poor, the hot food seemed like it had always been left for too long, even the fresh bacon and sausages that came out weren’t fresh and the rest of the breakfast was not what you would expect from a 4 star. Everything was cheap, the orange juice was watered juice, the cereal choice was rice crispies, corn flakes and cocoa pops, the fruit was tinned fruit or frozen and the hot drinks were help yourself from a machine. The room reminded me of a student accommodation, clean but the bathroom was very cramped. Also there was a distinct aroma of the drains throughout the hotel, it seemed to be coming through our bathroom sink which was really horrible. I would definitely book a different hotel if I was returning to York. Very disappointing for a Hilton Hotel.

The hotel was good but next door to waste ground / Building site. Breakfast was very good. Good location to city centre. Room was OK but lacking drawers space. A couple of small issues 1. Using hand towels for a shower mat. 2. Did not replenish sugar for tea.

Rooms was poorly cleaned quite dusty staining to curtains, sink didn’t work properly it leaked from underneath, I did contact reception who was quite polite and helpful in sending someone to see if it could be fixed as they was at full capacity unfortunately it wasn’t able to be fixed, although great customer service at reception, I didn’t have a fully functioning room, extremely noisy I know that can be expected on New Year’s Eve, but this was extremely bad there was quite a lot of teens in the hotel which I didn’t mind at first but when it’s 4am and there is people knocking on doors, blasting music, etc it’s quite alarming, i did contact reception which I did feel terrible about doing, they was sending security up which seemed to be of no avail, I’m not certain if I would stay at this hotel again the location was great for the city centre, staff was excellent, the room was extremely modern, was just lacking cleanliness, noise levels extreme, I was unable to speak on behalf of the breakfast which was served as I did not manage to get some sleep until 5:30am, so completely missed breakfast.

The first room we were in had mould in the showerhead and behind the shower pole. We got our room changed out and the second room was better. Parking is awful when you want to unload your baggage. The nearest parking is a seven minute drive away and is very expensive even with the hotel discount. The only thing outstanding about this place was the breakfast and the location

Positives - location is good for most places of interest in York. Cleanliness- room was very clean no issues. Called ahead of arriving for a room with a view of the river. This was sorted no problems. Negatives - bed was really low where my husband due to health issues struggled to get out in the morning . Temparature in the room is 19 degrees minimum which is far too warm and stuffy for us - personal choice. Would have been so much better if there were windows to open for air. I know they say safety reasons but windows can be set to open just slightly to let in air. There was air con but this stops when the room reaches 19 degrees. Too warm to sleep so we woke up a few times in the night. We asked about a fan but they don't provide them. From now on if we stay anywhere we are checking for windows that open therefore will not choose here again. Breakfast was OK just warm to eat. Sausages rubbery and hash browns had a strange taste. Bar meals very basic and no healthy options such as salads. If ever I need to stay in York again thing I will look for a bed and breakfast instead as the price of £178.42 was not value for money for a poor night's sleep.

Excellent clean room really well designed with great us of space

Everything was run very smoothly and the room was spotless,my only complaint would be that the shower had very low pressure.

I couldn’t believe the bed was so low to the ground, very uncomfortable. My grandson was on the sofa bed and that was much more comfortable. Very disappointed for our first visit to a Hilton hotel.

Stopped here a few times, nice and central, OK breakfast, nice rooms and bed but the showers need more power and more water

Visit York every year first time at the Hampton Hotel by Hilton Piccadilly definitely be were we will be staying every time now lovely modern clean room all staff were very pleasant great location very good breakfast couldn't fault it

The sofabed was terrible. It was not only hard but there were also two gaps. One was near the back (horizontal), and the other was vertical. There was no padding between the bed and the sheet. It made me have a really bad back pain. It ruined my vacation in York.

Hotel really nice and clean breakfast great choices, satff friendly and helpful ,only negative shower had no presseure. But alrwadg lokkimgnat staying again

Appreciated early check in and luggage storage after check out. Within walking distance of most of the highlights of the old city.

Great location and friendly staff.

Melissa who checked me and my brother in very rude, did not smile and her english terrible. We took photo of her. She spent the whole time on the phone and was not helpful in any way, when asking questions. Sheets was not very clean, found black curly hairs on the mattress. However, the bathroom was very nice and a great view. Breakfast was also very nice.

Great room spotless. Ingrid on reception went above and beyond to help when I’d lost my gloves yesterday. She even checked the cctv. All of the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly All

The rooms were clean, had everything we could ask for. Great checkin prompt and speedy and instructions where the room was. Check out was great and thanks for staying with bag storage for the day. The hotel comes with breakfast included this is where it could improve. It seemed that tables where not cleaned after guest left quickly and things ran out quickly maybe that it was a weekend the staff on duty where over stretched to keep on top of it all but apologised for delays.

Room was cleaned most mornings between 9 and 10 pm last day was 3;30 and only after I had phoned up to complain no apology given

Hotel was great rooms lovely .Check in receptionist was not particularly friendly or welcoming but would stay again . Breakfast was ok not the best not the worse felt could have had a bigger selection .

The reception staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and pleasant. The room was clean and well-maintained upon arrival, and the service the next day was truly impressive. Housekeeping did a fantastic job — they cleaned thoroughly, changed the bed linen, and neatly organised everything in the room while we were out. I had booked a King Size Room with a City View. While the room itself was comfortable and spacious, the view was a bit underwhelming as it included a nearby construction site with a noticeable pile of sand just a few meters below. That was the only slight letdown in an otherwise pleasant stay. Aside from that, everything was superb — excellent service, cleanliness, and a comfortable stay overall. Thank you to the team for the warm hospitality!

Hotel was very clean, staff were excellent, good location with everything close by. Breakfast was really good. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was nice, nice room and breakfast. Room was cold overnight with draughts which kept us up, heating was controlled so couldn't change in the room. Housekeeping let themselves into our room before we had checked out as we were getting ready, no apology or anything, reported both to reception who just said leave it with us. A nice hotel, but turned into a poor experience for us.

Central location and comfortable rooms. Available breakfast is a nice touch and decent options. Beds comfy.

A modern hotel. Clean and well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb with an excellent range of hot and cold food on offer. 10 minutes walk along Piccadilly to the Town Centre with a full range of resturants and pubs. Its quite along walk from the Railway Station, so I would suggest either a taxi or public transport, particularly with cases.

Nice hotel, was able to check in early, very quiet room on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel, up to date modern and clean. Complementary breakfast, very busy hotel. Close to center of York.

The hotel i was nice and comfy. The best part is its location. All the best attractions of York is walkable distance from this hotel.

The hotel was nice and the food was amazing. Although Piccadilly in York is slightly run down and spoils the experience.

Check in was very smooth. Great location at a walkable distance to Clifford's Tower and The Shambles. Also close to multiple bus stops if you are traveling further. The room was very comfortable and clean. Housekeeping came by every day to refresh the room. They also held our luggage for us the day that we checked out so that we could go explore the city without lugging around our things.

Great hotel, ideal position for access to City Centre and Sights. Clean and Comfortable rooms, lots of choice for breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Work being undertaken at the side and across the road spoiled the view/ambience of the area but wasn't inconvenient.

Excellent location and the recommended carpark was easy to find. Very good and comfortable room, exceptionally clean. Very good lighting. Welcoming and helpful member of staff especially when advising about where to go for dinner. Breakfast was satisfactory but the ‘hot’ food was cold. Fried eggs would be nice, powdery scrambled egg was disappointing.

the hotel was generally good but the breakfast a bit disappointing. The scrambled egg had been left out under hot lights too long and was very dry and the fruit juice was truly terrible, very very diluted.

This was a very nice hotel, very clean and great location, it was really handy to be able to leave our bags there before and after check in. Breakfast was average, the plates and bowls were wet and not entirely clean so but disappointing. Would definitely stay again despite the breakfast.

Great hotel. Friendly staff on arrival. Parking options differed to that on the website I think but receptionist helped us with that. Room was lovely and clean. Bed and pillows very comfy. Breakfast great with lots of choice. We did go down at a busy time so a little chaotic

Breakfast was terrible. Very cheap sausages and scrambled egfs which tasted like dry re-constituted eggs. They asked for a boiled egg and they said it is ‘Hampton’ policy to only serve one type of eggs and that will be scrambled!

Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Room was clean and modern. Shower was not very powerful and loose on the wall. Water overflowed onto bathroom floor. Breakfast was of a very low standard in quality and taste. The sausage is the worst i have ever had.
